On the Dimensions of Commutative Subalgebras and Subgroups of Nilpotent Algebras and Lie Groups of Class 2

We obtain the functions that bound the dimensions of finite dimensional nilpotent associative or Lie algebras of class 2 over an algebraically closed field in terms of the dimensions of their commutative subalgebras. As a result, we also compute a similar function for complex nilpotent Lie groups of class 2.

Kaluza-Klein Type Robertson Walker Cosmological Model with Dynamical Cosmological Term Λ

In this paper we have analyzed the Kaluza-Klein type Robertson Walker (RW) cosmological models by considering three different forms of variable Λ: , and Λ∼ρ. It is found that, the connecting free parameters of the models with cosmic matter and vacuum energy density parameters are equivalent, in the context of higher dimensional space time. The expression for the look back time, luminosity distance and angular diameter distance are also derived. This work has thus generalized to higher dimensions the well-known results in four dimensional space time. It is found that there may be significant difference in principle at least, from the analogous situation in four dimensional space time.     

A Confined <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-Dimensional Harmonic Oscillator

We compute the energy eigenvalues for the N-dimensional harmonic oscillator confined in an impenetrable spherical cavity. The results show their dependence on the size of the cavity and the space dimension N. The obtained results are compared with those for the free N-dimensional harmonic oscillator, and as a result, the notion of fractional dimensions is pointed out. Finally, we examine the correlation between eigenenergies for confined oscillators in different dimensions.     

On solvability of boundary value problems for higher order nonlinear hyperbolic equations

are considered, where and are linear bounded functionals.Sufficient conditions of solvability and unique solvability of the general problem and its particular cases (Nicoletti type, Dirichlet, Lidstone and Periodic problems) are established.     

Global regularity for solutions to Dirichlet problem for discontinuous elliptic systems with nonlinearity q > 1 and with natural growth

In this paper we deal with the Hölder regularity up to the boundary of the solutions to a nonhomogeneous Dirichlet problem for second-order discontinuous elliptic systems with nonlinearity q > 1 and with natural growth. The aim of the paper is to clarify that the solutions of the above problem are always global Hölder continuous in the case of the dimension n = q without any kind of regularity assumptions on the coefficients. As a consequence of this sharp result, the singular sets $\Omega_0 \subset \OmegaIn this paper we deal with the H?lder regularity up to the boundary of the solutions to a nonhomogeneous Dirichlet problem for second-order discontinuous elliptic systems with nonlinearity q > 1 and with natural growth. Moreover we show that also for 1 < q < 2, but q close enough to 2, the solutions are global H?lder continuous for n = 2.
