Self-pulsation effects of cladding-pumped Erbium-Ytterbium co-doped fiber laser (EYDFL) at around the lasing threshold are investigated. It is demonstrated that laser output of the Erbium-Ytterbium co-doped fiber under the bi-directional pumping regime is more stable than that under the unidirectional pumping one due to the relatively uniform pumping of the fiber. Mechanisms of self-pulsations in the laser system are discussed and possible techniques to avoid self-pulsing and stabilize the laser are proposed.  相似文献

We propose an optically pumped nonpolar GaN/AlGaN quantum well(QW) active region design for terahertz(THz) lasing in the wavelength range of 30 μm~ 40 μm and operating at room temperature.The fast longitudinal optical(LO) phonon scattering in GaN/AlGaN QWs is used to depopulate the lower laser state,and more importantly,the large LO phonon energy is utilized to reduce the thermal population of the lasing states at high temperatures.The influences of temperature and pump intensity on gain and electron densities are investigated.Based on our simulations,we predict that with a sufficiently high pump intensity,a room temperature operated THz laser using a nonpolar GaN/AlGaN structure is realizable.  相似文献

The blue-shifted supercontinuum generation in a photonic crystal fiber pumped by high peak power femtosecond pulses with a wavelength located in the anomalous dispersion region is investigated experimentally and numerically.The formation of a blue-shifted enhanced supercontinuum due to the pulse collapse is demonstrated.The process of the pulse collapse is measured by using the grating-eliminated no-nonsense observation of ultrafast incident laser light e-fields technique(GRENOUILLE).Numerical simulations in spectral and temporal domains are conducted.The data from the numerical simulations are in good agreement with the experimental results.Our experimental results and numerical simulations show that pulse collapse is the determining factor in the generation of a blue-shifted supercontinuum.  相似文献

We demonstrate experimentally an atomic magnetometer based on optical pumping theory, a magnetic resonance that is induced by a radio frequency field and dependent on the magnetic field strength. Compared with the conventional method using one radiation field, which is used not only as the probe beam but also as a pump beam, the additional re-pump beam can increase remarkably the amplitude of the signal. It is shown that the amplitude of the magnetic field resonance signal can increase more than 55% by using an additional re-pump beam, which makes the sensitivity of the magnetometer higher. Finally, we investigate the relation between amplitude of the signal and re-pump laser power, and calculate the atomic population in the trapping states with rate equations.  相似文献

ZnO的激子特性对制备氧化锌基的光电子器件至关霞要,因此对ZnO量子点中激子的发光性质及其跃迁过程进行研究显得十分必要.采用溶胶-凝胶法制备了ZnO纳米晶,X射线衍射(XRD)结果表明样品具有六角纤锌矿多晶结构.研究了在不同泵浦功率激发下ZnO纳米晶的紫外发射的时间积分光谱和时间分辨光谱,观察到自南激子发光,激子-激子碰撞和电子-空穴等离子体引起的受激发射,研究了在不同泵浦功率激发下自由激子及激子-激子碰撞随泵浦功率依赖的动力学过程.研究结果对理解激子带边发射有一定帮助,对ZnO材料在短波长半导体光电器件方面有潜在的应用价值.  相似文献

Some analysis of the transient response of the Yb-doped fiber amplifier are performed by solving a set of time-dependent rate and power transfer equations based on finite-difference method.Meanwhile,the variation of time to reach the steady state for upper level population distribution,the forward and backward amplified spontaneous emissions(ASEs)and stored energy on the system parameters including pump power,fiber length,Yb-doped concentration,and core area are numerically simulated,respectively.The results show that,by optimizing pump pulse width,stored energy can reach or even exceed the steady state value of continuous wave(CW)pump.By increasing Yb-doped concentration and core area,stored energy is increased,the ASE is suppressed and the ASE built-up time is postponed.In addition,the experimental results show the validity of the theoretical ASE built-up time.The obtained results can provide important guiding for the optimization of pump pulse width and fiber parameters.  相似文献

A novel, compact diode-end-pumped conductively cooled Q-switched Nd:YLF laser is developed. A diode-end-pumped pair of Nd:YLF slabs and an intracavity-frequency-doubled configuration are adopted to increase conversion efficiency. Using 49.8-mJ incident pump pulse energy at 500-Hz repetition rate, the laser obtains 11-mJ pulse energy and 5.5-W average output power at 527-nm wavelength, achieving an optical-optical conversion efficiency of 22%. The pulsewidth is less than 15 ns, and the beam quality factors are Mx2=1.28 and M y2=1.12.  相似文献

We demonstrate a linearly-polarized, ytterbium-doped fiber laser that uses an uncoated, undoped ceramic YAG plate as the output coupler, and the corresponding polarization extinction ratio of laser beam increases with incident pump power and then saturates at larger pump power. For comparison, the output coupler of the fiber laser is replaced by 10% reflectivity plane mirror, while the feature of the polarization of laser output is kept unchanged. The results show that the origin of the pump-dependent and self-started polarization is associated with the intensity-dependent nonlinear birefringence in the gain fiber.  相似文献

报道了半导体激光泵浦Nd:YVO4激光器在1.34μm的输出特性,当入射的泵浦光功率为515mW时,最大1.34μm激光输出功率达157mW,光-光转换效率为30.5%,研究了激光器的纵模特性及弛豫噪声与泵浦功率的关系,发现不同的纵模具有各自不同的弛豫振荡频率。  相似文献
