Small Stress Change Triggering a Big Earthquake: a Test of the Critical Point Hypothesis for Earthquakes 下载免费PDF全文
Whether or not a small stress change can trigger a big earthquake is one of the most important problems related to the critical point hypothesis for earthquakes. We investigate global earthquakes with different focM mechanisms which have different levels of ambient shear stress. This ambient stress level is the stress level required by the earthquakes for their occurrence. Earthquake pairs are studied to see whether the occurrence of the preceding event encourages the occurrence of the succeeding one in terms of the Coulomb stress triggering. It is observed that the stress triggering effect produced by the change of Coulomb failure stress in the same order of magnitudes,about 10-2 MPa, is distinctly different for different focal mechanisms, and thus for different ambient stress levels.For non-strike-slip earthquakes with a relatively low ambient stress level, the triggering effect is more evident,while for strike-slip earthquakes with a relatively high ambient stress level, there is no evident triggering effect.This water level test provides an observational support to the critical point hypothesis for earthquakes. 相似文献

All-optical 1 ×4 broadcast and 1 ×3 multicast experiments of a 40-Gb/s return-to-zero on-off keying (RZ- OOK) signal based on a periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguide are demonstrated in this letter. Clear opened eye diagrams and error-free performance are achieved for the broadcast signals at 1541.3, 1543.7, 1548.5, and 1550.9 nm. Multicast technology uses cascaded second-harmonic generation and difference-frequency generation in a Ti:PPLN waveguide. An error-free operation with a negligible power penalty is achieved for the three wavelength-division multiplexing multicast signals at 1533, 1537, and 1541 nm. 相似文献

本文研究单分子磁体Na9[Cu3Na3(H2O)9 (α-AsW9O33)2]·26H2O中三角自旋 环在磁场作用下的热纠缠性质, 利用数值计算求出任意两个Cu2+离子量子比特之间的配对纠缠度, 分别记为C12, C23和C13. 研究结果表明, 磁场的方向和大小以及温度对配对纠缠度具有重要影响, 而且参数的变化对C12, C23和C13的影响也是各不相同. 给出外加三个不同方向的磁场时, 配对纠缠度C12, C23和C13各自对应的临界温度Tc随磁场强度的变化图, 由此可以得到单分子磁体三角自旋环中存在纠缠态的参数范围. 通过选择适当的磁场方向和大小以及温度等实验参数, 可以有效地调节和提高单分子磁体中的配对纠缠度.

We investigate the roles of different qubit-environment decoherence models on the entanglement trapping of two qubits. By considering three environmental models (the single photonic band gap model, the common photonic band gap model, and the two independent photonic band gaps model), we note that the final values of entanglement trapping are determined by these different models. We also give the conditions of obtaining the larger entanglement trapping by comparing two-qubit entanglement dynamics in different decoherence models. 初始处于纠缠的原子与附加类克尔介质的光腔相互作用,运用共生纠缠的度量方法对原子间的纠缠演化动力学进行研究,分析了腔场粒子数、介质非线性效应及原子与腔场的失谐量对纠缠演化的影响,发现处于腔场真空态下原子间的纠缠作周期性震荡演化,而处在腔场粒子数态下的原子在演化过程中发生纠缠突然死亡现象;在非线性克尔介质作用下,处于腔场粒子数较小范围内(n≤5)的原子间也会产生纠缠突然死亡现象;但随着腔场粒子数的增加纠缠突然死亡现象消失而且一定程度上可以达到纠缠初始值;当腔场处于任意粒子数态时,由于非线性效应的影响,均可抑制纠缠突然死亡现象的发生;当腔场在没有类克尔介质作用时,原子与腔场间的失谐量同样可以避免纠缠突然死亡现象的发生. 相似文献

A comparison of different entransy flow definitions and entropy generation in thermal radiation optimization 下载免费PDF全文
In thermal radiation, taking heat flow as an extensive quantity and defining the potential as temperature T or the black body emissive power U will lead to two different definitions of radiation entransy flow and the corresponding principles for thermal radiation optimization. The two definitions of radiation entransy flow and the corresponding optimization prin ciples are compared in this paper. When the total heat flow is given, the optimization objectives of the extremum entransy dissipation principles (EEDPs) developed based on potentials T and U correspond to the minimum equivalent temperature difference and the minimum equivalent blackbody emissive power difference respectively. The physical meaning of the definition based on potential U is clearer than that based on potential T, but the latter one can be used for the coupled heat transfer optimization problem while the former one cannot. The extremum entropy generation principle (EEGP) for thermal radiation is also derived, which includes the minimum entropy generation principle for thermal radiation. When the radiation heat flow is prescribed, the EEGP reveals that the minimum entropy generation leads to the minimum equivalent thermodynamic potential difference, which is not the expected objective in heat transfer. Therefore, the minimum entropy generation is not always appropriate for thermal radiation optimization. Finally, three thermal radiation optimization examples are discussed, and the results show that the difference in optimization objective between the EEDPs and the EEGP leads to the difference between the optimization results. The EEDP based on potential T is more useful in practical application since its optimization objective is usually consistent with the expected one. 相似文献

为了解决量子信令远程传输损伤问题,提出了一种量子信令中继器模型. 在该模型中,首先对接收到的信令量子态进行纠缠纯化和纠缠分发,这样就可在收发双方之间建立纠缠信道. 其次,通过纠缠交换,传送所要发送的量子信令,从而完成量子信令的中继. 仿真结果表明,在保真度为0.98、纠缠对成功建立概率为0.98的条件下, 信令中继成功率可以达到97%以上;在纠缠交换概率、纯化概率和纠缠对成功建立概率都为0.98时, 量子信令中继器的吞吐量可达到183kbps,以上各项指标能够有效满足量子通信对信令中继的要求.

本文对带DM相互作用的铁磁质海森堡XXZ自旋链模型在磁场中的热纠缠进行了详细地计算和分析. 通过画图发现铁磁质模型的热纠缠远大于反铁磁质模型的热纠缠. 同时发现外磁场 ,耦合系数 和DM相互作用 都可以有效地控制纠缠和临界温度 . 该结论为实验上利用海森堡XXZ模型的纠缠特性进行隐形传态提供了很好的理论依据. 相似文献
