The existence of coincidence points and common fixed points for four mappings satisfying generalized contractive conditions without exploiting the notion of continuity of any map involved therein, in a cone metric space is proved. In this paper, the concept of a pair of non-linear contraction type mappings in a metric space of hyperbolic type is introduced and the conditions guaranteeing the existence of a common fixed point for such non-linear contractions are established. Presented results generalize and improve some of the known results. An example is constructed to show that our theorems are genuine generalizations of the main theorems of Assad, ?iri?, Khan et al., Rhoades and Imdad and Kumar. We prove a common fixed point theorem of Gregus type for four mappings satisfying a contractive condition of integral type in metric spaces using the concept of weak compatibility which generalizes Theorem 2 of [A. We show that the Jungck iteration scheme can be used to approximate the common fixed points of some weakly compatible pairs of generalized quasicontractive operators defined on metric spaces. The existence of coincidence points are also discussed for those pair of maps. The results are generalizations of well known results of the convergence of Picard iterations for single self maps of Banach spaces. In particular, the results improve, generalize and extend the recent results of Berinde [V. Berinde, A common fixed point theorem for compatible quasi contractive self mappings in metric spaces, Applied Mathematics and Computation 213 (2009) 348-354] and answers the open question posed in the paper. 相似文献

An issue of considerable importance involves the allocation of fixed costs or common revenue among a set of competing entities in an equitable way. Based on the data envelopment analysis (DEA) theory, this paper proposes new methods for (i) allocating fixed costs to decision making units (DMUs) and (ii) distributing common revenue among DMUs, in such a way that the relative efficiencies of all DMUs remain unchanged and the allocations should reflect the relative efficiencies and the input-output scales of individual DMUs. In this comment we analyze the paper [Abdelhalim Ebaid, S.M. Khaled, New types of exact solutions for nonlinear Schrodinger equation with cubic nonlinearity, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 235 (2011) 1984-1992]. Using the traveling wave, Ebaid and Khaled have found “new types of exact solutions for nonlinear Schrodinger equation with cubic nonlinearity”. We demonstrate that the authors studied the well-known nonlinear ordinary differential equation with the well-known general solution. We illustrate that Ebaid and Khaled have looked for some exact solution for the reduction of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation taking the general solution of the same equation into account. 相似文献
