In the construction of a large area neutron detector (neutron wall) that is used to detect neutrons at GeV energies, the performances of all the sampling paddle modules prepared for the neutron wall are investigated with a specially designed test bench. Tested by cosmic rays, an average intrinsic time resolution of 222.5 ps is achieved at the center of the modules. The light attenuation length and the effective speed of the light in the module are also investigated. 相似文献

A γ/hadron separation analysis is described for the observed air shower events with primary energy above 100 TeV based on the Tibet ASγ detector configuration. The shower age and size parameters are fitted from the measured lateral density distribution and used as discrimination variables. According to the MC simulation while taking into account the systematic uncertainty estimated from data and MC comparison, it is found that 70% of the cosmic ray (CR) background can be rejected while more than 78% of the γ-rays can be retained. Sensitivity for 100 TeV γ-rays observation can thus be improved by at least 40%. 相似文献

A search for γ ray bursts at 3 TeV energy region was done by using the data of Tibet HD air shower array, which was obtained in the period of Febuary 1997-June 1998. About 2.5×10 9 EAS events were analysed to search for the shower clusters appearing in a fixed time intervial and small sky bin.
