谈山脉隆起的极限高度

自从2005年我国地质部门发布了对珠穆郎玛峰的最新测量高度为8844.43米之后,在一些期刊上相继见到有关于从地质力学角度讨论山到底可能"长"到多高的文章,并有断言:9000米是山的极限高度.笔者读后对其核心论述初觉不妥,既而经查阅资料后再研究,形成了颇不同的观点.     

数学史国际学术研讨会纪要

2007年10月11日至15日，数学史国际学术研讨会在四川成都成功举行．本次会议的主题是纪念欧拉诞辰300周年暨《几何原本》中译400周年．会议由中国数学会和国际数学史委员会主办，四川师范大学承办，四川省安岳县人民政府协办．

深切缅怀国际教学大师陈省身先生

国际著名数学家、教育家，美籍华人，中国科学院外籍院士，南开数学研究所名誉所长陈省身先生，因病医治无效，于2004年12月3日19时14分在天津逝世，享年93岁。
