Time-resolved fluorescence study of the single tryptophan in thiocyanate and azide derivatives of horseradish peroxidase: Implication for a p H-induced conformational change in the heme cavity

Detailed pH-dependent steady state and picosecond time-resolved tryptophan fluorescence studies on thiocyanate and azide complexes of horseradish peroxidase have been carried out. The fluorescence decay of the single tryptophan in these species was fitted to a discrete three exponential model. Maximum entropy method analysis also gave three distinct regions of lifetime distributions. The fast subnanosecond lifetime component was found to have > 97% amplitude contribution while other two longer lifetime components have small contributions. Small contributions from the nanosecond lifetime components possibly arise from apoprotein impurity or some small amount of disordered heme conformer of the protein. pH dependence of the fast picosecond lifetime components was found to show a systematic behavior which has been interpreted in the light of obligatory conformation change associated with activation of the enzyme at low pH.     

关于“信息熵”分析及其应用的研究

本文用Ｓｈａｎｎｏｎ熵函数的观点及最大离散熵原理，探讨了对随机试验项目的优选问题：即压缩某种“不确定性”试验项目的实施与探索．并通过应用实例的计算，获得了满意的聚类效果．这种方法对于信息资料的数据处理及压缩“不确定性“验项目具有普遍意义．     

关于非齐次m阶马氏信源的渐近均分割性

本文研究非齐次m阶马氏信源的渐近均分割性，首先我们得到关于此种信源m 1元函数的一类强极限定理，作为推论，得到关于任意非齐次m阶马氏信源状态和熵密度的几个极限定理，最后得到一类非齐次m阶马氏信源的渐近均分割性。     

Molecular dynamics simulation of entropy and surface tension for grain boundary of α-Fe

The grain boundary is an interface and the surface tension is one of its important thermodynamic properties. In this paper, the surface tension of the ∑9 grain boundary for α-Fe at various temperatures and pressures is calculated by means of Computer Molecular Dynamics (CMD). The results agree satisfactorily with the experimental data. It is shown that the contribution of entropy to surface tension of grain boundary can be ignored. 用频域法实现圆环形目标物的计数

研究了用频域法实现圆环形目标物计数的方法。对空域中含有圆环形目标物的二值图像，经傅里叶变换后在频域内进行滤波，再经傅里叶反变换后取一阈值进行处理，则对应于圆环形目标物即变为一个实心体，然后对实心体进行计数即可实现对圆环形目标物的计数。对该方法进行了数学描述，并分别用模拟图像和实际图像进行了实验。结果表明，该方法消除噪声的效果好，对部分封闭圆的检测同样有效，且可用于目标物有粘连的情况。该方法对圆环形目标物的尺寸相差不大的情况更为有效。     

平衡规划问题的熵函数方法及其在混合交通流中的应用

将参变极值问题的极大熵函数方法应用到求解平衡规划问题中,通过先验分布信息和Kullback熵概念,给出了平衡规划问题基于Kullback熵表示的熵函数求解方法,并将平衡规划的极大熵函数方法应用于求解混合交通平衡分配问题．     

A Modified Szilard Engine: Measurement, Information, and Maxwell's Demon

Using an isolated measurement process, we calculate the effect measurement has on entropy for the multi-cylinder Szilard engine. We find that the system of cylinders possesses an entropy associated with cylinder total energy states, and that it records information transferred at measurement. Contrary to other's results, we find that the apparatus loses entropy due to measurement. The Second Law of Thermodynamics may be preserved if Maxwell's demon gains entropy moving the engine partition.

An improved algorithm for computing topological entropy

A new algorithm is presented for computing the topological entropy of a unimodal map of the interval. The accuracy of the algorithm is discussed and some graphs of the topological entropy which are obtained using the algorithm are displayed.     

Optimal reconstruction of the solution of the wave equation from inaccurate initial data

In the present paper, we consider the problem of the optimal reconstruction of the solution of the wave equation from the approximate values of the Fourier coefficients of the function specifying the initial form of the string. For an operator defined on the weight space of vectors from l ₂, we present the solution of the more general problem of reconstruction from the approximate values of the coordinates of these vectors.
