Theoretical Study of Interesting Fine-Structure Splittings Based on a Scenario for Precise Calculations

Based on the multi-configuration Dirac-Fock self-consistent field method, a scenario has been presented to calculate the fine-structure energy levels of C^2＋ and Si^2＋ excited states （31 D2 and 33D1,2,3）. The Breit interactions and quantum electrodynamics corrections are added as perturbations. The present calculation results are found to be in excellent agreement with the experimental data. By means of the precise calculation procedure, we elucidate that four competitive mechanisms influence the interesting fine-structure splittings in C^2＋ and Si^2＋, such as spin-orbit interactions, relativistic corrections of exchange interactions, the Breit interactions and electron correlation effects. Furthermore, the mechanism of relativistic correction of exchange interactions has been studied clearly. We elucidate that the inner shell 2p1/2,3/2 orbitals are essential to relativistic corrections of exchange interactions which are crucial for the final anomalous fine-structure splittings.     

Linear and Nonlinear Optical Absorptions of a Donor Impurity in Spherical Quantum Dots

An investigation of the optical properties of a hydrogenic donor in spherical parabolic quantum dots has been performed by using the matrix diagonalization method. The optical absorption coefficient between the ground （L = 0） and the first excited state （L = 1） have been examined based on the computed energies and wave functions. The results are presented as a function of the incident photon energy for the different values of the confinement strength. These results show the effects of the quantum size and the impurity on the optical absorption coefficient of a donor impurity quantum dot.

Evaluation of Thermal Degradation Induced Material Damage Using Nonlinear Lamb Waves

We report on the evaluation of thermal degradation damage in metal material using the nonlinear effect of Lamb wave propagation. A mountain-shape＇＇ change in the second harmonic of Lamb wave propagation versus the level of thermal degradation in the specimens is observed. It is attributed to the precipitations in the early stage and the microvoids after long-term service in terms of metallographic studies. The results show that the nonlinear Lamb wave is very sensitive to the microstructure evolution and is a good potential for quantitative evaluation of the thermal damaged materials.     

气体动理学方法对斜界面不稳定性实验的数值模拟

介绍了基于BGK模型(Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook)的气体动理学数值方法(Gas Kinetic Scheme,GKS),通过计算多组分激波管问题对以GKS方法实现的MBCD程序进行了验证,表明了在接触间断处产生的震荡非常小,网格收敛性好。在多组分问题求解时各组分满足同温和同速的假设条件下,利用该程序开展了Air/SF6斜界面不稳定性实验的数值模拟,得出了不同时刻SF6的密度分布图,并得到交界面宽度、斜界面左右端相对位置在激波穿过斜界面后的变化情况。通过与实验结果的比较可知,GKS方法和程序在网格数为1024×200和512×100时得到的交界面宽度与实验值的最大误差分别为6.1%和7.3%,可用于对界面不稳定性问题的计算。     

双轴晶体锥光效应光盘径向寻迹研究

根据晶体锥光效应提出一种光控制方法.在双轴晶体中光波沿光轴方向入射时,其传播方向随光偏振方向的不同而改变,通过控制磁光偏振调制器上磁场强度改变光的偏振方向,从而实现对激光束方向的控制.据此分析了双轴晶体锥光效应光盘寻迹的基本原理并设计出总体方案,数值模拟计算得到晶体入射光偏振角度与寻迹位移的关系,初步验证了此方案的合理性,该方案与传统机电跟踪寻迹方式相比具有结构轻巧,动态响应快等优点.同时,也为光开关、扫描等技术提供了一种新的思想和方法.     

Residual Doppler Effect on Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in a Zeeman Sublevel System

We investigate the residual Doppler effect on the linewidth of electromagnetieally induced transparency （EIT） in a Zeeman sublevel system where a careful experimental design ensures the smallest measurement error. The overall measurement error of the EIT linewidth is estimated to be less than 5%. We present the linear dependence of EIT resonance broadening at small angular deviation in detail. The theoretical analysis exploits the dependence of this feature and shows the qualitative agreement between numerical results and experimental results.     

The He--McKellar--Wilkens effect for spin-1 particles on non-commutative space

By using star product method, the He-McKellar-Wilkens （HMW） effect for spin-one neutral particle on noncommutative （NC） space is studied. After solving the Kemmer-like equations on NC space, we obtain the topological HMW phase on NC space where the additional terms related to the space-space non-commutativity are given explicitly.
