Resonant quantum tunneling of the Néel vector between nonequivalent magnetic wells is investigated theoretically for a nanometer-scale single-domain antiferromagnet with biaxial crystal symmetry in the presence of an external magnetic field applied along the easy anisotropy axis, based on the two-sublattice model. Both the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin exponent and the preexponential factors are evaluated in the instanton contribution to the tunneling rate for finite and zero magnetic fields by applying the instanton technique in the spin-coherent-state path-integral representation, respectively. The quantum interference or spin-parity effects induced by the topological phase term in the Euclidean action are discussed in the rate of quantum tunneling of the Néel vector. In the absence of an external applied magnetic field, the effect of destructive phase interference or topological quenching on resonant quantum tunneling of the Néel vector is evident for the half-integer excess spin antiferromagnetic nanoparticle. In the weak field limit, the tunneling rates are found to oscillate with the external applied magnetic field for both integer and half-integer excess spins. We discuss the experimental condition on the applied magnetic field which may allow one to observe the topological quenching effect for nanometer-scale single-domain antiferromagnets with half-integer excess spins. Tunneling behavior in resonant quantum tunneling of the magnetization vector between nonequivalent magnetic wells is also studied for a nanometer-scale single-domain ferromagnet by applying the similar technique, but in the large noncompensation limit. This article shows that in Aharonov-Bohm (AB) effect arrangements, the electron wave propagation spaceis doubly connected for two real coherent sources, and simply connected under certain condition for two virtual coherentsources, and all known AB experiments belong to the latter case. By the Feynman path integral method, we show thatin the former case there is no AB effect, whereas in the latter case there is.  相似文献

We analyse the interaction of a relativistic electron with a uniform magnetic field in the spiral dislocation spacetime. We show that analytical solutions to the Dirac equation can be obtained, where the spectrum of energy corresponds to the relativistic Landau levels. We also analyse the influence of the spiral dislocation on the relativistic Landau levels by showing that there exists an analogue of the Aharonov–Bohm effect for bound states.  相似文献

We studied exact solutions and spectrum analysis of the pseudoharmonic oscillator in the presence of θ-dependent scalar potential and the sum of two vector potentials Dirac magnetic monopole and Aharonov-Bohm field. The effect of the Dirac magnetic monopole (g), Aharonov-Bohm field (ℱ) , the dissociation energy of diatomic molecules (D e), equilibrium intermolecular separation (r e), and the reduced mass (μ) on the energy spectrum for some diatomic molecules (CO, NO, N2, CH, H2, and ScH) are analyzed. We compared our results with theoretical experiments of pseudoharmonic oscillator potential in a molecular system.  相似文献

The quantisation of a charged scalar field in an externally specified electromagnetic field, described by the vector potentialA i=∂if withf(t,r,θ,z)= is discussed. The electromagnetic field is zero everywhere except at the origin; a singular magnetic field (Aharonov-Bohm field) exists at the origin. The vacuum polarization around such a magnetic field is computed and the non-local behaviour is discussed.  相似文献

Using the quantum kinematic approach of Mukunda and Simon, we propose a geometric phase in Bohmian mechanics. A reparametrization and gauge invariant geometric phase is derived along an arbitrary path in configuration space. The single valuedness of the wave function implies that the geometric phase along a path must be equal to an integer multiple of 2π. The nonzero geometric phase indicates that we go through the branch cut of the action function from one Riemann sheet to another when we locally travel along the path. For stationary states, quantum vortices exhibiting the quantized circulation integral can be regarded as a manifestation of the geometric phase. The bound-state Aharonov-Bohm effect demonstrates that the geometric phase along a closed path contains not only the circulation integral term but also an additional term associated with the magnetic flux. In addition, it is shown that the geometric phase proposed previously from the ensemble theory is not gauge invariant.  相似文献

We find exact solutions of the Dirac equation and the fermion energy spectrum in the Coulomb (vector and scalar) potential and Aharonov-Bohm potential in 2+1 dimensions taking the particle spin into account. We describe the fermion spin using the two-component Dirac equation with the additional (spin) parameter introduced by Hagen. We consider the effect of creation of fermion pairs from the vacuum by a strong Coulomb field in the Aharonov-Bohm potential in 2+1 dimensions. We obtain transcendental equations implicitly determining the electron energy spectrum near the boundary of the lower energy continuum and the critical charge. We numerically solve the equation for the critical charge. We show that for relatively weak magnetic flows, the critical charge decreases (compared with the case with no magnetic field) if the energy of interaction of the electron spin magnetic moment with the magnetic field is negative and increases if this energy is positive. __________ Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 158, No. 2, pp. 250–262, February, 2009.  相似文献

We discuss the two-slit experiment and the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) experiment in the magnetic field. In such a case the electron moving in the magnetic field produces so called synchrotron radiation. In other words the photons are emitted from the points of the electron trajectory and it means that the trajectory of electron is visible in the synchrotron radiation spectrum. The axiomatic system of quantum mechanics does not enable to define the trajectory of the elementary particle. The two-slit experiment and AB experiment in a magnetic field was never performed and it means that they are the missing experiments of quantum mechanics. The extension of the discussion to the cosmical rays moving in the magnetic field of the Saturn magnetosphere and its rings is mentioned. It is related to the probe CASSINI. The solution of the problem in the framework of the hydrodynamical model of quantum mechanics and the nonlinear quantum mechanics is also mentioned.  相似文献

The optical transition energies of neutral and charged excitons in a quantum tube are calculated as a function of the Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux Φ. The oscillation amplitude of the ground state energy of the electron-hole relative motion is shown to be larger in a quantum tube than a quantum ring with strong confinement in the axis direction. We find a double maxima structure in the optical transition energy for a quantum tube with radius R = 0.5 in units of the effective Bohr radius because of the difference in the Φ dependencies between the single electron energy and the relative-motion energy of a charged exciton state.  相似文献

Following almost a century of debate on possible “independent of measurement" elements of reality, or “induced" elements of reality - originally invoked as an ad-hoc collapse postulate, we propose a novel line of interference experiments which may be able to examine the regime of induced elements of reality. At the basis of the proposed experiment, lies the hypothesis that models of “induced" elements of reality should exhibit symmetry breaking within quantum evolution. The described symmetry experiment is thus aimed at being able to detect and resolve spatial symmetry breaking signatures. The proposed experiment stands at the edge of present day technological abilities and will be, so we believe, realizable in the near future.
