We present artificial boundary conditions for the numerical simulation of compressible flows using high-order accurate discretizations with the discontinuous Galerkin (DG) finite element method. The construction of the proposed boundary conditions is based on characteristic analysis and applied for boundaries with arbitrary shape and orientation. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed boundary treatment enables to convect out of the computational domain complex flow features with little distortion. In addition, it is shown that small-amplitude acoustic disturbances could be convected out of the computational domain, with no significant deterioration of the overall accuracy of the method. Furthermore, it was found that application of the proposed boundary treatment for viscous flow over a cylinder yields superior performance compared to simple extrapolation methods.  相似文献

In this work we present a new class of exact stationary solutions for two-dimensional (2D) Euler equations. Unlike already known solutions, the new ones contain complex singularities. We consider point singularities which have a vector field index greater than 1 as complex. For example, the dipole singularity is complex because its index is equal to 2. We present in explicit form a large class of exact localized stationary solutions for 2D Euler equations with a singularity whose index is equal to 3. The solutions obtained are expressed in terms of elementary functions. These solutions represent a complex singularity point surrounded by a vortex satellite structure. We also discuss the motion equation of singularities and conditions for singularity point stationarity which provide the stationarity of the complex vortex configuration.  相似文献

Power grids have been studied as a typical example of real-world complex networks. Different from previous methods, this paper proposes a hybrid approach for structural vulnerability analysis of power transmission networks, in which a DC power flow model with hidden failures is embedded into the traditional error and attack tolerance methodology to form a new scheme for power grids vulnerability assessment and modeling. The new approach embodies some important characteristics of power transmission networks. Furthermore, the simulation on the standard IEEE 118 bus system demonstrates that a critical region might exist and when the power grid operates in the region, it is vulnerable to both random and intentional attacks. Finally, a brief theoretical analysis is presented to explain the new phenomena.  相似文献

A systematic procedure is given for obtaining the asymptotic late-time behavior of the Becker-Döring equations describing the time evolution of a population of clusters of particles. In this paper, the nonlinear Boussinesq equations with the conformable time-fractional derivative are solved analytically using the well-established modified Kudryashov method. As a consequence, a number of new exact solutions for this type of equations are formally derived. It is believed that the method is one of the most effective techniques for extracting new exact solutions of nonlinear fractional differential equations.  相似文献

We study the problem of parameter estimation for time-series possessing two, widely separated, characteristic time scales. The aim is to understand situations where it is desirable to fit a homogenized single-scale model to such multiscale data. We demonstrate, numerically and analytically, that if the data is sampled too finely then the parameter fit will fail, in that the correct parameters in the homogenized model are not identified. We also show, numerically and analytically, that if the data is subsampled at an appropriate rate then it is possible to estimate the coefficients of the homogenized model correctly. The ideas are studied in the context of thermally activated motion in a two-scale potential. However the ideas may be expected to transfer to other situations where it is desirable to fit an averaged or homogenized equation to multiscale data.  相似文献

A particle system with a (2 + 1)D exotic Newton-Hooke symmetry is constructed by the method of nonlinear realization. It has three essentially different phases depending on the values of the two central charges. The subcritical and supercritical phases (describing 2D isotropic ordinary and exotic oscillators) are separated by the critical phase (one-mode oscillator), and are related by a duality transformation. In the flat limit, the system transforms into a free Galilean exotic particle on the noncommutative plane. The wave equations carrying projective representations of the exotic Newton-Hooke symmetry are constructed.  相似文献
