Current R & D activities at TRCRE in polymer processing by EB

The current status of the R & D activities is presented on electron beam processing of polymers being carried out at TRCRE. Topics included are sterilization of medical products, graft polymers for selective separation or absorbents and curing of liquid prepolymer-monomer systems.     

Neue Spiroverbindungen aus Cyclophosphazenen und Cyclodi[phosphadiazan]en

New Spiro Compounds from Cyclophosphazenes and Cyclodi[phosphadiazanes] Chlorocyclophosphazenes (Cl₂P = N)₃ and (Cl₂p = N)₄ react with dihydrazidophosphoric acid derivatives in THF in the presence of triethylamine to give the spirocyclic compounds Cl₄N₃P₃(NHN(CH₃))₂P(S)OC₆H₅, Cl₆N₄P₄(NHNH)₂P(S)OC₆H₅. Constitutions have been confirmed by MS, NMR, IR and elemental analysis.     

Model-dependent nature of blowtorch effect on the escape and equilibration rates

We analyze the relaxation behavior of a bistable system when the background temperature profile is inhomogeneous due to the presence of a localized hot region (blowtorch) on one side of the potential barrier. Since the diffusion equation for inhomogeneous medium is model-dependent, we consider two physical models to study the kinetics of such system. Using a conventional stochastic method, we obtain the escape and equilibration rates of the system for the two physical models. For both models, we find that the hot region enhances the escape rate from the well where it is placed while it retards the escape rate from the other well. However, the value of the escape rate from the well where the hot region is placed differs for the two models while that of the escape rate from the other well is identical for both. This work, for the first time, gives a detailed report of the similarities and differences of the escape rates and, hence, exposes the common and distinct features of the two known physical models in determining the way the bistable system relaxes. 房水中烯醇化酶总活性的联酶荧光法测定

采用酶联反应荧光法测定样品中烯醇化酶的总活性。方法最低检出限为０２ＩＵ／Ｌ，在０２０～３５ＩＵ／Ｌ范围标准曲线呈线性，γ＞０９９７，回收率达９０％，相对标准偏差＜１０％。对临床确诊的视网膜母细胞瘤进行了初步探讨，检验结果的特异性较高。     

停流—荧光动力学分析法测定痕量钛的研究

利用自行组装的停流-荧光动力学分析仪,采用停流法汇合流体动力注入技术,研究了钛与3.5-二溴水杨基荧光酮的荧光增强动力学反应性质,讨论了流速、进样时间对方法灵敏度和精密度的影响,提出了一个快速、简便、精确测定钛的分析方法,并用于稀土样品及合成样品中痕量钛的测定.方法检测限为8×10~(-3)ppm,大多数元素的干扰均可用动力学方法消除.     

脱镁叶绿素a和脱镁叶绿素b的联合同步荧光分析法

建立了脱镁叶绿素a和脱镁叶绿素b的联合同步荧光分析法。方法简便快速。脱镁叶绿素a和脱镁叶绿素b的线性范围分别为0～400ng/ml和0～200ng/ml,检出限分别为1ng/ml和0.5ng/ml。     

New stereoselective synthesis of the peptidic aminopeptidase inhibitors bestatin, phebestin and probestin

Peptidic aminopeptidase inhibitors, bestatin, phebestin and probestin have been prepared by stereo- and regiocontrolled reactions from a common α,β-epoxy ester precursor.     

AFM, SEM and GIXRD studies of thin films of red polycarbazolyldiacetylenes

In this paper we report the results of a morphological and structural investigation on film properties of a soluble polydiacetylene, the poly[1,6-bis(3,6-dihexadecyl-N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadiyne] (polyDCHD-HS). The red films of this polymer, prepared by standard spin-coating techniques, revealed absence of linear dichroism and birefringence in contrast with the ordered mesophases detected by powder X-ray studies. In order to interpret the optical behavior of this polymer, we performed AFM and SEM studies of polyDCHD-HS films spun on hydrophylic and hydrophobic glass substrates. We found the presence of surfaces organized in rod-like particles, more regularly oriented on the hydrophylic substrate. GIXRD studies, carried out on films sufficiently thick to allow the observation of the diffraction pattern, reveled the presence of a lamellar structure with a spacing of 3.22 nm. The low intensity of the diffraction peaks and the isotropic linear optical properties of the films show that the lamellar mesophases are not extended over large areas. These findings were compared with the data obtained from AFM and SEM studies on films of two other polydiacetylenes, the poly[1-(3,6-dihexadexyl-N-carbazolyl)-6-(N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadyine] (polya-DCHD) and the poly[1,6-bis(3,6-dipalmitoyl-N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadyine] (polyDPCHD), spun on hydrophylic glass substrate. The results confirmed the presence of nodular morphologies which seem to be a general characteristic of this class of materials. The particles organization appears instead related to the chemical nature of the substituents on the carbazolyl rings.

Constructing one-parameter families of elliptic curves with moderate rank

We give several new constructions for moderate rank elliptic curves over Q(T). In particular we construct infinitely many rational elliptic surfaces (not in Weierstrass form) of rank 6 over Q using polynomials of degree two in T. While our method generates linearly independent points, we are able to show the rank is exactly 6 without having to verify the points are independent. The method generalizes; however, the higher rank surfaces are not rational, and we need to check that the constructed points are linearly independent.
