A Dynamic Frictional Contact Problem with Normal Damped Response

We consider a mathematical model which describes the frictional contact between a viscoelastic body and a reactive foundation. The process is assumed to be dynamic and the contact is modeled with a general normal damped response condition and a local friction law. We present a variational formulation of the problem and prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, using results on evolution equations with monotone operators and a fixed point argument. We then introduce and study a fully discrete numerical approximation scheme of the variational problem, in terms of the velocity variable. The numerical scheme has a unique solution. We derive error estimates under additional regularity assumptions on the data and the solution.     

Generalized One-Sided Laws for the Larger Observations of a Triangular Array

Consider independent and identically distributed random variables {X,X _nj , 1jn,n1} with density f(x)=px ^–p–1 I(x1), where p>0. We show that there exist unusual generalized Laws of the Iterated Logarithm involving the larger order statistics from our array.     

Weak Convergence of a Sequence of Semimartingales to a Diffusion with Discontinuous Drift and Diffusion Coefficients

This paper presents a set of sufficient conditions for a sequence of semimartingales to converge weakly to a solution of a stochastic differential equation (SDE) with discontinuous drift and diffusion coefficients. This result is closely related to a well-known weak-convergence theorem due to Liptser and Shiryayev (see [27]) which proves the weak convergence to a solution of a SDE with continuous drift and diffusion coefficients in the Skorokhod–Lindvall J ₁-topology.The goal of this paper is to obtain a stronger result in order to solve outstanding problems in the area of large-scale queueing networks – in which the weak convergence of normalized queueing length is a solution of a SDE with discontinuous coefficients. To do this we need to make the stronger assumptions: (1) replacing the convergence in probability of the triplets of a sequence of semimartingales in the original Liptser and Shiryayev's theorem by stronger convergence in L ₂, (2) assuming the diffusion coefficient is coercive, and (3) assuming the discontinuity sets of the coefficients of the limit diffusion processs are of Lebesgue measure zero.     

The monotone convergence theorem for multidimensional abstract Kurzweil vector integrals

We prove two versions of the Monotone Convergence Theorem for the vector integral of Kurzweil, , where R is a compact interval of , and f are functions with values on L(Z,W) and Z respectively, and Z and W are monotone ordered normed spaces. Analogous results can be obtained for the Kurzweil vector integral, , as well as to unbounded intervals R.     

On Zeta-Functions of Finite Abelian Groups

In the paper, the zeta-functions of finite Abelian groups of rank 2 and 3 are considered. One- and two-dimensional limit theorems for these zeta-functions on the complex plane and in the space of meromorphic functions are obtained.

本文利用势井理论讨论一类非线性波动方程的初边值问题 .我们构造其稳定集 W和不稳定集 V,证明了当初值属于 W时 ,对 β∈ R整体弱解存在并且利用乘子法得到当 β>0解的指数衰减估计 ;当初值属于 V时 ,而 β<0时 ,解将爆破     

一类非线性发展方程整体解的存在性、渐近性与解的爆破

研究一类非线性发展方程初边值问题整体弱解的存在性，渐近性和解的爆破问题，证明在关于非线性项的不同条件下，上述初边值问题分别在大初值和小初始能量的情况下存在整体弱解，并且讨论了弱解的渐近性。还证明：在相反的条件下，上述弱解在有限时刻爆破，并且给出了一个实例。
