Criteria on the artificial compliance inherent to the intrinsic cohesive zone

This Note presents criteria on the artificial compliance due to intrinsic cohesive zone models. A homogenized model is proposed for a collection of cohesive zones embedded between each mesh of a finite element-type discretization (cohesive-volumetric approach). The overall elastic behavior of this cohesive-volumetric medium is obtained as a function of the local properties and the mesh size. For an isotropic discretization, a criterion on the cohesive stiffnesses is derived: the additional compliance inherent to intrinsic cohesive zone models is bounded by lower value.     

A system of generalized variational inclusions involving generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mapping in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces

In this paper, we consider a class of accretive mappings called generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mappings in Banach spaces. We prove that the proximal-point mapping of the generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mapping is single-valued and Lipschitz continuous. Further, we consider a system of generalized variational inclusions involving generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mappings in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Using proximal-point mapping method, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution and suggest an iterative algorithm for the system of generalized variational inclusions. Furthermore, we discuss the convergence criteria of the iterative algorithm under some suitable conditions. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of some known results in the literature.     

Interval oscillation criteria for a forced second-order nonlinear differential equations with damping

In this paper, we are concerned with the oscillations in a class of forced second-order differential equations with nonlinear damping terms. By using classical variational principle and averaging technique, several new interval oscillation criteria for the equations are established, which improve and extend some known results. Example is also given to illustrate the results.     

Mortality density forecasts: An analysis of six stochastic mortality models

This paper develops a framework for developing forecasts of future mortality rates. We discuss the suitability of six stochastic mortality models for forecasting future mortality and estimating the density of mortality rates at different ages. In particular, the models are assessed individually with reference to the following qualitative criteria that focus on the plausibility of their forecasts: biological reasonableness; the plausibility of predicted levels of uncertainty in forecasts at different ages; and the robustness of the forecasts relative to the sample period used to fit the model. An important, though unsurprising, conclusion is that a good fit to historical data does not guarantee sensible forecasts. We also discuss the issue of model risk, common to many modelling situations in demography and elsewhere. We find that even for those models satisfying our qualitative criteria, there are significant differences among central forecasts of mortality rates at different ages and among the distributions surrounding those central forecasts.     

Pressure regularity criteria of the three‐dimensional micropolar fluid flows

In the study of the regularity criteria of weak solutions of the three‐dimensional (3D) micropolar fluid flows, the regularity of solutions are examined by imposing some critical growth conditions only on the pressure field in the Lebesgue space, Morrey space, Multiplier space, BMO space and Besov space, respectively. The Shapley–Shubik index for multi-criteria simple games

In this paper we address multi-criteria simple games which constitute an extension of the basic framework of voting systems and related social-choice situations. For these games, we propose the extended Shapley–Shubik index as the natural generalization of the Shapley–Shubik index in conventional simple games, and establish an axiomatic characterization of this power index.     

利用两能级原子与腔场相互作用实现纠缠压缩态的纠缠浓缩

根据大失谐条件下原子-腔场相互作用的特点,讨论了一个制备纠缠压缩态的方法,提出了一个利用两能级原子与腔场相互作用实现纠缠压缩态纠缠浓缩的方案。在这个方案中,两束具有相同振幅但有着 相位差的压缩光 和 构成的纠缠态光场被用来作为量子信道。通过利用两能级原子与腔场的相互作用以及两模正交态测量实现了这个纠缠浓缩的过程。结果表明：对于纠缠压缩态,无论其初始的纠缠是多么微弱,利用这种方法总有一定的几率可以从部分纠缠态中提取出最大纠缠态。     

原子的选择测量对原子纠缠特性和场熵的影响*

考虑初始处于W态的三个二能级原子,将其中两个原子同时注入处于真空态的单模腔中,并与光场发生共振相互作用的情况。采用数值计算方法,通过对是否进行原子态选择性测量情况下,腔内原子间的纠缠性质和场熵的比较,讨论了对腔外原子的态选择性测量对腔内原子间的纠缠性质和场熵演化的影响。研究结果表明：对腔外原子的选择性测量,可增强腔内原子间的纠缠,但会减弱腔內原子与光场的关联。
