Single-bunch emittance dilution in the perfect ILC main linac

In the ILC (International Linear Collider) main linac, low emittance preservation is the most important issue for beam dynamics study. As the main sources of emittance dilution, the dispersive and wakefield effects were studied in this paper. The theoretical calculations and numerical simulations of these two effects on single-bunch emittance dilution, without any misalignment errors, are presented in detail.     

Expanding and improving the LEADS code for dynamics design and multiparticle simulation

In order to calculate the effect on the beam caused by an irregular accelerator element, we have expanded and improved the Linear and Electrostatic Accelerator Dynamics Simulation (LEADS) code. To achieve better calculation precision, the element was divided into lots of equal intervals. In order to simplify the calculation process, a one-dimensional field is simulated and the Lorenz equation is used directly. A one-dimensional field can be imported into the LEADS code. The heteromorphic quadrupole is invented and its field is simulated and optimized using the POISSON code. As examples, the effect on the beam caused by the heteromorphic quadrupole and octupole is simulated.     

BXERL photo-injector based on a 217 MHz normal conducting RF gun

The Beijing X-ray Energy Recovery Linac (BXERL) test facility is proposed in Institute of High Physics (IHEP). In this proposal, the main linac requires the injector to provide an electron beam with 5 MeV energy and 10 mA average current. An injector based on DC gun technology is the first candidate electron source for BXERL. However, the field emission in the DC gun cavity makes it much more difficult to increase the high voltage to more than 500 kV. Another technology based on a 217 MHz normal conducting RF gun is proposed as the backup injector for this test facility. We have designed this RF gun with 2D SUPERFISH code and 3D MICROWAVE STUDIO code. In this paper, we present the optimized design of the gun cavity, the gun RF parameters and the set-up of the whole injector system. The detailed beam dynamics have been done and the simulation results show that the injector can generate electron bunches with RMS normalized emittance 1.0 uppi mmcdotmrad, bunch length 0.77 mm, beam energy 5.0 MeV and energy spread 0.60%.     

强流短脉冲相对论速调管放大器实验研究

 利用无箔空心石墨阴极和0.65T的脉冲引导磁场，从Sinus加速器二极管引出了电压约750kV、电流约8.6kA、脉宽40ns的环形电子束，经过输入腔和中间腔间隙调制后,得到了7kA/43ns的基波调制电流，经过输出腔间隙后，得到了2.1GW/15ns的最大微波输出功率，束波转换效率33％，最高增益为40dB,并发现脉冲缩短现象。     

ADS系统中少系核素的灵敏度分析

为了确定加速器驱动系统中少系核素的核数据的不确定性对此系统中积分参数的影响,选择一铅 铋冷却次临界系统来进行分析,选择不同的微观评价库CENDL 3.0,JENDL 3.2及ENDF/B VI.6,并只考虑20MeV以下的中子产额,来计算次临界系统的积分参数.以ENDF/B VI.2库的计算结果作为参考结果,依次用CENDL 3.0库及JENDL 3.2库中相应的系核素替换ENDF/B VI.6库中的系核素,计算了次临界系统的Keff值及反应率,并就变换主要系核素时对所计算的Keff值及反应率的影响进行了分析、比对.在堆芯处,当改变系核素时Keff值总的变化为30%,CENDL 3.0的238Pu的弹性散射反应率比ENDF/B VI库的结果高出10%,ENDF/B VI库的242Am的裂变率超过了CENDL 3.0库的15%.     

高能物理学在国民经济中的作用

 高能物理学着眼于发现和了解物质的结构。但是,这一基础学科必须同其他学科竞争,以期吸引投资者的重视。 应用科学追求将投资资本快速地转变为可行的市场产品。在经济困难时期,这一点对投资机构及政府是有吸引力的。而经济方面的利益及技术方面的关联也成了高能物理这样的基础科学的成功与否的检验标准。 高能物理学,不管它最初的学术目的如何,也确实具有在副产品方面成功的重要记录,但当人们的注意力集中在基础知识的突破上时,常常会忽略它所带来的相关效益。这方面的一个最突出的例证就是伦琴在1895年发现电子可以产生X射线。 成就 粒子物理学拥有大型而复杂的研究工具--加速器和探测器,它本身就是一项非常成功的技术。     

阴极强流多脉冲发射特性研究

实验研究了几种阴极的强流猝发多脉冲发射特性. 研究结果表明, 天鹅绒阴极产生的猝发强流双脉冲电子束亮度优于1×10⁸A/(m.rad)², 而直立碳纤阴极产生的强流三脉冲电子束的亮度也优于3×10⁷A/(m.rad)², 并有进一步提高的可能. 新型的冷场致发射阴极如纳米金刚石膜阴极和纳米碳管阴极也具有强流发射能力, 实验得到的发射电流密度大于50A/cm².文中还给出的大发射面储备式热阴极的实验结果, 并对相关阴极实现稳定强流多脉冲发射的研究方向和应用前景进行了分析.     

Fusion Reactivity in the Case of Ion Cyclotron Resonant Heating

By applying the integral-variable-change technique, an explicit expression of deuterium-tritium fusion reactivityin the case of second harmonic ion cyclotron resonant heating on deuterium is obtained.
