Generic replica symmetric field-theory for short range Ising spin glasses

Symmetry considerations and a direct, Hubbard-Stratonovich type, derivation are used to construct a replica field-theory relevant to the study of the spin glass transition of short range models in a magnetic field. A mean-field treatment reveals that two different types of transitions exist, whenever the replica number n is kept larger than zero. The Sherrington-Kirkpatrick critical point in zero magnetic field between the paramagnet and replica magnet (a replica symmetric phase with a nonzero spin glass order parameter) separates from the de Almeida-Thouless line, along which replica symmetry breaking occurs. We argue that for studying the de Almeida-Thouless transition around the upper critical dimension d = 6, it is necessary to use the generic cubic model with all the three bare masses and eight cubic couplings. The critical role n may play is also emphasized. To make perturbative calculations feasible, a new representation of the cubic interaction is introduced. To illustrate the method, we compute the masses in one-loop order. Some technical details and a list of vertex rules are presented to help future renormalisation-group calculations. Momentum transport and torque scaling in Taylor-Couette flow from an analogy with turbulent convection

We generalize an analogy between rotating and stratified shear flows. This analogy is summarized in Table 1. We use this analogy in the unstable case (centrifugally unstable flow vs. convection) to compute the torque in Taylor-Couette configuration, as a function of the Reynolds number. At low Reynolds numbers, when most of the dissipation comes from the mean flow, we predict that the non-dimensional torque G = T/ν² L, where L is the cylinder length, scales with Reynolds number R and gap width η, G = 1.46η^3/2(1 - η)^-7/4 R ^3/2. At larger Reynolds number, velocity fluctuations become non-negligible in the dissipation. In these regimes, there is no exact power law dependence the torque versus Reynolds. Instead, we obtain logarithmic corrections to the classical ultra-hard (exponent 2) regimes: G = 0.50 . These predictions are found to be in excellent agreement with avail-able experimental data. LONG-TIME BEHAVIOR OF A CLASS OF REACTION DIFFUSION EQUATIONS WITH TIME DELAYS

The present paper devotes to the long-time behavior of a class of reaction diffusion equations with delays under Dirichlet boundary conditions. The stability and global attractability for the zero solution are provided, and the existence, stability and attractability for the positive stationary solution are also obtained.

Schrödinger Uncertainty Relations and Physical Features of Correlated-Coherent States

We show that the difference between the Schrödinger uncertainty relations (UR) and the Heisenberg UR is fundamental. We propose a modified version of stochastic mechanics that allows clearly demonstrating that the contributions from the anticommutator and the commutator to the Schrödinger UR are equally important. A classification of quantum states minimizing the Schrödinger UR at an arbitrary instant is proposed. We show that the correlation of the coordinate and momentum fluctuations in such correlated-coherent states (CCS) is largely determined by the contributions from not only the commutator but also the anticommutator of the corresponding operators. We demonstrate that the character of this correlation changes qualitatively in time from the antiphase correlation typical for the Heisenberg UR to the inphase correlation for which the contribution from the anticommutator is decisive. We comparatively analyze properties of a free microparticle and a quantum oscillator in CCS and show that the CCS correspond to traveling-standing de Broglie waves in both models.     

天文斑点成像技术中的噪声影响分析

为进一步说明天文像复原新方法-迭代位移叠加法的性质，对探测器的附加噪声在斑点干涉术、斑点掩模法和迭代位移叠加法中的影响分别进行了分析。结果表明：在斑点掩模法中，复杂的噪声高阶矩统计被引入了重谱的噪声偏差，因此对噪声极为敏感，使数据处理更加复杂化；与斑点掩模法相比，迭代位移叠加法仅涉及对噪声的一阶矩统计平均，所以此新方法的特点是对噪声不敏感，具有图像复原处理过程简单快捷的优越性。     

Metastability in the Potts model on the Cayley tree

Metastability in the ferromagneticp-state Potts model defined on the Cayley tree is discussed. It is shown that the sign of the boundary fieldH _s determines the order of the transition as well as the stability of the low-temperature phase. Lowering the temperature withH _s >0, a system withp<2 (p>2) will display a second (first)-order transition to a metastable (stable) phase. ForH _s >0 a second (first)-order transition to a metastable (stable) phase occurs ifp>2 (p<2). In this case the system also has a residual entropy which is negative forp<2.     

On one generalization of a DiPerna and Majda theorem

The weak limits of sequences {f(u^ν)}_ν∈? where u^ν's are vector‐valued µ‐measurable functions defined on a compact set Ω and f is (possibly) discontinuous are investigated. As shown by the author (J. Conv. Anal. (to appear)), they are described in terms of integral formulae involving parametrized measures independent of f, similarly as in the classical theorem by Young and its generalization due to DiPerna and Majda.
