In this article we consider a two-level finite element Galerkin method using mixed finite elements for the two-dimensional nonstationary incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The method yields a $H^1$-optimal velocity approximation and a $L_2$-optimal pressure approximation. The two-level finite element Galerkin method involves solving one small, nonlinear Navier-Stokes problem on the coarse mesh with mesh size $H$, one linear Stokes problem on the fine mesh with mesh size $h << H$. The algorithm we study produces an approximate solution with the optimal, asymptotic in $h$, accuracy.  相似文献

A fully discrete penalty finite element method is presented for the two-dimensional time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations. The time discretization of the penalty Navier-Stokes equations is based on the backward Euler scheme; the spatial discretization of the time discretized penalty Navier-Stokes equations is based on a finite element space pair which satisfies some approximate assumption. An optimal error estimate of the numerical velocity and pressure is provided for the fully discrete penalty finite element method when the parameters and are sufficiently small.

This paper gives a thorough theoretical treatment on the adaptive quasi-likelihood estimate of the parameters in the generalized linear models. The unknown covariance matrix of the response variable is estimated by the sample. It is shown that the adaptive estimator defined in this paper is asymptotically most efficient in the sense that it is asymptotic normal, and the covariance matrix of the limit distribution coincides with the one for the quasi-likelihood estimator for the case that the covariance matrix of the response variable is completely known.  相似文献

In this paper, we first address the space‐time decay properties for higher‐order derivatives of strong solutions to the Boussinesq system in the usual Sobolev space. The decay rates obtained here are optimal. The proof is based on a parabolic interpolation inequality, bootstrap argument, and some weighted estimates. Secondly, we present a new solution integration formula for the Boussinesq system, which will be employed to establish the existence of strong solutions for small initial data in some scaling invariant function spaces. The smallness conditions are somehow weaker than those presented by Brandolese and Schonbek. We further investigate the asymptotic profiles and decay properties of these strong solutions. In this paper, the constraints of the sequential optimization of the lexicographic approach are relaxed in order to obtain a simple alternative approach to solve multiobjective problems. In other words, we allow the decision-maker to deviate from the optimal solution of each iteration if he/she prefers. Some properties of the obtained solutions are studied and the relationship between these solutions and those of the weighted sum scalarization and the ?-constraint scalarization and also the elastic ?-constraint scalarization are investigated. Shape gradient flows are widely used in numerical shape optimization algorithms. We investigate the accuracy and effectiveness of approximate shape gradients flows for shape optimization of elliptic problems. We present convergence analysis with a priori error estimates for finite element approximations of shape gradient flows associated with a distributed or boundary expression of Eulerian derivative. Numerical examples are presented to verify theory and show that using the volume expression is effective for shape optimization with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this work, we introduce a generalized measure of cumulative residual entropy and study its properties. We show that several existing measures of entropy, such as cumulative residual entropy, weighted cumulative residual entropy and cumulative residual Tsallis entropy, are all special cases of this generalized cumulative residual entropy. We also propose a measure of generalized cumulative entropy, which includes cumulative entropy, weighted cumulative entropy and cumulative Tsallis entropy as special cases. We discuss a generating function approach, using which we derive different entropy measures. We provide residual and cumulative versions of Sharma–Taneja–Mittal entropy and obtain them as special cases this generalized measure of entropy. Finally, using the newly introduced entropy measures, we establish some relationships between entropy and extropy measures.  相似文献
