激光磁共振用于对NO_2分子的定量测量

本文叙述了采用CO激光磁共振方法对NO_2分子作定量测量,给出了激光磁共振信号幅度的数学表达式以及信号与分子浓度、激光功率等实验参数之间的依赖关系,实验结果与理论分析一致。     

Surface structure of quark stars with magnetic fields

We investigate the impact of magnetic fields on the electron distribution of the electrosphere of quark stars. For moderately strong magnetic fields of B ∼ 10¹³ G, quantization effects are generally weak due to the large number density of electrons at surface, but can nevertheless affect the photon emission properties of quark stars. We outline the main observational characteristics of quark stars as determined by their surface emission, and briefly discuss their formation in explosive events termed as quark-novae, which may be connected to the r-process.     

Mössbauer studies of the re-entrant spin-glass behaviour of Fe–Al alloys

Fe–Al alloys around the concentration of 30 at. % Al present re-entrant spin-glass behaviour at low temperatures. This behaviour is not completely understood and Mössbauer spectroscopy, combined with other experimental techniques, is useful to describe and explain this behaviour. Results show that the Mössbauer spectra coincide with the magnetic behaviour showed in literature and they can be explained as a magnetic cluster system whose magnetic clusters are getting smaller when the temperature is decreasing. When the temperature is reaching to the spin-glass transition at 92 K the spins in the paramagnetic matrix are moving slower and below this transition the spins are completely frozen.     

Hydrothermal synthesis of FeS2 for lithium batteries

Nanocrystalline FeS₂ cathode material of lithium cell was synthesized from cheap materials of FeSO₄, Na₂S₂O₃, and sulfur by a hydrothermal process. The scanning electron microscopy analysis showed the obtained material was nano-sized, about 500 nm. The X-ray powder diffraction analysis showed that the synthetic FeS₂ material had two phases of the crystalline structure, pyrite and marcasite. The phase of marcasite seems to have no negative effect on the electrochemical performance of the material. The synthetic FeS₂ showed a significant improvement of electrochemical performance for Li/FeS₂ cells.     

聚乳酸类医用生物降解材料的研究进展

聚乳酸由于其突出的优点如生物相容性好、降解产物对人体无毒而倍受重视,并且在生物医学领域的应用中获得了很好的效果。本文对聚乳酸的合成及在医学方面的应用作了总结和评述,并对其在生物医学领域的应用前景作了进一步展望。     

The Nature of Electronic Charge

Advances in gauge theories and unified theories have not thrown light on the meaning of electron. The problem of the origin of electronic charge is made precise, new insights gained from Weyl space are summarized, and the origin of charge in terms of fractional spin is suggested. A new perspective on the abelian Chern-Simons theory is presented to explain charge.     

Magnetized cosmological models in bimetric theory of gravitation

Bianchi type-III magnetized cosmological model when the field of gravitation is governed by either a perfect fluid or cosmic string is investigated in Rosen’s [1] bimetric theory of gravitation. To complete determinate solution, the condition, viz., A=(BC) ⁿ , where n is a constant, between the metric potentials is used. We have assumed different equations of state for cosmic string [2] for the complete solution of the model. Some physical and geometrical properties of the exhibited model are discussed and studied.     

Thermal effects on parallel resonance energy of whistler mode wave

In this short communication, we have evaluated the effect of thermal velocity of the plasma particles on the energy of resonantly interacting energetic electrons with the propagating whistler mode waves as a function of wave frequency and L-value for the normal and disturbed magnetospheric conditions. During the disturbed conditions when the magnetosphere is depleted in electron density, the resonance energy of the electron enhances by an order of magnitude at higher latitudes, whereas the effect is small at low latitudes. An attempt is made to explain the enhanced wave activity observed during magnetic storm periods.     

负折射指数物质中金属线对电磁波的影响

构造两种结构负折射指数物质(NRM)，利用数值模拟计算两种结构的S参数.由于这种结构尺度比波长小，为精确利用有限积分技术(FIT)进行模拟.通过对这两种结构中金属线位置变化对金属谐振频率影响进行模拟，最后得出由于金属线与谐振环耦合，金属线对称破缺影响谐振环谐振频率和通带，并对等效负折射指数为负的频带产生影响. 关键词： 负折射率 左手物质 通带 金属线对称破缺     

Spin tunneling properties in mesoscopic magnets: effects of a magnetic field

The tunneling of a giant spin at excited levels is studied theoretically in mesoscopic magnets with a magnetic field at an arbitrary angle in the easy plane. Different structures of the tunneling barriers can be generated by the magnetocrystalline anisotropy, the magnitude and the orientation of the field. By calculating the nonvacuum instanton solution explicitly, we obtain the tunnel splittings and the tunneling rates for different angle ranges of the external magnetic field ( θ _H = π/2 and π/2 < θ _H < π). The temperature dependences of the decay rates are clearly shown for each case. It is found that the tunneling rate and the crossover temperature depend on the orientation of the external magnetic field. This feature can be tested with the use of existing experimental techniques. Received 12 March 2001 and Received in final form 18 October 2001
