Several new families of c‐Bhaskar Rao designs with block size 4 are constructed. The necessary conditions for the existence of a c‐BRD (υ,4,λ) are that: (1)λmin=?λ/3 ≤ c ≤ λ and (2a) c≡λ (mod 2), if υ > 4 or (2b) c≡ λ (mod 4), if υ = 4 or (2c) c≠ λ ? 2, if υ = 5. It is proved that these conditions are necessary, and are sufficient for most pairs of c and λ; in particular, they are sufficient whenever λ?c ≠ 2 for c > 0 and whenever c ? λmin≠ 2 for c < 0. For c < 0, the necessary conditions are sufficient for υ> 101; for the classic Bhaskar Rao designs, i.e., c = 0, we show the necessary conditions are sufficient with the possible exception of 0‐BRD (υ,4,2)'s for υ≡ 4 (mod 6). © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper describes an experimental investigation of the feasibility of using “slow” active control approaches, which “instantaneously” change liquid fuel spray properties, to suppress combustion instabilities. The objective of this control approach was to break up the feedback between the combustion process heat release and combustor pressure oscillations that drive the instability by changing the characteristics of the combustion process (e.g., the characteristic combustion time). To demonstrate the feasibility of such control, this study used a proprietary fuel injector (NanomiserTM), which can vary its fuel spray properties, to investigate the dependence of acoustics–combustion process coupling, i.e., the driving of combustion instabilities, upon the fuel spray properties. This study showed that by changing the spray characteristics it is possible to significantly damp combustion instabilities. Furthermore, using combustion zone chemiluminescence distributions, which were obtained by Abel’s deconvolution synchronized with measured acoustic data, it has been shown that the instabilities were mostly driven midway between the combustor centerline and wall, a short distance downstream from the flame holder, where the mean axial flow velocity is approximately zero in the vortex near the flame holder. The results of this study strongly suggest that a “slow” active control system that employs controllable fuel injectors could be effectively used to prevent the onset of detrimental combustion instabilities. 相似文献

We study the propagation of the light mesons σ,ω,ρ, and a0(980) in dense hadronic matter in an extended derivative scalar coupling model. Within the scheme proposed it is possible
to unambiguously define effective density-dependent couplings at the Lagrangian level. We first apply the model to study asymmetric
nuclear matter with fixed isospin asymmetry, and then we pay particular attention to hypermatter in β-equilibrium. The equation
of state and the potential contribution to the symmetry coefficient arising from the mean-field approximation are investigated.

ZnO thin film was initially deposited on InP substrate by radio frequency (rf) magnetron sputtering and the diffusion process was performed using the closed ampoule technique where Zn3P2 was used as the dopant source. To verify the junction formation of ZnO thin films, the electrical properties were measured, and the effects of Zn3P2 diffusion on ZnO thin films were investigated. It is observed that the electrical property of the film is changed from n-type to p-type by dopant diffusion effect. Based on the results, it is confirmed that ZnO thin films can be a potential candidate for ultraviolet (UV) optical devices. 相似文献

Fluorescence line narrowing (FLN) spectroscopy was used to study the role of the polypeptide chain in influencing the spectrum of Zn-substituted cytochrome c (Zn cyt c) and metal-free cyt c (porphyrin cyt c). For both derivatives the spectra show characteristics of relaxed fluorescence from an inhomogeneously broadened sample. Zero phonon lines and phonon wings can be clearly distinguished, and vibrational frequencies of the ground and excited states were identified. The inhomogeneous distribution width for porphyrin cyt c is slightly wider than that of Zn cyt c and a second population of molecules was apparent in the porphyrin cyt c. The phonon coupling was greater for Zn cyt c than for porphyrin cyt c, which may be due to the extra coupling to the polypeptide chain by metal ligation.This work has been done in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy degree. 相似文献

A diagnostic study q (energy transfer processes in a He-N2 flowing discharge and afterglow has been performed in a radiofrequency-produced plasma cooled in a liquid nitrogen hath. Optical emission spectroscopy in the visible and infrared spectral range as well as Langrnuir probe diagnostics were used. The vibrational kinetics of CO injected in such an afterglow has been examined. It shows a slow cooling of the electrons in the afterglow regime. The electron kinetics responsible joy CO vibrahonal excitation is turned off when N2 is added to the He discharge, while that for vibrationally excited N2 molecules is turned on. The results are discussed on the basis of previous theorerical calculations and experiments on the He-N2 system. 相似文献
