Axiomatizing subcategories of Abelian categories

We investigate how to characterize subcategories of abelian categories in terms of intrinsic axioms. In particular, we find axioms which characterize generating cogenerating functorially finite subcategories, precluster tilting subcategories, and cluster tilting subcategories of abelian categories. As a consequence we prove that any d-abelian category is equivalent to a d-cluster tilting subcategory of an abelian category, without any assumption on the categories being projectively generated.     

Newton trajectories for the tilted Frenkel–Kontorova model

ABSTRACT

Newton trajectories are used for the Frenkel–Kontorova model of a finite chain with free-end boundary conditions. We optimise stationary structures, as well as barrier breakdown points for a critical tilting force were depinning of the chain happens. These special points can be obtained straight forwardly by the tool of Newton trajectories. We explain the theory and add examples for a finite-length chain of a fixed number of 2,?3,?4,?5 and 23 particles.     

Recollements of extension algebras

Let A be a finite-dimensional algebra over arbitrary base field k. We prove: if the unbounded derived module category D-(Mod-A) admits symmetric recollement relative to unbounded derived module categories of two finite-dimensional k-algebras B and C:D- (Mod - B) D-(Mod - A) D-(Mod - C),then the unbounded derived module category D-(Mod - T(A)) admits symmetric recollement relative to the unbounded derived module categories of T(B) and T(C):D-(Mod - T(B)) D-(Mod - T(A)) D-(Mod -T(C)).     

Tilting modules over path algebras of Dynkin type and complete slice modules

Let T be a tilting A-module over a path algebra of Dynkin type.We prove thatif the indecomposable direct summands of T are in the different (?)-orbits of the AR-quiverof A,then T is a complete slice module.     

A note on tilting sequences

We discuss the existence of tilting modules which are direct limits of finitely generated tilting modules over tilted algebras.      

BBOⅠ类相位匹配光参量放大中群速失配的补偿

描述了在BBOⅠ类相位匹配的飞秒光参量放大（OPA）中，利用非共线结构和倾斜抽运光的脉 冲波面来完全补偿三波群速失配的方法.理论计算了三波群速匹配时，非共线角、相位匹配 角、抽运光的脉冲波面倾斜角随信号光波长的变化，并分析了对抽运光光斑尺寸的要求和对 空间走离长度的影响.结果表明，利用该方法不仅能够实现最大的参量带宽，而且能够完全 补偿飞秒OPA中三波的群速失配.此外，选取合适的抽运光光斑尺寸和非线性晶体的长度对提 高参量增益也至关重要. 关键词： 群速匹配 非共线相位匹配 脉冲波面倾斜 飞秒光参量放大     

Semisimple Representations of Quivers in Characteristic p

We prove that the results of Le Bruyn and Procesi on the varieties parameterizing semisimple representations of quivers hold over an algebraically closed base field of arbitrary characteristic.     

Effects of oxidation and surface roughness on contact angle

Contact angle is known to be a parameter that effects boiling. This study was undertaken to measure contact angle of high and low surface tension fluids on copper and aluminum surfaces.Data were taken for polished, oxidized, and rough surfaces. A simple, yet fairly accurate method of measuring the static equilibrium contact angle of a solid/liquid interface is presented. The principles of a line light source and tilting plate were modified and then combined in the design of this apparatus. The angles obtained and their variation with the solid surface properties were in good agreement with previously published data. The contact angle of distilled water o of the organic fluids and refrigerants tested were in the range of 2–5°. Roughness and oxidation reduce the contact angle. If the depth of the roughness is less than 0.5 μm contact angle. The apparatus is fairly simple in construction, is inexpensive, and has good reproductibity. The measured angles were then compared to those measured with the sessile drop method.
