Chromatographic separation and determination of Zr in bauxites and aluminum alloys

Summary A simple thin-layer chromatographic method for the complete separation of Zr from aluminum is described. The optimum solvent composition is evaluated by means of the simplex method of optimization. Quantitative determination and regression analysis is carried out.     

Kinetic and mechanistic study of the quasiliving cationic polymerization of styrene with the 2-phenyl-2-propanol/AlCl3 · OBu2 initiating system

The cationic polymerization of styrene with the 2-phenyl-2-propanol (CumOH)/AlCl₃ · OBu₂ initiating system at various dibutyl ether concentrations in a mixture of 1,2-dichloroethane and n-hexane (55:45 v/v) at −15 °C was investigated. The experimental results showed that an increase in dibutyl ether concentration leads to a noticeable decrease in the polymerization rate as well as to the more controlled polymerization in terms of molecular weight (M_n) and molecular weight distribution (MWD) evolutions. The kinetic investigation revealed that the polymerization proceeds in two stages. The first stage is characterized by high polymerization rate and slow initiation relative to propagation. During this stage molecular weight decreases or does not change and MWD increases with conversion. In the second stage considerably slower quasiliving polymerization of styrene occurs. The quasiliving nature of the styrene polymerization by the CumOH/AlCl₃ · OBu₂ system is proved and mechanistic scheme of the polymerization is proposed.     

乙烯基聚硅氧烷共聚反应竞聚率的测定及其对复合粒子形态的影响

用Ｆｉｍｅｍａｎ－Ｒｏｓｓ法处理数据，测定了乙烯基聚硅氧烷（ＳＶ）与苯乙烯（ＳＴ）、甲基丙烯酸甲酯（ＭＭＡ）和甲基丙烯酸正丁酯（ｎ－ＢＭＡ）的共聚反应的竞聚率，结果为ｒＳＴ＝１．４５和ｒＳＶ＝１．０８，ｒＭＭＡ＝０．７８和ｒＳＶ＝２．０１，ｒｎ－ＢＭＡ＝０．４６和ｒＳＶ＝３．４９．以含ＳＶ的乳液作为种子进行烯类单体的乳液聚合，单体和ＳＶ共聚反应对复合粒子的形态有很大影响。     

后过渡金属催化剂制备烯烃/极性单体共聚物

综述了近年来采用后过渡金属催化剂催化乙烯等α-烯烃与极性单体共聚合的研究进展。     

Radiation-induced polymerization of methyl methacrylate in microemulsion with high monomer content

γ-Ray-induced polymerization of methyl methacrylate was conducted in a microemulsion stabilized by a mixture of sodium of 12-acryloxy-9-octadecenoic acid (AOA) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) with various weight ratios at room temperature. The experimental data showed that the mixture of AOA and SDS with a weight ratio 2 was an efficient surfactant system for the microemulsion containing 38.6 wt% MMA and 5.5 wt% surfactant. The effects of MMA concentration and dose rate on the polymerization kinetics and particle size are discussed.     

Nickel pentacyanonitrosylferrate film modified aluminum electrode for electrocatalytic oxidation of hydrazine

The electrocatalytic oxidation of hydrazine at the aluminum electrode, modified by electroless deposition of nickel pentacyanonitrosylferrate (NiPCNF) on the surface of the electrode has been studied by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and rotating disk electrode voltammetry and the kinetics of the catalytic reaction were investigated. The results were explained using the theory of electrocatalytic reactions at chemically modified electrodes. It was found that a one-electron charge-transfer process is rate limiting and that the average values of the rate constant for the catalytic reaction and the diffusion coefficient, evaluated by different approaches, are 5.2×10³ M^–1s^–1 and 8.5×10^–6 cm²s^–1, respectively. Further examinations of the modified electrodes show that the modifying layers (NiPCNF) on the aluminum substrate have reproducible behavior and a high level of stability, after exposing them in air and hydrazine solutions for a long time. Reaction of 4,4′-dimethyldiphenyl ether with phosphorus trichloride in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride

The reaction of 4,4-dimethyldiphenyl ether with phosphorus trichloride in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride was studied. This reaction affords 2,8-dimethyl-10H-10⁵-phenoxaphosphine 10-oxide as virtually the only product. In air, the latter in an alkaline solution is quantitatively transformed into 10-hydroxy-2,8-dimethyl-10H-10⁵-phenoxaphosphine 10-oxide.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. PP/LDPE共混体系的辐射效应

研究了在多官能团单体—三烯丙基异氰脲酸酯存在下ＰＰ／ＬＤＰＥ共混体系接受γ－辐射的效果。用溶解度参数和ＴＥＭ技术评估了共混体系的相容性与多官能团单体在共混体系中的分布，并用ＳＥＭ、ＤＳＣ、动态力学等方法对共混体系相容性进行了表征。结果表明，ＰＰ／ＬＤＰＥ是不相容的共混体系，三烯丙基异氰脲酸酯主要分布在共混体系的相界面区域，辐照强化了共混体系的相间结合，增加了界面厚度，改善了共混体系的相容性。     

Thermal Analysis of the System Na3AlF6–NaVO3

Summary. The phase diagram of the system Na₃AlF₆–NaVO₃ was determined by means of thermal analysis. The system is a simple binary eutectic one. The eutectic point was estimated at x(NaVO₃) = 0.975 and t _eut = 617°C. The XRD patterns of samples after thermal analysis revealed the presence of cryolite and NaVO₃ only supporting the above assumption of a simple eutectic binary system.
