We propose a novel localized mode enhanced (LME) coupler based on quasi-one-dimensional photonic crystal microstrips, which is promising to be applied in wavelength division multiplexed microwave communication systems. Compared to the traditional microstrip coupler, the LME structure has two advantages: high efficiency and frequency selectivity. Even in a relatively far coupling distance, this structure can still achieve a high efficiency about 50%. We report the fabrication of an upconversion infrared detector, i.e. a quantum well infrared photodetector integrated with a light-emitting diode (named as QWIP-LED). The infrared photo-response spectrum in the upconversion process is in good agreement with the normal photocurrent spectrum of the QWIP, which demonstrates that the long wavelength infrared band at 8μm has been transferred to the near infrared band at 0.8μm by the upconversion process. 相似文献

We numerically investigate the magneto-optical Cotton-Mouton effect in an alternating multilayer structure with a nonlinear dielectric constant. The multistability and polarization of the transmission of electromagnetic field near the edges of the stop gap are studied in detail. The resonant transmission is accompanied by solitons of intensity of the field. This investigation provides a way to select the transmission property with different polarizations since both the amplitude and the phase of the output field can be adjusted by the input power and by the magneto-optical coefficient depending on the external magnetic field. 相似文献

The spectral broadening with the bandwidth of 83nm (1.2486-1.3318μm) in the 1.3μm region is achieved in a 0.2-m-long, polarization-maintaining photonic crystal fibre (PCF) with an average core radius of 1.8 μm, pumped by optical pulses at the wavelength 1.269μm, with the duration 25ors and the repetition rate 250kHz from an optical parametric amplifier. We investigate theoretically the electron transport properties of a two-sublevel quantum wire irradiated by a strong laser field resonant with the quasiparticle transition at low temperatures. Using the method of the Keldysh equation of motion for nonequilibrium Green function, we examine the time-averaged conductance for the system with photon polarization parallel and perpendicular to the tunnelling current direction, respectively. We demonstrate that, by analysing some numerical examples, a feature of absolute negative conductance appears in the parallel case, while the conductance shows a symmetry distributed peaks in the Derpendicular case. 相似文献
