In this work, we report the theoretical and experimental investigations on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties for Gd0.5Pr0.5Al2 compound in different magnetic fields. The magnetization features indicate that Gd0.5Pr0.5Al2 is ferrimagnetic at low temperatures. We also present data from X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) experiments for this compound, with which we have confirmed that the magnetic moments of the Pr ions are antiparallel to the magnetic moments of the Gd ions. The magnetocaloric parameters, ΔTS and ΔST, were obtained from calorimetric data and both curves present normal and inverse magnetocaloric effect. A theoretical model for ferrimagnetic coupling, including the crystalline electrical field anisotropy, was used to describe the ΔTS and ΔST experimental results.  相似文献

Two extended cavity laser diodes are phase-locked, thanks to an intra-cavity electro-optical modulator. The phase-locked loop bandwidth is on the order of 10 MHz, which is about twice larger than when the feedback correction is applied on the laser current. The phase noise reaches −120 dBrad2/Hz at 10 kHz. This new scheme reduces the residual laser phase noise, which constitutes one of the dominant contributions in the sensitivity limit of atom interferometers using two-photon transitions.  相似文献

Room temperature visible and near infrared optical absorption and emission spectra of Sm3+-doped lead borate titanate aluminum fluoride (LBTAF) glasses with molar composition (50−x) PbO−30H3BO3−10TiO2−10AlF3xSm2O3 (x=0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0) have been analyzed. Energy parameters for the 4f5 electronic configuration of Sm3+: LBTAF glasses have been evaluated using free-ion Hamiltonian model. The experimental oscillator strengths of absorption bands have been used to determine the J-O parameters. Fluorescence spectra were recorded by exciting the samples with 402 nm. Using the J-O parameters and luminescence data, the radiative transition probabilities (AR), branching ratios (βR) and stimulated emission cross-sections (σe) were obtained. The decay curves of 4G5/26H7/2 transition exhibit single exponential for lower concentration (0.1 mol%) and non-exponential for higher concentrations. This concentration quenching has been attributed to the energy transfer through cross-relaxation between Sm3+ ions. From the values of the radiative parameters, it is concluded that 1.0 mol% Sm3+-doped LBTAF glass may be used for laser active medium with emission wavelength at 600 nm.  相似文献

We perform the ab initio calculation for obtaining the density of states and magnetic properties of ZrFe2 Laves phase compound based on the method of augmented plane waves plus local orbital The results indicate that the ferromagnetic state is more stable than the paramagnetic one, but with a slightly larger volume. The 3d - 4d exchange interactions between Fe and Zr electrons lead to the antiparallel coupling for Fe 3d and Zr 4d states, which is responsible for the ferrimagnetic ordering of the compound. The resulting magnetic moment of about 1.98μB for Fe is spatially localized near the Fe site, while around Zr a small but extended negative spin states causes a moment of about -0.44 μB. Moreover, the resulting magnetic moments with the generalized gradient approximation are more consistent with experimental values than that of the local-spin density approximation.  相似文献

We report a detailed theoretical calculation of the electronic band structure of CeO2 in cubic and orthorhombic phases under pressure using a tight-binding linear muffin-tin orbital method (TB-LMTO) within local density approximation (LDA). The compressibility behavior of this compound was discussed in the light of the changes occurring in the electronic structure. Apart from the electronic band structure and structural stability calculations, the density of states (DOS) and Fermi energies (Ef) at various pressures are calculated. The calculated lattice parameter, transition pressure, bulk modulus and the pressure-volume relation are found out to be in good agreement with experimental results.  相似文献

Theoretical interpretations of X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) at rare-earth (called R hereafter) L23 absorption edges are reviewed using differing models, depending on the material under investigation. In the first chapter, we present an overview of recent developments for XMCD in XAS with a few general remarks, especially at R atom absorption edges. In Section 2, we first describe basic mechanism of XMCD at L23 edges of R systems, and then we essentially discuss two examples of XMCD spectra in: (i) R2Fe14B metallic compounds, with the help of a cluster model, and (ii) RFe2 Laves-phase compounds, using a tight-binding approximation for R 5d and Fe 3d conducting states. A good agreement between theory and experiment for R2Fe14B suggests that a cluster model provides a valuable method to quantitatively calculate XMCD spectra of R systems, even with quite complicated atomic arrangements. For RFe2 systems the XMCD spectral shape, especially for the L2 edge of heavy R elements, is more complicated than those of R2Fe14B systems, and this is explained by the competition of some different XMCD mechanisms. In Section 3, we focus on special series of Ce systems, related to XAS and XMCD studies at the Ce L23 edges. Two clearly differing cases are interpreted: (i) A well localized 4f1 system, i.e. CeRu2Ge2; (ii) A less localized 4f1 system, i.e. CeFe2, with a 3d partner. Then, from a more experimental point of view, we investigate the influence of substitution on the low temperature properties of CePd3 compounds, i.e. Ce(Pd1-xMnx)3Ce(Pd1-xMnx)3 alloys where x   is about 0.03, giving rise to (CePd3)8Mn(CePd3)8Mn ordered structure. We give another example: Ce(Pd1-xNix)3Ce(Pd1-xNix)3 alloys with x taken up to about 0.25. Also the Ce L23 XMCD signal measured in pure CePd3 demonstrates that in the Ce based dense Kondo materials, only the 4f1 channel yields a magnetic response.  相似文献

Gallium nitride (GaN) doped by Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions have been synthesized using powder technology. The emission and absorption spectra have been obtained by using photoluminesence technique and correlated with the local structural environments. The room temperature yellow emission from GaN grains as well as from Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions has been observed for nano- as well as for microGaN grains. Additionally, for GaN:1%Eu3 micrograins the blue emission from GaN nanocrystals has been observed.  相似文献

Resonant Auger spectra of O2 clusters excited at the O1s edge are reported. After excitation to the repulsive 1s-1* state, the resulting resonant Auger spectrum displays features that remain constant in kinetic energy as the photon energy is detuned. The shift between known atomic fragment features and these features is consistent with that observed for atoms and clusters in singly charged states in direct photoemission. These findings are strong evidence for the existence of molecular ultrafast dissociation processes within the clusters or on their surface.  相似文献

The Autler-Townes (AT) splitting in femtosecond photoelectron spectrum of three-level Li2 molecules is theoretically investigated using time-dependent quantum wave packet method. With proper femtosecond laser pulses, three peaks of the AT splitting can be observed in the photoelectron spectrum. The AT splitting stems from rapid Rabi oscillation caused by intense ultrashort laser pluses. The effects of laser parameters on the molecular ionization dynamics are also discussed.  相似文献
