We present quantitative studies of transfer operators between finite element spaces associated with unrelated meshes. Several local approximations of the global $L^2$-orthogonal projection are reviewed and evaluated computationally. The numerical studies in 3D provide the first estimates of the quantitative differences between a range of transfer operators between non-nested finite element spaces. We consider the standard finite element interpolation, Clément's quasi-interpolation with different local polynomial degrees the global $L^2$-orthogonal projection, a local $L^2$-quasi-projection via a discrete inner product, and a pseudo-$L^2$-projection defined by a Petrov-Galerkin variational equation with a discontinuous test space. Understanding their qualitative and quantitative behaviors in this computational way is interesting per se; it could also be relevant in the context of discretization and solution techniques which make use of different non-nested meshes. It turns out that the pseudo-$L^2$-projection approximates the actual $L^2$-orthogonal projection best. The obtained results seem to be largely independent of the underlying computational domain; this is demonstrated by four examples (ball, cylinder, half torus and Stanford Bunny).  相似文献

In this paper, superconvergence of the lowest order Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element approximation for second order Neumann boundary value problem on fishbone shape meshes is analyzed. The main term of the error between the exact solution and the finite element interpolating function is determined by Bramble-Hilbert lemma on the individual finite element. A part of the main term of the error on two adjacent finite elements can be cancelled along the special direction, and thus the higher order error estimate is obtained on the whole domain by summation. Compared with the general finite element error estimate,the convergence rate can be increased from order one to order two in L2-norm by postprocessing superconvergence technique.  相似文献

An implicit finite volume solver is developed for the steady-state solution of generalised Newtonian fluids on unstructured meshes in 2D. The pseudo-compressibility technique is employed to couple the continuity and momentum equations by transforming the governing equations into a hyperbolic system. A second-order accurate spatial discretisation is provided by performing a least-squares gradient reconstruction within each control volume of unstructured meshes. A central flux function is used for the convective terms and a solution jump term is added to the averaged component for the viscous terms. Global implicit time-stepping using successive evolution–relaxation is utilised to accelerate the convergence to steady-state solutions. The performance of our flow solver is examined for power-law and Carreau–Yasuda non-Newtonian fluids in different geometries. The effects of model parameters and Reynolds number are studied on the convergence rate and flow features. Our results verify second-order accuracy of the discretisation and also fast and efficient convergence to the steady-state solution for a wide range of flow variables.  相似文献

高超声速气动热环境的数值计算对算法和网格的敏感度极高. 随着高超声速飞行器外形日益复杂, 生成高质量的结构网格时间成本呈指数增加, 难以满足工程应用的需求. 非结构/混合网格因具有很强的复杂外形适应能力, 为了缩短任务周期, 有必要在非结构/混合网格上开展高精度的气动热环境数值计算方法研究. 梯度重构方法是影响非结构/混合网格热流计算精度的重要因素之一. 本文通过引入多维梯度重构方法, 发展了基于常规的非结构/混合网格的高精度热流计算方法, 对典型的高超声速Benchmark算例(二维圆柱)进行了模拟, 并与气动力计算广泛采用的Green-Gauss类方法和最小二乘类方法进行了对比. 计算结果表明, 多维梯度重构方法能有效提高非结构/混合网格热流预测精度, 其鲁棒性和收敛性更好. 最后将多维梯度重构方法应用于常规混合网格的三维圆柱和三维双椭球绕流问题, 得到了与实验值吻合较好的热流计算结果, 展现了良好的应用前景.   相似文献

建立了基于位移相等条件的流固耦合数值模拟程序框架,通过串联弱耦合方式对爆炸冲击波作用下流固耦合效应进行数值模拟. 其中非线性固体位移场采用基于Lagrange方法描述的时域间断伽辽金有限元方法进行处理. 基于修正弹簧近似的非结构动网格新技术,非定常流场采用格心格式的有限体积方法进行求解. 数值模拟结果表明: 该文所发展的弱耦合分析程序在流固耦合数值模拟过程中具有可靠的计算精度. 同时,程序对于爆炸强间断气动冲击载荷冲击作用下固体变形引起流场的反射和叠加效应, 以及流场变化引起复杂的固体响应具有良好的耦合求解能力.  相似文献

