Sm(II)-modified periodic mesoporous silica (PMS), Sm[N(SiHMe2)2]2(THF)x@MCM-41, was used for the synthesis of Sm(II) alkyl, alkoxide, and indenyl surface species via secondary ligand exchange. The performance of the novel Sm(II)-based organometallic–inorganic hybrid materials as initiators for the graft polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) is reported. All of the Sm(II) hybrid materials including the new PMMA–PMS composites were characterized via N2 physisorption, elemental analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The organic–inorganic composites revealed complete pore blockage as well as enrichment and strong adhesion of the polymer at the exterior of the porous silica material.  相似文献

The focus of this review is on host-guest composites with photonic antenna properties. The material generally consists of cylindrical zeolite L crystals the channels of which are filled with dye molecules. The synthesis is based on the fact that molecules can diffuse into individual channels. This means that, under the appropriate conditions, they can also leave the zeolite by the same way. In some cases, however, it is desirable to block their way out by adding a closure molecule. Functionalization of the closure molecules allows tuning of, for example, wettability, refractive index, and chemical reactivity. The supramolecular organization of the dyes inside the channels is a first stage of organization. It allows light harvesting within a certain volume of a dye-loaded nanocrystalline zeolite and radiationless transport to both ends of the cylinder or from the ends to the center. The second stage of organization is the coupling to an external acceptor or donor stopcock fluorophore at the ends of the channels, which can trap or inject electronic excitation energy. The third stage of organization is the coupling to an external device through a stopcock molecule. The wide-ranging tunability of these highly organized materials offers fascinating new possibilities for exploring excitation-energy-transfer phenomena, and challenges for developing new photonic devices.  相似文献

Parasitic diseases such as sleeping sickness, Chagas' heart disease, and malaria are major health problems in poverty-stricken areas. Antiparasitic drugs that are not only active but also affordable and readily available are urgently required. One approach to finding new drugs and rediscovering old ones is based on enzyme inhibitors that paralyze antioxidant systems in the pathogens. These antioxidant ensembles are essential to the parasites as they are attacked in the human host by strong oxidants such as peroxynitrite, hypochlorite, and H2O2. The pathogen-protecting system consists of some 20 thiol and dithiol proteins, which buffer the intraparasitic redox milieu at a potential of -250 mV. In trypanosomes and leishmania the network is centered around the unique dithiol trypanothione (N1,N8-bis(glutathionyl)spermidine). In contrast, malaria parasites have a more conservative dual antioxidative system based on glutathione and thioredoxin. Inhibitors of antioxidant enzymes such as trypanothione reductase are, indeed, parasiticidal but they can also delay or prevent resistance against a number of other antiparasitic drugs.  相似文献

Encouraging results obtained for modulation of gene expression by antisense oligonucleotides and their analogues have kindled hopes for a new generation of therapeutics against viral infections, cancer, and many other diseases. Among such analogues, oligo(nucleoside phosphorothioate)s (Oligo-S) have generally shown the highest efficacy in inhibiting the biosynthesis of “unwanted” proteins. The first clinical trials of antisense agents are now in progress using Oligo-S against genital warts and acute myeloid leukemia, and tests of Oligo-S against AIDS should follow soon. Nevertheless, their mechanism of action, internalization, cellular trafficking, subcellular localization, and interaction with cellular proteins is still poorly understood. It is assumed a priori that application involves rapid and efficient molecular recognition of target RNA by Oligo-S; however, the effects of the chirality of Oligo-S have so far been unappreciated, because Oligo-S has not yet been synthesized with stereocontrol. Indeed, the diastereomeric composition of Oligo-S has never been determined, primarily because of the lack of appropriate analytical methods. Since each of the diastereomers is a stereochemically unique chemical entity, questions arise as to which diastereomer is responsible for an observed biological response, including positive (curative) or possibly negative (toxic) side effects. In this review we intend provide a perhaps somewhat speculative assessment of the problems associated with the stereo-controlled synthesis of Oligo-S and to discuss the state-of-the-art in this field including strategies that may lead to Oligo-S of predetermined chirality. This article is not intended to discourage researchers from further studies of dia-steromeric mixtures of Oligo-S as potential pharmaceuticals. Throughout the history of medicinal chemistry numerous useful medicines were discovered, developed, and employed without the detailed knowledge of their structure. Indeed, the composition of the vaccines discovered by Pasteur is a subject of vigorous study still today.  相似文献

Dimethylcarbonate (DMC) is a valuable methylating reagent that can replace methyl halides and dimethylsulfate in the methylation of a variety of nucleophiles. It couples tunable reactivity and unprecedented selectivity towards mono-C- and mono-N-methylation. In addition, it is a prototype example of a green reagent, because it is nontoxic, is made by a clean process, is biodegradable, and reacts in the presence of a catalytic amount of base, thereby avoiding the formation of undesirable inorganic salts as by-products. Depending on the reaction conditions, DMC can be reacted under plug-flow, CSTR, or batch conditions. Other remarkable reactions are those where DMC behaves as an oxidant. The reactivity of other carbonates is reported as well.  相似文献

The crystal structures of molecular complexes betweenmeso- 1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethanediol and two bisimines (N,N-(dibenzylidene)-ethylenediamine and glyoxylidene-bis(2,4-dimethyl-3-pentyl-amine) are reported at different temperatures. The structure-determining motif of the cocrystalline arrangement is one single O-H . N hydrogen bond resulting in infinite ladderlike polymers. The supramolecular structure is formed by recognition of fitting species: Thed- orl-isomers do not arrange in such structures.1H NMR experiments show that no prearrangements take place by forming complexes in solution.  相似文献

The phenomenon of agostic interactions is reviewed and the nature of the interaction is revisited. A historical perspective is followed by an overview of experimental techniques used to diagnose agostic behavior, and previous interpretations of agostic bonding are presented. A series of simple metal alkyl complexes is considered and a new model for the phenomenon in d(0) systems is developed which sets them apart from agostic late-transition-metal complexes. Factors such as the valence electron count and coordination number of the metal center are revealed to be unimportant in facilitating the interaction in most d(0) systems. The charge density distribution in several transition-metal alkyl complexes is explored by experimental and theoretical techniques, including the powerful "Atoms in Molecules" approach. Local charge concentrations are shown to play an important role in the agostic interaction. Finally, we demonstrate for the first time a way to manipulate and control the magnitude and disposition of such local charge concentrations, and hence the strength of agostic interactions in d(0) metal alkyl complexes.  相似文献

In response to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on organic chemistry laboratory teaching, this article analyzes and discusses the current limitation of traditional organic chemistry laboratory teaching. Taking the "preparation of n-bromobutane" as an example, a new "online-offline and virtual-actual combination" teaching mode with the combination of "Tencent Meeting, MLabs, laboratory and WeChat group" is introduced. The practice of the new mode of teaching includes the following steps: pre-class online guiding by teacher, student preview and practice based on the virtual simulation platform, students and teacher discussion and operation in laboratory, and post-classcomprehensive assessment and Q&A", and good teaching effects have been received. It is significant in cultivating and improving the independent innovation and practical ability, and provides reference for the organic chemistry laboratory teaching reform and also lays a foundation for the construction of "outstanding course" of organic chemistry.  相似文献
