The microalga Haematococcus pluvialis produces the pigment astaxanthin mainly in esterified form with a multitude of fatty acids, which results in a complex mixture of carotenol mono‐ and diesters. For rapid fingerprinting of these esters, matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF/TOF‐MS) might be an alternative to traditional chromatographic separation combined with MS. Investigation of ionization and fragmentation of astaxanthin mono‐ and diester palmitate standards in MALDI‐TOF/TOF‐MS showed that sodium adduct parent masses [M + Na]+ gave much simpler MS2 spectra than radical / protonated [M]+● / [M + H]+ parents. [M + Na]+ fragments yielded diagnostic polyene‐specific eliminations and fatty acid neutral losses, whereas [M]+● / [M + H]+ fragmentation resulted in a multitude of non‐diagnostic daughters. For diesters, a benzonium fragment, formed by polyene elimination, was required for identification of the second fatty acid attached to the astaxanthin backbone. Parents were forced into [M + Na]+ ionization by addition of sodium acetate, and best signal‐to‐noise ratios were obtained in the 0.1 to 1.0 mM range. This method was applied to fingerprinting astaxanthin esters in a crude H. pluvialis extract. Prior to MALDI‐TOF/TOF‐MS, the extract was fractionated by normal phase Flash chromatography to obtain fractions enriched in mono‐ and diesters and to remove pheophytin a, which compromised monoester signals. Cooling-down of thermal thick probes after flash excitation – A measure for the real energy density?
Though flash lamps are one of the most applied heat sources in the field of Thermographic Testing (TT) using active thermography, only little is known about the actually achieved energy input into test objects. In this paper, an easy to realize sensor concept is proposed and experimentally evaluated. The concept is based on the measurement of the surface temperature of a thermal thick probe after flash excitation. After considering the sensor concept with FEM simulations the experimental investigation of four materials (two polymer and two building materials) is described. It will be shown that a suited coating is essential for the realization of the sensor concept. The experimental results prove the suitability of black rigid PVC as the most promising material. Using a coated PVC sample the energy density of short laser pulses, similar to flashes of flash lamps, could be determined exactly with an estimated relative uncertainty of only a few percent. 相似文献

This study investigates the recovery of electric resistivity in pure iron, Fe–0.6Ni and Fe–1.5Mn as related to isochronal annealing following 1 MeV proton irradiation at lower temperature than 70 K, focusing on the relationship between solute atoms and irradiation defects. Both nickel and manganese prevent stage ID recovery, which corresponds to correlated recombination. Stage II recovery is also changed by the addition of a solute, which corresponds to the migration of small interstitial clusters. In both pure iron and Fe–0.6Ni, no evident difference was observed in the stage III region, which corresponds to the migration of vacancies. In contrast, two substages appeared in the Fe–1.5Mn at a higher temperature than stage IIIB appeared in pure iron. These substages are considered to represent the release of irradiation-induced defects, which was trapped by manganese. 相似文献

Porous organic polymers have an open architecture, excellent stability, and tunable structural components, revealing great application potential in the field of fluorescence imaging, but this part of the research is still in its infancy. In this study, we aimed to tailor the physical and chemical characteristics of indocyanine green using sulfonic acid groups and conjugated fragments, and prepared amino-grafted porous polymers. The resulting material had excellent solvent and thermal stability, and possessed a relatively large pore structure with a size of 3.4 nm. Based on the synergistic effect of electrostatic bonding and π–π interactions, the fluorescent chromogenic agent, indocyanine green, was tightly incorporated into the pore cavity of POP solids through a one-step immersion method. Accordingly, the fluorescent chromogenic POP demonstrated excellent imaging capabilities in biological experiments. This preparation of fluorescent chromogenic porous organic polymer illustrates a promising application of POP-based solids in both fluorescence imaging and biomedicine applications. 相似文献
