A class of Lie algebras arising from intersection matrices

We find a class of Lie algebras, which are defined from the symmetrizable generalized intersection matrices. However, such algebras are different from generalized intersection matrix algebras and intersection matrix algebras. Moreover, such Lie algebras generated by semi-positive definite matrices can be classified by the modified Dynkin diagrams.     

Localization of IC-complexes on Kashiwara’s flag scheme and representations of Kac–Moody algebras

We study equivariant localization of intersection cohomology complexes on Schubert varieties in Kashiwara’s flag manifold. Using moment graph techniques we establish a link to the representation theory of Kac–Moody algebras and give a new proof of the Kazhdan–Lusztig conjecture for blocks containing an antidominant element.

Abstract

We consider the group G of C-automorphisms of C(x, y) (resp. C[x, y]) generated by s, t such that t(x) = y, t(y) = x and s(x) = x, s(y) = ? y + u(x) where u ∈ C[x] is of degree k ≥ 2. Using Galois's theory, we show that the invariant field and the invariant algebra of G are equal to C.     

Finite-dimensional Representations for a Class of Generalized Intersection Matrix Lie Algebras

In this paper, the authors study a class of generalized intersection matrix Lie algebras gim(M_n), and prove that its every finite-dimensional semisimple quotient is of type M(n, a, c, d). Particularly, any finite dimensional irreducible gim(M_n) module must be an irreducible module of Lie algebra of type M(n, a, c, d) and any finite dimensional irreducible module of Lie algebra of type M(n, a, c, d) must be an irreducible module of gim(M_n).     

An intersection multiplicity in terms of -modules

The main aim of this paper is to discuss the relation between Serre's intersection multiplicity and the Euler form. The Euler form is defined to be an alternating sum of the length of -modules and is used by Mori and Smith to develop intersection theory over noncommutative rings. We show that they differ by a sign and that this relation is closely related to Serre's vanishing theorem.

Boxicity of Halin graphs

A k-dimensional box is the Cartesian product R₁×R₂×?×R_k where each R_i is a closed interval on the real line. The boxicity of a graph G, denoted as is the minimum integer k such that G is the intersection graph of a collection of k-dimensional boxes. Halin graphs are the graphs formed by taking a tree with no degree 2 vertex and then connecting its leaves to form a cycle in such a way that the graph has a planar embedding. We prove that if G is a Halin graph that is not isomorphic to K₄, then . In fact, we prove the stronger result that if G is a planar graph formed by connecting the leaves of any tree in a simple cycle, then unless G is isomorphic to K₄ (in which case its boxicity is 1).
