今天，电子邮件传递已经成为通信的一部分。是各个企业之间发布信息的核心。为了能够实现快速、廉价和高可信赖的e-mail需求，很多公司和个人都把Linux提供的服务作为满足这些需求的解决方案。Sendmail是运行在Linux环境下免费的邮件服务器，其悠久的发展历史使它在可移植性、稳定性以及技术支持方面都有一定的保证。     

在PowerScript语言中直接调用SQL操作数据库的方式

制作和显示中文软件封面的一种新方法

本文提出利用SPT和西文W inflows制作中文软件封面的一种新方法.其主要步骤是,先在SPT下生成具有TIF格式的底稿,再用图像格式转换文件,使之转换成PCX格式或BMP格式,最后在Windows操作环境下进行艺术处理,生成中文软件封面.,其次,通过对BMP图像格式文件的分析,编制一个在应用程序中显示该中文软件封面的程序.     

A Performance Measurement and Simulation for PC—Linux Regional Center Tier—3 System

An affordable solution to Tier-3 Regional Center(RC) is presented in this talk,a simple prototype has been set up for evaluation of the system performance,this prototype can be easily scaled to bigger one.A set of measurements have been conducted in both computer and network system behaviours in multiple concurrently running jobs contexts.In the talk these measured results are talked and discussed,including system and network effective utilizations and limitations,and the identified bottlenecks in different network layouts,and the comparisons with simulation.     

Code Organization and Configuration Management

Industry experts are increasingly focusing on team productivity on team productivity as the key to success,the base of the team effort is the four-fold structure of software in terms of logical organisation,physical organisation,managerial organisation,and dynamical structure.We describe the ideas put into action within the CMS software for organising software into sub-systems and packages,and to establish configuration management in a multiproject environment.We use a structure that allows to maximise the independence of soft ware development in individual areas,and at the same time emphasises the overwhelming importance of the interdependencies between the packages and components in the system.We comment on release procedures,and describe the inter-relationship between release,development,integration,and testing.     

Experiencing CMT in Software Production of Large and Complex Projects Issues in the Scalability of Software Production Management

The configuration management tool CMT has been used since several years now,and in quits different projects(Virgo,GLAST,LHCb,Auger,Atlas,etc).The features of the tool have continuously evolved according to the growing needs of the developers and to follow the increasing complexity of the software bases it has to service,However the original concepts:readability,simplicity,flexibility,completeness have been preserved and the syntan of the core element of the system-the requirements file-has been always ketp backward compatible.More and more project specific conventions and needs have founr their expression using CMT,and simultaneously the focuese to CMT features have evolved accordingly,progressively raising importance towards language customisation,new document generators production of patterns,package organization and software distribution.The basic properties of the CMT toolkit will be shortly presented but the focus of the discussion will be set to the CMT toolkit will be shortly presented but the focus of the discussion will be set top these recent evolutions,throught some typical examples obtained from actual projects showing specific definitions or conventions.The discussion is then extended towards the generalized question of the scalability in software production and management in the context of e.g. Grid technologies.The impact of using generic and high level tools such as CMT,which already offers several solutions,RPM or the Grid technologies,in this respect will be presented.In particular,the role of formal specifications for the software configuration appears to be critical for query mechanisms required in management operations or in remote actions.
