Mechanism of deleading of silicate glass by 0.5 N HNO3

Mechanism of removal of lead from silicate glass containing 68.5 wt% PbO by 0.5 N HNO₃ was investigated by incorporation of the chemical-analyses/weight-loss data into shrinking-core model (SCM) and minimization of the difference. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS) were used to determine the compositional changes of the lead-silicate glass (LSG) samples. Dual inter-diffusion chemical reaction mechanisms having respective activation energies of 83.49 and 47.80 kJ/mol dominated the deleading process.     

Diffusion of acetophenone in peroxide cross-linked cable compounds

The diffusion of acetophenone in peroxide cross-linked low-density polyethylene (LDPE) medium-voltage cable was investigated with Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) microscopy. The influence of storage under normal climate and for up to 2 years on the acetophenone profile are discussed. The diffusion rate and the coefficient of diffusion of acetophenone in cross-linked LDPE were determined. It could be shown that the coefficient of diffusion is independent of the morphology of the medium-voltage cables investigated.     

Surfaces with isotropic Blaschke tensor in S 3

Let M2 be an umbilic-free surface in the unit sphere S3. Four basic invariants of M2 under the Moebius transformation group of S3 are Moebius metric g, Blaschke tensor A, Moebius second fundamental form B and Moebius form Φ. We call the Blaschke tensor is isotropic if there exists a smooth function λ such that A = λg. In this paper, We classify all surfaces with isotropic Blaschke tensor in S3.     

Some new integral inequalities for conjugate A-harmonic tensors

A new kind of weight-Ar^λ3 （λ1, λ2, Ω）-weight is used to prove the local and global integral inequalities for conjugate A-harmonic tensors, which can be regarded as generalizations of the classical results. Some applications of the above results to quasiregular mappings are given.
