In the context of sequential (point as well as interval) estimation, a general formulation of permutation-invariant stopping rules is considered. These stopping rules lead to savings in the ASN at the cost of some elevation of the associated risk—a phenomenon which may be attributed to the violation of the sufficiency principle. Trust and distrust are two increasingly important metrics in social networks, reflecting users’ attitudes and relationships towards each other. In this paper, we study the indirect derivation of these metrics’ values for users that do not know each other, but are connected through the network. In particular, we study bilattice-based aggregation approaches and investigate how they can be improved by using ordered weighted averaging techniques, or through the incorporation of knowledge defects. Experiments on a real world data set from CouchSurfing.org demonstrate that the best operators from a theoretical perspective are not always the most suitable ones in practice, and that the sophisticated aggregation methods can outperform the more obvious bilattice-based approaches. 相似文献

列车风是高速列车运行时诱导产生的气流流动, 是列车空气动力学重要的研究内容和保证列车运行安全的重要方面. 本文利用缩尺比例为1\bh8的八编组高速列车模型进行了列车风的动模型实验,测试了明线运行状态下列车周围的流动参数,突破了短编组列车风动模型测试所带来的局限性.列车风系综平均曲线和标准差曲线说明: 列车头部会引起稳定的列车风,在车身和车尾处的列车风具有非常明显的非定常特征.列车风所反映的车身周围的气流扰动在第二节车厢开始显现, 列车风速振荡上升,在第七节车厢达到局部最大值.转向架舱和车厢间风挡间隙的气流干扰并没有在列车风曲线上表现出来.利用本征正交分解法分析列车风尾迹区的实验结果,发现列车风的扰动能量集中于近尾迹区, 次之是车身发展区.以各次实验结果中列车风的峰值位置距离车尾远近为条件,对列车风实验结果进行条件平均分析,表明列车尾涡生成时与列车风探针间的相对位置关系会影响列车风尾迹区的峰值形态. 相似文献

Sample Average Approximation (SAA) is used to approximately solve stochastic optimization problems. In practice, SAA requires much fewer samples than predicted by existing theoretical bounds that ensure the SAA solution is close to optimal. Here, we derive new sample-size bounds for SAA that, for certain problems, are logarithmic (existing bounds are polynomial) in problem dimension. Notably, our new bounds provide a theoretical explanation for the success of SAA for many capacity- or budget-constrained optimization problems. 相似文献

Nonparametric control charts have received increasing attention in process monitoring. In this article, a new nonparametric sign (SN) control chart with variable sample size (VSS) for a finite horizon process is developed. The novelty of this research lies in the incorporation of the VSS technique into the nonparametric SN chart for a finite horizon process, hence, resulting in the development of a more sensitive nonparametric short run chart. The statistical performance of the new nonparametric VSS SN control chart is evaluated and compared with the existing fixed sample size (FSS) SN chart for a finite horizon process. The charts' performances are compared using the truncated average run length (TARL) and truncated standard deviation of the run length (TSDRL) criteria. The results obtained show that the nonparametric VSS SN short run chart is always quicker than the FSS SN short run chart in detecting process shifts for various underlying process distributions, hence, reducing scrap and rework cost. Finally, an application of the proposed control charting scheme is shown through a real-life example on the fill volume of soft drink beverage bottles. 相似文献

The present paper proposes a new robust fault tolerant control (RFTC) design for continuous-time switched systems. The main objective is to design in an integrated way the couple (controller, observer) that allows to stabilize switched systems even in the presence of actuator faults. A state/fault estimation observer is designed to simultaneously estimate system state and actuator faults. Based on this observer, a fault tolerant controller is developed to stabilize the system and accommodate the actuator faults automatically. The RFTC problem is formalized in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMI) rather than bilinear matrix inequalities (BMI), to avoid the difficulty of solving BMIs. Finally, a numerical example composed of unstable subsystems is studied to show the applicability and efficiency of the obtained results. 相似文献
