A method to construct polyelectrolyte multilayers film containing gold nanoparticles

Gold nanoparticles in polyelectrolyte multilayers film can be easily prepared by repeating immersion of a substrate in poly(diallyl dimethylammonium) chloride (PDDA)-AuCl₄⁻ complexes solution followed by reduction Au³⁺ through heating. UV-vis spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and tapping-mode atomic force microscopy (AFM) are used to confirm the successful construction of the polyelectrolyte multilayers film and the formation of gold nanoparticles. The multilayers film shows electrocatalytic activity to dioxygen reduction.

Much improved catalytic carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions between aryl chlorides and Grignard reagents has been achieved using nickel(II) ion on nanoporous carbon.     

HPLC of antibiotics. 1. Streptolydigin and related compounds

Two new acyltetramic acids related to streptolydigin have been isolated from fermentations of Streptomyces lydicus. The principal members of this complex were resolved by TLC on silica gel. However, the methods of detection, permanganate spray or bioautography, were not suitable for both crude fermentation broths and purified extracts. Gas chromatography is unsuitable for the detection of either underivatized or silylated streptolydigins. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) particularly on triethylaminoethyl cellulose is rapid and sensitive and is the method of choice for the analysis of both crude and purified samples. Using high performance liquid chromatography, two components were detected in the complex, which are not observed using any of the other chromatographic procedures.

Two Polymorphs of (Anilinium)(18-Crown-6)[Ni(dmit)2]: Structure and Magnetic Properties

Two polymorphs of monovalent [Ni(dmit)₂]⁻ (dmit²⁻=2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolate) crystals A and B, (anilinium)(18-crown-6)[Ni(dmit)₂], were prepared, and the structure and magnetic properties were investigated. In these crystals, the [Ni(dmit)₂]⁻ molecules form dimers, which arranged into chains between the supramolecular cation structure (anilinium)(18-crown-6). In crystal A, supramolecular cation formed a regular stack, inducing ladder structure of [Ni(dmit)₂], whose magnetism had been well fitted by spin ladder equation with the spin gap of Δ=190 K. Crystal B is ca. 3% more densely packed compared to crystal A. Due to the dense packing, supramolecular cation stack is distorted, which prevented the intermolecular interaction between [Ni(dmit)₂]⁻ dimers in direction corresponds to the ladder-leg direction in crystal A. Reflecting the [Ni(dmit)₂]⁻ arrangement, crystal B showed a temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility well reproduced by the singlet-triplet thermal activation model, whose antiferromagnetic exchange interaction (2J) was 140 K.     

Crystal Structure of Cu(hfac)2 Complexes with Organomercury Binitroxide

The organomercury biradical HgL₂ (L is deprotonated 4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-2-imidazoline-3-oxide-1-oxyl) is capable of performing the bridging function for design of multinuclear heterospin systems. This paper describes synthesis and crystal structure of HgL₂ and the first multinuclear complexes of Cu(hfac)₂ with HgL₂.     

TS和PTS单晶体的热刺激电流

测定了双(对甲基磺酸)2,4-己二炔-1,6-二醇酯(TS)及其不同聚合程度TS-PTS混合体和完全聚合的聚合物PTS在100-300K温度范围内的热刺激电流。在沿分子堆砌方向上(对PTS则是大分子链方向)上观察到了它们的热刺激电流,并在相应于它们相变152K和192K处呈现热刺激电流峰。研究了聚合程度对相变的影响,绘制了TS-PTS体系的相图。对另三个热刺激电流峰的归属作了定性解释。     

Exo-H- andendo-H-η4-pentamethylcyclopentadiene complexes of platinum

A mixture ofendo-H andexo-H isomers (1a and1b) of the (⁴-C₅Me₅H)PtCl₂ complex was prepared by the reaction of K₂PtCl₄ with C₅Me₅H in MeOH. The mixture of isomers reacts with CpTl in the presence of TiBF₄ to give a novel complex, [(⁴-C₅Me₅H)Pt(⁵-C₅H₅)]⁺BF₄ ^–, as a mixture ofendo-H- andexo-H-isomers (2a and2b). Sulfonated polypropylene ionomers

Polypropylene ionomers have been prepared by sulfonation of copolymers of propene and 7 methyl, 1-6 octadiene, followed by neutralization to cesium salts. Both WAXS and SAXS were used to study the morphology of the samples, while their thermal properties were studied by DSC and their mechanical properties by DMTA. The sulfonation process is shown to cause a further drop in crystallinity in addition to the effect of comonomer incorporation. Ion clustering is observed when the extent of sulfonation is high enough, the limit being dependent on the copolymer composition. The ion pairs which are not incorporated into the cluster cause a small-angle upturn in the WAXS pattern. The mechanical properties are strongly affected by the drop in crystallinity, but may be partly recovered due to ion clustering. No disruption of the ion clusters is observed before thermal decomposition of the polymer.
