Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is used to characterize thin p-doped polypyrrole (PPy) films in propylene carbonate (PC) solutions and poly(trifluorophenyl)thiophene (PTFPT), in solutions based on sulfolane (SF). It appears that the latter film is much less swelled compared to the former one. One consequence of this difference is that the PTFPT film shows a much higher bulk resistance compared to that for the PPy film. Another important consequence is that the swelling of the PTFPT film is essentially physically non-homogeneous. Two parallel, uncoupled paths, with different chemical diffusion coefficients, model the experimental results adequately. In order to quantify the impedance spectra for both polymer films, we use a model proposed by Rubinstein et al. explaining the difference in the diffusion coefficients of Ru(bpy)3+/2+
3 within a thin Nafion film. The model can also predict the impedance spectra for composite powdery electrodes containing different particle sizes, such as composite cathodes and graphite anodes used in lithium batteries. 相似文献

The multielement trace analytical method ‘total reflection X-ray fluorescence’ (TXRF) has become a successfully established method in the semiconductor industry, particularly, in the ultra trace element analysis of silicon wafer surfaces. TXRF applications can fulfill general industrial requirements on daily routine of monitoring wafer cleanliness up to 300 mm diameter under cleanroom conditions. Nowadays, TXRF and hyphenated TXRF methods such as ‘vapor phase decomposition (VPD)-TXRF’, i.e. TXRF with a preceding surface and acid digestion and preconcentration procedure, are automated routine techniques (‘wafer surface preparation system’, WSPS). A linear range from 108 to 1014 [atoms/cm2] for some elements is regularly controlled. Instrument uptime is higher than 90%. The method is not tedious and can automatically be operated for 24 h/7 days. Elements such as S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Br, Sn, Sb, Ba and Pb are included in the software for standard peak search. The detection limits of recovered elements are between 1×1011 and 1×107 [atoms/cm2] depending upon X-ray excitation energy and the element of interest. For the determination of low Z elements, i.e. Na, Al and Mg, TXRF has also been extended but its implementation for routine analysis needs further research. At present, VPD-TXRF determination of light elements is viable in a range of 109 [atoms/cm2]. Novel detectors such as silicon drift detectors (SDD) with an active area of 5 mm2, 10 mm2 or 20 mm2, respectively, and multi-array detectors forming up to 70 mm2 are commercially available. The first SDD with 100 mm2 (!) area and integrated backside FET is working under laboratory conditions. Applications of and comparison with ICP-MS, HR-ICP-MS and SR-TXRF, an extension of TXRF capabilities with an extremely powerful energy source, are also reported. 相似文献

Conducting polymer (CP) films, used as ion-sensing membranes under open circuit potentiometric conditions, are usually characterised with rather high detection limit, in the range of 10−4-10−5 mol dm−3. This effect is unfavourable, not only from the point of view of CP applications in potentiometry as ion sensitive membranes, but also when these materials are used as ion-to-electron transducers (solid contacts) for ion-selective electrodes. The theoretical considerations presented underline the crucial role of spontaneous processes of polymer charging/discharging—the source of observed high detection limit of sensors comprising CP layer under zero current conditions. Although the mechanism of occurring process is different from that observed for plastic, solvent polymeric based ion-selective electrodes, the ultimate result—alteration of activity of electrolyte at the membrane/solution interface leading to elevation of the detection limit—is the same.The method of estimation of parameters characterising spontaneous charge transfer processes is presented. The values obtained can be used to calculate the resulting polymer/solution interface activity of electrolyte ions, thus the detection limit of CP membrane can be theoretically predicted.A method of lowering of the detection limit of conducting polymer membranes, applying galvanostatic polarisation to compensate the spontaneous process of polymer charging/discharging, is presented.The experimental results obtained for poly(pyrrole), poly(N-methylpyrrole) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) are in good accordance with predictions of the presented model. 相似文献

Thermogalvanic cells(also known as thermo-electrochemical cells) that convert waste heat energy to electricity are a new type of energy conversion device. However, the electron transfer kinetics and mass transfer of redox couples have not been thoroughly studied. Here, the ion reaction and charge transport in thermogalvanic cells are investigated by electrochemical impedance analysis. We first propose the detailed impedance model followed experimental verification on three types of electrode materials. Parameters including kinetic rate constants and ion diffusion coefficients for the electrodes are obtained by fitting the impedance data. Our study shows explicitly that impedance analysis can provide useful information on selecting suitable electrode materials for thermogalvanic cells. 相似文献

E) and the ultrasonic speed (u) have been investigated from viscosity (η) and density (ρ ) measurements of binary liquid mixtures of 1,2-dimethyoxyethane with methanol, ethanol, propan-1-ol, butan-1-ol,
pentan-1-ol, hexan-1-ol or octan-1-ol over the entire range of composition at 298.15 K. The excess volumes are negative over
the entire range of composition for all of the mixtures with the exception of hexan-1-ol and octan-1-ol. The excess isentropic

Long chain alkanethiols self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) formed on Au microelectrodes showed higher sensitivity towards defects than the same monolayers on macroelectrodes. The analysis of cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) experiments performed on covered microelectrodes were consistent with the formation of pinholes of about 10 nm in diameter. Moreover, the EIS data exhibited a specific behavior that was interpreted invoking the short circuiting of the pinholes impedance by the surrounding surface of the microelectrode in the high frequency domain, whereas in the low frequencies, the surface covered by the SAM was assume to act as an insulator. 相似文献
