This article reports on an investigation into robust guaranteed cost control (GCC) for uncertain switched neutral systems (USNSs) with interval time‐varying mixed delays and nonlinear perturbations via dynamic output feedback. Delay‐dependent sufficient conditions are suggested to guarantee the robust exponential stability and to obtain robust GCC for USNSs using the average dwell time approach and the piecewise Lyapunov function technique in terms of a set of linear matrix inequalities. The problem of uncertainty in the system model is solved by deploying the Yakubovich lemma. Lastly, two examples (i.e., a numerical example and the water‐quality dynamic model for the Nile River) are given to verify the efficiency of the propounded theories. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary Multi-sample cluster analysis, the problem of grouping samples, is studied from an information-theoretic viewpoint via Akaike's
Information Criterion (AIC). This criterion combines the maximum value of the likelihood with the number of parameters used
in achieving that value. The multi-sample cluster problem is defined, and AIC is developed for this problem. The form of AIC
is derived in both the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) model and in the multivariate model with varying mean vectors
and variance-covariance matrices. Numerical examples are presented for AIC and another criterion calledw-square. The results demonstrate the utility of AIC in identifying the best clustering alternatives.

Abstract Languages for data analysis and statistics must be able to cover the entire spectrum from improvisation and fast prototyping to the implementation of streamlined, specialized systems for routine analyses. Such languages must not only be interactive but also programmable, and the distinctions between language, operating system, and user interface get blurred. The issues are discussed in the context of natural and computer languages, and of the different types of user interfaces (menu, command language, batch). It is argued that while such languages must have a completely general computing language kernel, they will contain surprisingly few items specific to data analysis—the latter items more properly belong to the “literature” (i.e., the programs) written in the language. 相似文献

Synchronization of complex networks with time‐varying coupling matrices is studied in this paper. Two kinds of time‐varying coupling are taken into account. One is the time‐varying inner coupling in the node state space and the other is the time‐varying outer coupling in the network topology space. By respectively setting linear controllers and adaptive controllers, time‐varying complex networks can be synchronized to a desired state. Meanwhile, different influences of the control parameters of linear controllers and adaptive controllers on the synchronization have also been investigated. Based on the Lyapunov function theory, we construct appropriate positive‐definite functions, and several sufficient synchronization criteria are obtained. This paper describes the results and conclusions of research directed towards the development and evaluation of a chemical
sensor which would provide information on the quality of indoor environments surrounding cultural objects. In our case these
objects were paintings housed in major European galleries and the main objective is their preservation through an improved
understanding of their microenvironment. The concept was to prepare and expose test tempera paintings which would behave as
dosimeters and integrate the environmental response at these locations. Artificial ageing of similar samples was performed
to provide a means of calibrating the test paintings. Samples from the test paintings were compared with artificially aged
samples and this enabled the sites to be ranked in terms of their suitability for exposure of cultural objects.
Additionally, novel methodology involving piezoelectric sensors was designed for monitoring the relative humidity and temperature
of the microenvironment of paintings. Dielectric techniques were also used for measuring the effect of relative humidity fluctuations
on artists' materials and novel non-invasive dielectric techniques in the microwave region were used for the determination
of their moisture content.
