In this work, we propose a Jacobi-collocation method to solve the second kind linear Fredholm integral equations with weakly singular kernels. Particularly, we consider the case when the underlying solutions are sufficiently smooth. In this case, the proposed method leads to a fully discrete linear system. We show that the fully discrete integral operator is stable in both infinite and weighted square norms. Furthermore, we establish that the approximate solution arrives at an optimal convergence order under the two norms. Finally, we give some numerical examples, which confirm the theoretical prediction of the exponential rate of convergence. 相似文献

流动稳定性弱非线性理论存在三个主要问题:(1)其摄动参数收敛半径太小且无具体估值;(2)其解有特定结构,一般不能满足很多实际问题的初始条件;(3)当其线性部分不是中性时,Landau系数的确定法不唯一,不知何者应是最好的方法。本文以平面Poiseuille流为例,从理论上解决了问题(1)和(2),并提出了改进办法。又通过将理论和数值模拟结果相比较的方法,澄清了问题(3)。改进了的理论,将可解决许多实际问题。 相似文献

A rigorous mathematical reduction of the procedure widely usedfor studying a class of the nonlinear problems with perturbations,namely the method of the multiple scales, is used. A profound analysis,which provides an approach for deriving a coupled nonlinearSchrödinger equations. The investigation has been achieved byperturbing the nonlinear dynamical system about the linear dynamicalproblem. Modulated wavetrains are described to all orders ofapproximation. Moreover, we extend our approach to deal with equationshaving periodic terms. Two types of simultaneous nonlinearSchrödinger equations are derived. One type is valid at thenon-parametric system and the second type represents a modification forthe first type which is governed the non-resonance case. Two parametriccoupled nonlinear Schrödeinger equations are derived to govern thesecond-sub-harmonic resonance. In addition other two coupled equationsare found for the third-sub-harmonic resonance case. These systems ofequations control the stability behavior at the parametric resonancecases. Using a biatomic chain of atoms as an example, whose interaction was represented by the Morse potential, we revealed a possibility
for a long-lived, dynamic, long-period, nanosized state to persist in the lattice structure. This nanosized structure (in
the case in question, the length of the spatial period of energy localization was found to be 16–20 nm) is generated under
excitation of a vibrational short-wave mode, with the atoms of the light component only participating. The resulting dynamic
nanostructures are principally different in their nature and characteristics from those described earlier and developed via
a mechanism of modulation instability of short-wave vibrational modes.

An imaginary potential with universal normalization for dissipative processes in heavy-ion reactions

In this work we present new coupled channel calculations with the São Paulo potential (SPP) as the bare interaction, and an imaginary potential with system and energy independent normalization that has been developed to take into account dissipative processes in heavy-ion reactions. This imaginary potential is based on high-energy nucleon interaction in nuclear medium. Our theoretical predictions for energies up to ≈100 MeV/nucleon agree very well with the experimental data for the p,n+nucleus, 16O + 27Al, 16O + 60Ni, 58Ni + 124Sn, and weakly bound projectile 7Li + 120Sn systems. 相似文献

We investigate the problem when the strong dual of a projective limit of (LB)-spaces coincides with the inductive limit of the strong duals. It is well-known that the answer is affirmative for spectra of Banach spaces if the projective limit is a quasinormable Fréchet space. In that case, the spectrum satisfies a certain condition which is called strong P-type. We provide an example which shows that strong P-type in general does not imply that the strong dual of the projective limit is the inductive limit of the strong duals, but on the other hand we show that this is indeed true if one deals with projective spectra of retractive (LB)-spaces. The Congruence Lattice Problem asks whether every algebraic distributive lattice is isomorphic to the congruence lattice of a lattice. It was hoped that a positive solution would follow from E. T. Schmidt's construction or from the approach of P. Pudlák, M. Tischendorf, and J. Tuma. In a previous paper, we constructed a distributive algebraic lattice with compact elements that cannot be obtained by Schmidt's construction. In this paper, we show that the same lattice cannot be obtained using the Pudlák, Tischendorf, Tuma approach.
The basic idea is that every congruence lattice arising from either method satisfies the Uniform Refinement Property, that is not satisfied by our example. This yields, in turn, corresponding negative results about congruence lattices of sectionally complemented lattices and two-sided ideals of von Neumann regular rings.
