Effect of ‘Transannular Transmission’ in Dibenzo-18-Crown-6

The effect of the nature of the substituent in the monosubstituted derivatives of dibenzo-18-crown-6 on the reactivity and direction of the electrophilic substitution reaction of the unsubstituted benzene ring has been determined. This transfer is carried out via the macrocycle and therefore is called transannular transmission. The possible mechanism of this transmission is discussed.     

Perturbation analysis of the orthogonal procrustes problem

Given two arbitrary real matricesA andB of the same size, the orthogonal Procrustes problem is to find an orthogonal matrixM such that the Frobenius norm MA – B is minimized. This paper treats the common case when the orthogonal matrixM is required to have a positive determinant. The stability of the problem is studied and supremum results for the perturbation bounds are derived.     

Perturbed unstable variational inequalities with unbounded operators on approximately given sets

The stability and convergence of the solutions of perturbed and regularized variational inequality to the solutions of the primary (unstable a priori) variational inequality with proper monotone operator are investigated. All the objects of inequality: the operatorA, the right-hand partf and the set of constrains are to be perturbed. At the same time no assumptions of boundedness and smoothness of the operatorA are used. The connection between the parameters of perturbations, which guarantees strong convergence of approximate solutions, is established. It is proved that the existence of the solution to the unperturbed variational inequality is necessary and sufficient condition for convergence of the regularized perturbed inequality solutions.This research was supported in part by the Ministry of Science Grant 3481-1-91 and by the Ministry of Absorption Center for Absorption in Science.     

Existence and uniqueness of semimartingale reflecting Brownian motions in an orthant

Summary This work is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of a class of semimartingale reflecting Brownian motions which live in the non-negative orthant of ^d . Loosely speaking, such a process has a semimartingale decomposition such that in the interior of the orthant the process behaves like a Brownian motion with a constant drift and covariance matrix, and at each of the (d-1)-dimensional faces that form the boundary of the orthant, the bounded variation part of the process increases in a given direction (constant for any particular face) so as to confine the process to the orthant. For historical reasons, this pushing at the boundary is called instantaneous reflection. In 1988, Reiman and Williams proved that a necessary condition for the existence of such a semimartingale reflecting Brownian motion (SRBM) is that the reflection matrix formed by the directions of reflection be completely-L. In this work we prove that condition is sufficient for the existence of an SRBM and that the SRBM is unique in law. It follows from the uniqueness that an SRBM defines a strong Markov process. A configuration interaction study of phosphine using bonded functions

A computational study is made of the effect of basis set upon the energy, properties and inversion barrier of the phosphine molecule. The calculations are performed at both the SCF and CI level. The flexibility of the double zeta basis is discussed in the light of the results.     

Enzymatic hydrolysis reaction of phospholipids in monolayers

The hydrolysis reaction of , and , -dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) catalized by bee venom phospholipase A₂ was studied in spreading monolayer at the water/air interface. DPPC and the hydrolysis products, palmitic acid and -lysophosphatidylcholine, palmitoyl were characterized at the interface by means of surface pressure, surface potential and ellipsometric measurements. Furthermore, mixed monolayers of reagents and products were investigated to ascertain their miscibility. The results show that the hydrolysis reaction can be followed by the decrease of surface pressure with time on subphases containing β-cyclodextrin, a well-known complexing agent of many amphiphilic compounds. The order of the reaction, the kinetic constant and other kinetic parameters are deduced.     

纳米级NiTiO3粉体的合成

以Ｈ２ＴｉＯ３，Ｈ２Ｏ２及ＮｉＣｌ２为主要原料，用化学共沉淀法制备了纳米级ＮｉＴｉＯ３。确定了反应物Ｈ２ＴｉＯ３，Ｈ２Ｏ２，ＮＨ３的最佳摩尔比为１：８：２，用不同的退火温度和退火时间对样品处理得到相应粒径的纳米级粉体。     

Triphenylphosphan-Nickel(0)-Komplexe mit Isocyanid-Liganden — [(RNC)nNi(PPh3)4–n] (n = 1–3)

Triphenylphosphane Nickel(0) Complexes with Isocyanide Ligands — [(RNC)_nNi(PPh₃)_4–n] (n = 1–3) Synthesis and properties of the isocyanide triphenylphosphane nickel(0) complexes [(RNC)Ni(PPh₃)₃], [(RNC)₂Ni(PPh₃)₂] and [(RNC)₃Ni(PPh₃)] (R = ^tBu, Cy, PhCH₂, p-TosCH₂) are described. I.r. and ³¹P n.m.r. spectra were recorded and the X-ray crystal structure of [(PhCH₂NC)₂Ni(PPh₃)₂] was determined.     

Synthesen von α,β-ungesättigten 2-(2-Oxo-benzazolin-3-yl)-3-hydroxy-dithio-carbonsäure-alkylestern und entsprechend substituierten Keten-S,S-acetalen sowie deren Kristall- und Molekülstruktur

Summary The new alkyl 2-(2-oxo-benzazoline-3-yl)-3-hydroxy dithiocrotonates and dithiocinnamates4 and the corresponding ketene dithioacetals2 and5 are obtained by dithiocarboxylation of the 3-acceptormethyl substituted benzazoline-2-ones1 or3. Alkylation at room temperature gives compounds4 whereas at higher alkylation temperature2 or5 are formed. The results of X-ray analyses performed for methyl 3-hydroxy-p-chloro-dithiocinnamate4d and of N-[1-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-2,2-bis(methylthio)-vinyl]-benzothiazoline-2-one5e are discussed.

     

Fluorinated triazinones from hexafluoroacetone ethoxycarbonylimine

The behavior of hexafluoroacetone ethoxycarbonylimine in cyclocondensation with different binucleophiles of the amidine type, viz., amino derivatives of N- and N,S-heterocycles, was studied. A preparative method for the synthesis of previously unknown annelated 2,2-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,5-triazinones was developed.
