Influence of some inorganic salts on the polarity of apolar polymer phases in capillary gas chromatography

Different stationary phases were prepared by mixing a series of inorganic salts with dimethylsiloxane polymer (SE-30) and then tested by capillary gas chromatography. It was demonstrated that the polarity (as evaluated by measurement of Rohrschneider constants) of the mixed stationary phases, which is inferior or equal to that of a medium-polar OV-25 phases, reached even lower values than SE-30 alone. The influence of NaF, NaCl, NaBr, AgNO₃, and other inorganic salts on the polarity of capillaries is reflected by a better resolution and shorter retention time of cis/trans isomers of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMES) as well as positional isomers of triglycerides.     

Glass capillary gas chromatography of amino acid enantiomers

Glass capillaries coated with Chirasil-Val, a chirally functionalised polysiloxane, are capable in principle of resolving all protein amino-acid enantiomers in a single run and within a short analysis time, thus allowing for example the quantitative amino acid determination by enantiomer labelling. The elution characteristics of the individual amino acids however are also dependent upon the chemical nature of the capillary wall surface, and a surface pretreatment is found to be necessary if all protein amino acids are to be analysed. Of the various methods of pretreatment tested, etching of borosilicate glass with gaseous HCl followed by deposition of colloidal silicic acid is considered to be the most suitable.

在非质子极性溶剂-二甲基乙酰胺中,室温下用碘乙烷与C_1—C_6脂肪酸及乳酸的四甲基铵盐反应制备各酸相应的乙酯。乙酯在15%的邻苯二甲酸二壬酯与6%的土温-80混合固定液填充柱上获得满意分离。用本法测定饮料酒中的低沸点有机酸含量,简便、快速、准确。     

Structure elucidation of triglycerides by chromatographic techniques. Part 1: Capillary GC of ozonized triglycerides

Structure determination of triglycerides according to their number of unsaturated fatty acids (N.U.F.A.) is more easily achieved after ozonolysis of their mixtures (fats and oils) than by capillary gas chromatographic analysis of the mixture as such. Analyses performed before and after ozonolysis of cocoa buttel, hazelnut oil, and a mixture of both fats illustrate the potential of this approach to the structure elucidation of triglycerides by chromatographic techniques.     

套索冠醚毛细管色谱柱的研制

用套索冠醚N,N′-双(2-甲基吡啶)-二氮杂-18-冠-6作为固定相,涂渍在弹性石英毛细管内,测其柱效、惰性、热稳定性、平均极性及选择性等性质.其结构由元素分析、红外光谱、核磁共振及质谱分析的试验数据所证实.试验表明,它具有良好的色谱性能、中等极性,适用于对醇、卤代烃、芳香烃等各类异构体的分离,并用分子结构观点探讨了保留机理.     

分子筛改性气—液毛细管柱及其性能考察

以原位合成法制备的分子筛膜对玻璃毛细管内壁进行改性后，成功地制备了常规口径及大口径分配ＳＣＯＴ柱，并对毛细管柱的性能进行了评价。     

Composition and major odorous compounds of the essential oil of Bifora radians,an aldehyde-producing weed

The composition of the essential oil of Bifora radians, an aldehyde-producing weed, has been investigated by capillary gas chromatography, coupled gas chromatography – mass spectrometry, on-line catalytic hydrogenation and coupled gas chromatography – infrared spectrometry. The nineteen compounds identified included eighteen aldehydes: seven alkanals (C6, C9, C10, C11, C12, C13, and C14), ten alkenals, including five (E)-2-alkenals (C12, C13, C14, C15, and C16), and one (E,E)-2,4-alkadienal (C13). Typical Bifora odors were attributed to three major (E)-2-alkenals, C12, C13, and C14.     

A way of establishing quality of measurements in gas analysis—national and international aspects

Standardising quality of measurements at both the national and international level results in a unity in measurement that may be regarded a synonym of traceability. In gas analysis, the key issue in achieving this aim is production of gaseous reference materials. Establishing a network of secondary measurement standards at gaseous CRM producers’ sites in Ukraine might be interesting for those involved in gas analysis activities. Inevitably, problems concerning the recognition of measuring capabilities of both national metrological institutes and local CRM producers are now an international issue. Thus, the problems of national adoption of international standards, as well as harmonisation between different international documents are currently relevant, and Ukrainian experience may be useful to others in this field. Large volume sample application by a simplified “closed” on-column injector in capillary gas chromatography

Summary A new simplified version of a closed on-column injector is introduced. Because of its design isobaric injection conditions do not have to be followed and a wide range of injection temperatures above the boiling point of the sample solvent can be chosen for on-column injections in capillary gas chromatography. Also, when following certain basic injection rules, injections of large sample volumes (20 l or more) give accurate and reproducible results without further problems.Presented at the 17th International Symposium on Chromatography, September 25–30, 1988, Vienna, Austria.