This paper presents results from numerical simulations of a 3-bladed horizontal axis tidal stream turbine. Initially, Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) k–ω Shear Stress Transport eddy-viscosity and Launder–Reece–Rodi models were used for code validation and testing of a newly implemented sliding mesh technique for an unstructured finite volume code. Wall- and blade-resolved large-eddy simulations (LES) were then performed to study the complete geometry at various tip speed ratios (TSR). Thrust and power coefficients were compared to published experimental measurements obtained from a towing tank for a range of TSR (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10) at a fixed hub pitch angle. A strong meandering is observed downstream of the supporting tower due to interaction between the detached tip vortices and vortex shedding from the support structure. The wake profiles and rate of recovery of velocity deficit show high sensitivity to the upstream turbulence intensities. However, the mean thrust and power coefficients were found to be less sensitive to the upstream turbulence. Comparisons between RANS and LES are also presented for the mean sectional blade pressures and mean wake velocity profiles. The paper also presents an overview of modelling and numerical issues relating to simulations for such rotating geometries.  相似文献

We present a single grid error estimation technique based on the derivation of a continuous equation for the discretization error. It is developed in the context of finite-volume methods for arbitrary meshes. The key issue of the evaluation of the source term is addressed through the use of a reconstruction operator. Using a higher order accurate evaluation of this term and solving the error equation with the same numerical methods and on the same computational grid as the primal problem leads to a higher order accurate error prediction. The methodology is presented in detail and its properties of asymptotic exactness and superconvergence are illustrated on several cases, including an application of practical engineering complexity. Also presented is the derivation of a powerful criterium for driving any adaptive procedure.  相似文献

An artificial viscosity, originally designed for Eulerian schemes, is adapted for use in arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian simulations. Changes to the Eulerian model (dubbed ‘hyperviscosity’) are discussed, which enable it to work within a Lagrangian framework. New features include a velocity-weighted grid scale and a generalised filtering procedure, applicable to either structured or unstructured grids. The model employs an artificial shear viscosity for treating small-scale vorticity and an artificial bulk viscosity for shock capturing. The model is based on the Navier–Stokes form of the viscous stress tensor, including the diagonal rate-of-expansion tensor. A second-order version of the model is presented, in which Laplacian operators act on the velocity divergence and the grid-weighted strain-rate magnitude to ensure that the velocity field remains smooth at the grid scale. Unlike sound-speed-based artificial viscosities, the hyperviscosity model is compatible with the low Mach number limit. The new model outperforms a commonly used Lagrangian artificial viscosity on a variety of test problems.  相似文献

基于非结构网格系统,实现了时空三阶精度的TTGC有限元格式,并在三阶TTGC格式上发展了基于人工粘性的激波捕捉技术。在非结构网格下,采用这种方法对若干典型的超声速流动问题(SOD激波管、马赫数为3的前台阶流动以及马赫数为8的高超声速圆柱流动)进行了验证计算。结果表明,TTGC格式分辨率高,在粗糙网格下能够准确的模拟超声速流场中的激波、接触间断等复杂流动现象,并且能有效的控制间断附近的数值色散现象。与传统的有限体积方法相比,本文实现的TTGC有限元格式在模拟超声速流动问题方面具有格式精度高、数值耗散小等优点。  相似文献

对基于结构网格的Euler方程及N-S方程求解器和基于非结构网格的Euler方程求解器,采用结构模态分析方法和柔度矩阵方法,对无人机大展弦比机翼在Ma=0.6,α=2?, 飞行高度20km的巡航状态下的静气动弹性特性进行了数值模拟. 验证了两种求解器对静气动弹性模拟的准确性. 同时,对模态分析方法和柔度矩阵方法进行了对比研究,发现柔度矩阵方法更适用于静气动弹性数值模拟. 另外,对应用物面法向偏转方法替代网格变形技术模拟静气动弹性进行了研究,计算表明物面法向偏转方法可以大大提高静气动弹性计算效率和克服机翼结构变形过大时动网格技术无法处理的不足.   相似文献
