On the pivot structure for the weighing matrix W(12,11)

In the present article we concentrate our study on the growth problem for the weighing matrix W(12,11) and show that the unique W(12,11) has three pivot structures. An improved algorithm for extending a k × k (0,+,-) matrix to a W(n,n-1), if possible, has been developed to simplify the proof. For the implementation of the algorithm special emphasis is given to the notions of data structures and parallel processing.     

Measures on minimally generated Boolean algebras

We investigate properties of minimally generated Boolean algebras. It is shown that all measures defined on such algebras are separable but not necessarily weakly uniformly regular. On the other hand, there exist Boolean algebras small in terms of measures which are not minimally generated. We prove that under CH a measure on a retractive Boolean algebra can be nonseparable. Some relevant examples are indicated. Also, we give two examples of spaces satisfying some kind of Efimov property.     

Sol-gel preparation and optical properties of SiO2-Ta2O5 glass

Tantalum-doped silica glass was fabricated by the sol-gel process in order to obtain a glass with a high refractive index for optical use. A crack-free, clear glass rod was successfully prepared from a low-density gel and used as the core material for fabricating optical fibers. Transmission loss in the fabricated fibers was high, in the range of 10³-10⁴ dB/km, which may be caused by coloration due to the multivalency of tantalum; however, the loss was reduced by nearly one order of magnitude by heat treatment at 800 °C, that is, to 75 dB/km at a wavelength of 0.8 μm.

Über die abstandsverträglichen Abbildungen auf dem Kreis und auf der reellen Geraden

Zusammenfassung. Eine Abbildung zwischen metrischen R?umen hei?t abstandsvertr?glich, wenn der Abstand der Bilder zweier Punkte nur vom Abstand der Punkte selbst abh?ngt. Wir zeigen, dass eine Abbildung genau dann abstandsvertr?glich ist, wenn der Cauchyschen Funktionalgleichung genügt, also ein Endomorphismus der Gruppe ist. Ein entsprechendes Resultat gilt auch für die abstandsvertr?glichen Abbildungen des Kreises (mit der Multiplikation komplexer Zahlen als Gruppenverknüpfung). Damit kann man sowohl alle messbaren abstandsvertr?glichen Abbildungen von bzw. in sich angeben, als auch einen Nachweis für die Existenz nichtmessbarer abstandsvertr?glicher Abbildungen auf und erbringen. Synthesis and structures of nitroxyalkyl methylphosphonates

The reactions of ethylene glycol mononitrate and glycerol 1,3-dinitrate with methylphosphonic dichloride afforded new nitroxyalkyl methylphosphonates.     

Phase transformation of Ni-B, Ni-P diffusion barrier deposited electrolessly on Cu interconnect

In this paper, we report that the phase transformation of Ni-B, Ni-P diffusion barriers deposited electrolessly on Cu, for the reason that the Ni-P layer is a more effective diffusion barrier than the Ni-B layer. The Ni₃B crystallized was decomposed to Ni and B₂O₃ above 400 °C and the Ni₃P crystallized was decomposed to Ni and P₂O₅ above 600 °C respectively in Ar atmosphere. Also, the Ni₃B was decomposed to Ni and free B above 400 °C and the Ni₃P was decomposed to Ni and free P above 600 °C respectively in H₂ atmosphere. The decomposed Ni formed a solid solution with Cu. The Cu diffusion occurred above 400 °C for Ni-B layer and above 600 °C for Ni-P layer, respectively. Because the decomposition temperature of Ni-P layer is about 200 °C higher than that of Ni-B layer, the Ni-P layer is a more effective barrier for Cu than the Ni-B layer.     

Establishment of Illuminance Scale at UME with an Accurately Calibrated Radiometer

Traceability in illuminance measurements at the National Metrology Institute of Turkey (TüBITAK-UME) was established in 2003 with a detector-based realization. The new measurement technique was developed for the determination of illuminance responsivity and upgrating of the illuminance scale. The unit of the illuminance responsivity, in A/lx, was measured with an expanded uncertainty of 0.2% (k = 2) by supplying using the developed scanning technique for the calculation of color correction factor. The surface of a radiometer was scanned using a double-monochromator facility upgraded with an x-y scanning system. The illuminance responsivity as a function of bandpass and temperature were also investigated in this study. To use a radiometer in the photometric applications of metrology, a light-sensitive device, a so-called trap detector, was characterized by measuring the absolute responsivity, the non-linearity, and spatial non-uniformity.     

喷气式Z箍缩等离子体辐射软X射线能谱的研究

研制了一台五通道ROSS-FILTER-PIN软X射线能谱仪，能谱范围为0.28—1.56keV.它由5个连续能段组成，每个能段的起止边由罗斯滤片对(ROSS-FILTERS)的L或K吸收边确定.罗斯滤片对的厚度通过优化计算得到，为了使每个通道的灵敏区外响应(即所测能段外响应)与通道总响应之比最小，在滤片对的第二滤片上镀上了一定厚度的第一滤片材料；为了缩减滤片表面积以增强低能滤片的抗冲击能力及方便滤片加工，能谱仪采用了小探测面积的PIN探测器(1mm²).借助此能谱仪，测量得到了喷气式Z箍缩(Z-pinch)等离子体辐射软X射线能谱的分布，并研究了软X射线产额随箍缩状况的变化趋势. 关键词： Z箍缩等离子体 罗斯滤片 软X射线能谱
