The complex formation reaction between iodine and 1,7-diaza-15-crown-5 (DA15C5) has been studied spectrophotometrically in chloroform at 25°C. The resulting 1:2 (DA15C5:I2) molecular complex was formulated as (DA15C5...;I+)I 3 . The spectrophotometric results, as well as the conductivity measurements, revealed that the gradual release of triiodide ion from its contact ion paired form in the molecular complex into the solution is the rate determining step of the reaction. The rate constant was calculated ask=(8.8±0.2)×10–3 min–1. The formation constant of the molecular complex was evaluated from the computer fitting of the absorbance-mole ratio data as logK f=6.89±0.09.  相似文献

This paper reports a simple and highly selective method for the separation, preconcentration, and determination of trace amounts of thorium and uranium in some complex samples via staircase flotation. The method is based on the initial flotation of the Th(IV)‐arsenazo III complex in the presence of U(VI) from a solution of 5 mol dm?3 HCl, then reduction of U(VI) to U(IV) and repetition of the flotation step. In both steps, the floated complex was dissolved in a 5‐mL portion of methanol and its absorbance was measured at 655 nm, spectrophotometrically. For a 30‐mL portion of the sample, Beer's law was obeyed over the concentration ranges of 3.40 × 10?7to 3.06 × 10?6 mol dm?3 for Th(IV) and3.40 × 10?7 to 3.40 × 10?6 mol dm?3 for U(IV) with the apparent molar absorptivity of 4.20 × 105 dm3 mol?1 cm?1 and 3.59 × 105 dm3 mol?1 cm?1, respectively. The RSDs (n = 7) corresponding to 1.7 × 10?6 mol dm?3 of Th(IV) and U(IV) were obtained as 1.7% and 1.87%. The detection limits (7 blanks) for both the metal ions were found to be 1.7 × 10?7 mol dm?3. The important benefit of the method is that the determinations are free from the interference of almost all cations and anions found in the complex matrixes, such as seawater samples. The proposed method was also applied to reference materials, and the determinations were shown to have good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

The photoresponses of Phycomyces, including phototropism and photocontrol of sporangiophore development, are mediated primarily by blue and UV light. Recent results on these two responses indicated a subsidiary role for green light. We have measured in vivo light-induced absorbance changes (LIAC) in mycelial samples of a caroteneless (carB) strain to compare the effectiveness of UV, blue, and green light. In the dual-wavelength kinetic mode of the spectrophotometer, measuring wavelengths of 445 and 470 nm were chosen, because green light produces substantial absorbance changes between these two wavelengths. Fluence-response curves were measured for 13 wavelengths between 365 and 530 nm, and for variable exposure times between 0.5 and 320 s. With one exception (365 nm), the curves were biphasic. The low fluence component was generally sigmoidal with an abrupt rise. The high fluence component failed to reach saturation for the fluences tested (less than 70 μmol m−2 s−1). Using the inferred threshold fluences of these two components as criterion effects, we obtained two action spectra. For the low fluence component, the action spectrum showed major peaks at 394, 450, and 530 nm and a minor peak at 416 nm. The high fluence component action spectrum showed very little sensitivity in the blue region. The major sensitivity was in the near UV, and a relatively small peak appeared in the green part of the spectrum at 507 nm. The biphasic character of the fluence-response curves suggests that two photosystems are responsible for the absorbance changes. The low fluence photosystem is sensitive mainly to blue and UV light and may thus represent a physiological blue-light photoreceptor. The high fluence photosystem is clearly not of this type. It (and perhaps the low fluence system as well) may mediate some of the subsidiary physiological effects of green light.  相似文献

A new solid-phase extraction method has been developed for the selective extraction of Cu(II) in an aqueous system using freshly precipitated lead diethyldithiocarbamate (Pb(DDTC)2) as a reagent. The method is based on the quantitative replacement of Pb(II) ions in the solid Pb(DDTC)2 phase by Cu(II) ions present in aqueous phase. The obtained solid Cu(DDTC)2 phase was dissolved in chloroform and determined spectrophotometrically at 435 nm. Beer’s law was obeyed over the concentration range of 0.2–5 mg dm−3. The molar absorptivity and the Sandell’s sensitivity coefficients of the solutions were 1.0689 × 104 dm3 mol−1 cm−1 and 0.0060 μg cm−2, respectively. The optimum conditions for each parameter were experimentally determined and possible interferences of various salts were also studied. The method has been validated and applied to determine Cu(II) in various alloys and water samples.  相似文献

The dissociation constants of fumaric acid were extracted from UV-vis spectra in the 10–90 C range. These values were used to extract thermodynamic parameters that showed the temperature effects on the dissociations reactions to be dominantly driven by the solvent. The molar absorption coefficients for the fumaric acid, the bifumarate and fumarate species, can be accurately reproduced with the two-term Gauss–Lorentz equation. Deconvolution of these bands showed strong π–π transitions for all species and weaker charge-transfer-to-solvent transitions for the charged species. TD-DFT calculations were used to identify the most important molecular orbitals involved in the vertical excitations of the fumaric acid species. The electron population and their states of delocalization were also estimated with topological analyses of the electron density and of the Becke–Edgecombe Electron Localization Function.  相似文献

The characterization of binary and ternary complexes of benzoate, lauryl hexaoxyethylene (C12E6) and -CD is presented. The complexation equilibrium was characterized by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, titration microcalorimetry, capillary electrophoresis, and 2D ROESY 1H-NMR. Results suggested that -CD forms one complex with C12E6in the stoichiometric ratio of -CD : C12E61.5 : 1, with a stability constant 1.3 × 105 M-1.5. The 2-D ROESY 1H-NMR spectrum indicated that C12E6is included inside the -CD cavity. The primary binding site of C12E6 is on the lauryl subunit of this molecule. Analogous to a previously reported study of -CD, the combination of -CD and C12E6precipitated from the solution. Addition of benzoate seemed to dissolve the precipitate and nearly doubled the apparent stability constant of the complex. Results from the various techniques supported formation of ternary complexes between -CD, C12E6, and benzoate.  相似文献

The interaction of phenosafranine (PSF) with a glycosaminoglycans of heparin (Hep) in aqueous solution has been characterized by UV-Vis absorption spectrophotometry and cyclic voltammetry in pH 1.5 Britton-Robinson (B-R) buffer solution. The addition of Hep caused decrease of the absorbance of PSF at 532 nm and the redox peak current of PSF. The study showed that an supramolecular complex of PSF-Hep was formed because of the electrostatic attraction of negatively charged Hep with the positively charged PSF, which resulted in the decrease of the equilibrium concentration of PSF in solutions, and the decrease of the absorbance or the peak current of PSF. The stoichiometry of the Hep/PSF complex was further calculated by voltammetric data with the result of 1:1 complex.  相似文献
