Samples of single-crystal silicon implanted with iron-group ions are investigated by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR).
The change in relative permittivity μr of the silicon layer modified by implanted nickel ions is found. The accumulation kinetics of paramagnetic centers of amorphous
regions of silicon implanted with Co, Ni, and Fe are shown to be different. Magnetic hysteresis for both the wide EPR line
due to implanted impurities and the EPR line due to dangling chemical silicon bonds is found.

A solid spin-labeled material was obtained starting from 2-chloro-3,5-dinitro-N-(4-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-piperidine-1-oxyl)-benzamide) and aminopropyl-silica gel. Stability tests showed that even after several months the spin-labeled material had the same properties as immediately after synthesis. EPR properties of the TEMPO-derivatized silica were studied as a function of solvent polarity and temperature. Rotational correlation times were calculated from EPR spectra and correlated with solvent characteristics and temperature. Polar solvents induce a fast motion of the spin-label, clearly seen in the EPR spectra by the apparition of the well-known TEMPO radical triplet. The solid spin-labeled (dry) sample showed a high interspin interaction, which can be disrupted not only by different (liquid) solvents, but also by absorption of different solids, like cyclodextrins, dendrimers or polyethyleneglycols. Also, changes induced by the temperature were studied in the case of toluene wet sample. From 150 to 370 K, the spectrum is changing from a slow motion spectrum type to a fast motion regime. A theoretical method for studying the inter-relation between electronic and molecular structure has been proposed based on the complete energy matrices for a d3 configuration ion in a tetragonal ligand-field. By means of this method, the local structure for Cr3+ ion doped in oxides TiO2 (anatase) and MgO has been determined. The calculated results indicate that the local structure of the (CrO6)9− cluster in TiO2:Cr3+ and MgO:Cr3+ systems exists as a compressed distortion relative to the regular octahedron. Meanwhile, the dependence of the EPR zero-field splitting parameter D on the local structure parameter ΔR (ΔR=R1−R2) has been revealed. In addition, the relation between the EPR g-factors (g,g,Δg) and the orbit reduction factor k has been discussed for the two systems, suggesting that the orbit reduction factor k is very important to understand the EPR g-factors. 相似文献

We found that the interaction of paramagnetic centers that have different relaxation times differs fundamentally from the
interaction of centers having close relaxation times. Simulation showed that in this case there is an anomalous redistribution
of the spectral-line intensity from the center to the wings with a virtually preserved distance between extremal points (super-Lorentzian
shape of the line), which leads to underestimation of the total intensity recorded. The results obtained make it possible
to explain a number of aspects of the radiospectroscopy of carbon materials of practical importance such as the nature of
the generally accepted maximum on the curve for the dependence of the total intensity of an EPR signal on the temperature
of the heat treatment of organic compounds and the degree of metamorphism of natural coals, the specific features of the effect
of oxygen molecules and paramagnetic ions of metals on the EPR spectra of carbon materials, etc.

Attenuation of the signals of the nutation echo of E’-centers in crystalline and glass quartz was experimentally investigated
at room temperature. The nutation echo in EPR was excited in the single-photon regime and formed by two Zeeman-field pulses
with duration t1 and t2 (t1<t2) and time interval between them τ. The echo signal was recorded during the second pulse at t≈2t1+τ. It was established that this signal attenuation, measured as t1 increased, follows an, exponential law, its rate Γ is much less than 1/T2 (T2 is the transverse relaxation time), and it linearly increases with an increase in the amplitude of the exciting SHF field
B1. The parameters of the dependence of Γ on B1 correlate with the parameters of the analogous dependence revealed previously for attenuation of nutation of E’-centers in
quartz in the two-photon regime at T=4.2 K. At the same time, the value of Γ measured with different values of τ is independent
of B1 and is equal to 1/T1, where T1 is the longitudinal relaxation time.

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy in combination with thermal methods were used to identify and characterize Mn2+ in the Chinese loess that is a multimineral system. EPR spectra of the loess samples from the classic loess-paleosol section in central China show the presence of trace amounts of Mn2+; whereas paleosol samples present no Mn2+ EPR signal. The spectral changes upon step heating from room temperature to 1000 °C suggest that this EPR signal in the loess arises from Mn substituted into CaCO3. This study provides a direct evidence that the loess-paleosol profiles were formed under the changing redox conditions caused by a past climatic change. 相似文献
