A calculation model is proposed for a numerical analysis of the decay of Saint-Venant end effects in a laminate material of irregular structure to which corresponds a transversely isotropic matrix with an isotropic covering. The elastic properties of the matrix correspond to those of a unidirectional glass-fiber-reinforced plastic. The problem is investigated within the framework of the concept of a representative element of the material. The decay of the end effect in the direction perpendicular to the isotropy plane of a transversely isotropic matrix for the case of symmetric deformation of the material is considered. The source of the end effect is simulated by a piecewise-constant periodic surface load. This load is local for the calculated region and changes within a part of the boundary comparable with the typical size of the structural heterogeneity of the material. The equations of the linear elasticity theory of orthotropic bodies, a model of piecewise-homogeneous media, and quantitative criteria of decay of the end effect are used. Starting from the base system of equations, a discrete problem is constructed and solved. The results of a computing experiment for the choice of a representative element and the results of determining the maximum extent of the end-effect zone for this element are presented.  相似文献

This paper deals with the construction of an analytic-numerical mean square solution of the random diffusion model in an infinite medium. The well-known Fourier transform method, which is used to solve this problem in the deterministic case, is extended to the random framework. Mean square operational rules to the Fourier transform of a stochastic process are developed and stated. The main statistical moments of the stochastic process solution are also computed. We show that a locally bounded nonnegative weak solution of the anisotropic porous media equation is locally continuous. The proof is based on DiBenedetto's technique called intrinsic scaling; by choosing an appropriate geometry one can deduce energy and logarithmic estimates from which one can implement an iterative method to obtain the regularity result.  相似文献

An analytical solution of the nonlinear eigenvalue problem arising from the fatigue crack growth problem in a damaged medium in coupled formulation is obtained. The perturbation technique for solving the nonlinear eigenvalue problem is used. The method allows to find the analytical formula expressing the eigenvalue as the function of parameters of the damage evolution law. It is shown that the eigenvalues of the nonlinear eigenvalue problem are fully determined by the exponents of the damage evolution law. In the paper the third-order (four-term) asymptotic expansions of the angular functions determining the stress and continuity fields in the neighborhood of the crack tip are given. The asymptotic expansions of the angular functions permit to find the closed-form solution for the problem considered.  相似文献

We consider the propagation of TM-polarized electromagnetic waves in a nonlinear dielectric layer located between two linear media. The nonlinearity in the layer is described by the Kerr law. We reduce the problem to a nonlinear boundary eigenvalue problem for a system of ordinary differential equations. We obtain a dispersion relation and a first approximation for eigenvalues of the problem. We compare the results with those obtained for the case of a linear medium in the layer.  相似文献

In this note, we reply to the comments by Rees and Magyari (2007) on our article (Aydin and Kaya 2007). They mainly stated that the thermal boundary conditions we defined at the edge of the boundary layer were incompatible with the energy equation. This is questionable and therefore we will discuss it below. They disclosed that our results were in error. However, this is quite misleading. Scientifically, they cannot reach such a conclusion without comparing our results with what they thought to be correct. In fact, this misleading and unproven statement will be shown not to be correct in the following.  相似文献
