Symmetry of the Barochronous Motions of a Gas

We study the system of nonlinear differential equations which expresses the constancy of the algebraic invariants of the Jacobian matrix for smooth vector fields in three-dimensional space. This system is equivalent to the equations of gas dynamics which describe the barochronous motions of a gas (the pressure and density depend only on the time). We present the results of computation of the admissible local Lie group and construction of the general solution of the system. We mention a few new problems that arise here.     

A new algebraic approach to the Szegő-Widom limit theorem

We give another proof of the Szeg\H{o}–Widom Limit Theorem. This proof relies on a new Banach algebra method that can be directly applied to the asymptotic computation of the Toeplitz determinants. On the Pointwise Limit of Vector Charges with the Saks Property

The well-known theorem about the density of the space of probability charges with the Saks property in the space of all probability charges in the pointwise topology is proved in the vector case. New features are the uniform Saks property for the family of charges and sufficient conditions for the pointwise limit of a sequence of charges to have the Saks property.     

Annihilators, Multipliers and Crossed Modules

Using multiplication algebras we introduce actor crossed modules of commutative algebras and use it to generalise some aspects from commutative algebras to crossed modules of commutative algebras. This is applied to the Peiffer pairings in the Moore complex of a simplicial commutative algebra.     

Structure of Degenerate Block Algebras

Given a non-trivial torsion-free abelian group (A,+,Q), a field F of characteristic 0, and a non-degenerate bi-additive skew-symmetric map : A A F, we define a Lie algebra = (A, ) over F with basis {e_x | x A/{0}} and Lie product [e_x,e_y] = (x,y)e_x+y. We show that is endowed uniquely with a non-degenerate symmetric invariant bilinear form and the derivation algebra Der of is a complete Lie algebra. We describe the double extension D( , T) of by T, where T is spanned by the locally finite derivations of , and determine the second cohomology group H²(D( , T),F) using anti-derivations related to the form on D( , T). On a subvariety of semi-De Morgan algebras

A characterization of principal congruences of the subvariety C of semi-DeMorgan algebras is given. This characterization is applied to determine the subdirectly irreducible algebras of the variety C and to describe a poset such that the lattice of its order ideals is isomorphic to the lattice of subvarieties of C. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Iterative Algebras without Projections

We deal with iterative algebras of functions of -valued logic lacking projections, which we call algebras without projections. It is shown that a partially ordered set of algebras of functions of -valued logic, for , without projections contains an interval isomorphic to the lattice of all iterative algebras of functions of -valued logic. It is found out that every algebra without projections is contained in some maximal algebra without projections, which is the stabilizer of a semigroup of non-surjective transformations of the basic set. It is proved that the stabilizer of a semigroup of all monotone non-surjective transformations of a linearly ordered 3-element set is not a maximal algebra without projections, but the stabilizer of a semigroup of all transformations preserving an arbitrary non one-element subset of the basic set is.     

LENTICULAR NONCOMMUTATIVE TORI

All C*-algebras of sections of locally trivial C* -algebra bundles over ∏i=1sLki(ni) with fibres Aw Mc(C) are constructed, under the assumption that every completely irrational noncommutative torus Aw is realized as an inductive limit of circle algebras, where Lki (ni) are lens spaces. Let Lcd be a cd-homogeneous C*-algebra over whose cd-homogeneous C*-subalgebra restricted to the subspace Tr × T2 is realized as C(Tr) A1/d Mc(C), and of which no non-trivial matrix algebra can be factored out.The lenticular noncommutative torus Lpcd is defined by twisting in by a totally skew multiplier p on Tr+2 × Zm-2. It is shown that is isomorphic to if and only if the set of prime factors of cd is a subset of the set of prime factors of p, and that Lpcd is not stablyisomorphic to if the cd-homogeneous C*-subalgebra of Lpcd restricted to some subspace LkiLki (ni) is realized as the crossed product by the obvious non-trivial action of Zki on a cd/ki-homogeneous C*-algebra over S2ni+1 for ki an integer greater than

Coding the principal character formula for affine Kac-Moody lie algebras

In this paper, an algorithm for computing the principal character for affine Lie algebras is discussed and presented. The principal characters discovered using this program are given and/or proven. Results include level 2 and 3 character formulas in and the sole existence of the Rogers-Ramanujan products in , , , , , , .
