Residual stress in the epoxy plate during a rapid cooling process was measured by the layer removal method and calculated by the linear thermoviscoelastic theory considering specific volume relaxation. The relaxations of the tensile modulus and specific volume were measured by an Instron thermomechanical analyzer. When the starting temperature of the cooling process was near the glass transition temperature of the cured epoxy, the residual stress in the epoxy plate was smaller than when the starting temperature was higher than the glass transition temperature. However, the transient stress in the cured epoxy plate was higher when the starting temperature was near the glass transition temperature than when the starting temperature was higher than the glass transition temperature. The quenched epoxy plate was compressed in the direction parallel to the surface and expanded in the thickness direction. 相似文献

The effects of cis- and trans-1,2-, trans-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, 95% cis-1,3,5-cyclohexane tricarboxylic acid and cis-1,2,3,4,5,6-cyclohexanehexacarboxylic acid on the yield stress–pH behaviour of concentrated ZrO2 dispersions are reported. Adsorbed cis-1,2,3,4,5,6-cyclohexanehexacarboxylic acid imparts predominantly steric interactions. It forms a steric barrier keeping the interacting particles apart. Adsorbed cis- and trans-1,2 increase the maximum yield stress and this was attributed to a hydrophobic force resulting from the part of the cyclohexane ring sticking out into the solution which is devoid of charged or hydrophilic group. Adsorbed trans-1,4 increases the maximum yield stress by at least threefold and its configuration favours strong bridging interaction with an adjacent particle. Predominantly, cis-1,3,5 also increases the maximum yield stress but only by 60% at the same additive concentration. This was attributed to a smaller degree of bridging. 相似文献

Non-linear stress, and orientation characteristics for polymer fluids (melts, solutions) composed of chain macromolecules of finite length have been derived. Freelyjointed chains with inverse Langevin statistics have been assumed, and their behaviour in potential hydrodynamic fields analyzed. Numerical calculations have been performed for uniaxial extensional flow in a wide range of flow rates (and stresses). In the range of small stresses, orientation is a linear function of stress. At higher stresses, orientation factor levels off, asymptotically approaching unity.Flow orientation characteristics significantly differ from those derived from affine deformation of polymer networks. The tube model is applied for the treatment of stress-strain measurements on SBR networks. It is shown that this theory allows the separation of crosslink and constraint contributions to the stress-strain behavior and, also, a reliable determination of crosslink densities. The Cox-Merz empirical relationship between the linear (oscillatory) and nonlinear (steady-state) viscosities has been shown to be valid for many polymeric systems. Here, we present an equivalent expression to relate the linear (G) and nonlinear (N
1) elastic properties of viscoelastic systems. Like the Cox-Merz relationship, it uses a combination of elastic and viscous parameters. The modified form of the storage modulus is then equivalent to the Cox-Merz complex viscosity. It can be used to correlate with (half) the normal force at numerically equal circular frequency and shear rate, respectively.This new expression and the Cox-Merz rule are tested for a range of polymeric and colloidal systems. It is found that both expression work for the polymeric systems considered, but fail for the colloidal systems. In the latter, the steady state values of viscosity and elasticity are consistently low, and replacing them by the complex viscosity and our new elastic expression only makes matters worse.For polymer systems, we suggest this is a general but not universal observation, since we are aware of exceptions to the rule that polymeric systems obey the Cox-Merz rule for viscosity and our rule for elasticity. For colloidal systems we find that neither rule is obeyed for any of our systems. 相似文献

In this paper, we present a rheological study of a compact layer of highly swollen gel beads. The flow regimes of these systems are modelled by an elastic sinusoid moving in a Newtonian fluid. This model predicts a yield stress varying with the square root of the elastic modulus of the gel bead. The slope at the origin (at zero velocity) of the flow curve is expected to depend only on geometrical parameters and on the solvent viscosity. A mass spectrometer was coupled to high-performance ligand-exchange liquid chromatography (HPLEC) for simultaneous analysis of stress associated solutes such as proline, hydroxyproline, methylproline, glycine betaine and trigonelline extracted from leaves of drought stressed oaks and an internal standard namely N-acetylproline. Methanol/chloroform/water extracts were analyzed using an Aminex HPX-87C column and specifically quantified by the positive ion mode of an electrospray ionisation-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) in single ion monitoring (SIM) mode. The recovery of N-acetyl proline added to oak leaf extracts ranged from 85.2 to 122.1% for an intra-day study. Standard calibration curves showed good linearity in the measured range from 0.3125 to 10 μmol L−1 with the lowest correlation coefficient of 0.99961 for trigonelline. The advantages of this alternative procedure, compared to previously published methods using fluorescence or amperometric detections, are the simultaneous and direct detection of osmoprotectants in a single chromatographic run, a minimal sample preparation, a good specificity and reduced limits of quantification, ranging from 0.1 to 0.6 μmol L−1. Fifty-six days of water deficit exposure resulted in increased foliar free proline levels (2.4-fold, P < 0.001, 155 μmol g−1 FW) and glycine betaine contents (2.5-fold, P < 0.05, 175 μmol g−1 FW) of drought stressed oak compared to control. 相似文献

为了检测镧浸种对辣椒种子抗酸雨胁迫能力的影响,对来自辣椒种子经镧处理和酸雨胁迫1,3和7 d的幼苗生长状况和活性氧代谢进行了测定。结果显示:经镧溶液浸种后,辣椒种子的抗酸雨能力增强,可抵御中强酸雨(pH 3.5)持续胁迫7 d,表现为胚根长和幼苗鲜重均达到对照水平;相对于酸雨组,镧处理组辣椒幼苗中POD活性提高了5.4%,MDA含量降低了6.9%;酸雨组的POD活性和MDA含量均高于对照,分别提高3.9%和25.5%,说明酸雨引发的POD合成是应急,不能有效地限制MDA的积累;基于镧对照的POD活性比对照高,而MDA含量没有相应的提高,说明镧浸种提高了幼苗中POD活性的本底水平。因此,稀土元素是作物的免疫刺激物,镧浸种属于抗胁迫锻炼。 相似文献
