Two most widely used approaches to treating goals of different importance in goal programming (GP) are: (1) weighted GP, where importance of goals is modelled using weights, and (2) preemptive priority GP, where a goal hierarchy is specified implying infinite trade-offs among goals placed in different levels of importance. These approaches may be too restrictive in modelling of real life decision making problems. In this paper, a novel fuzzy goal programming method is proposed, where the hierarchical levels of the goals are imprecisely defined. The imprecise importance relations among the goals are modelled using fuzzy relations. An additive achievement function is defined, which takes into consideration both achievement degrees of the goals and degrees of satisfaction of the fuzzy importance relations. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the work done, during the 1968–2005, in the application of statistical and intelligent techniques to solve the bankruptcy prediction problem faced by banks and firms. The review is categorized by taking the type of technique applied to solve this problem as an important dimension. Accordingly, the papers are grouped in the following families of techniques: (i) statistical techniques, (ii) neural networks, (iii) case-based reasoning, (iv) decision trees, (iv) operational research, (v) evolutionary approaches, (vi) rough set based techniques, (vii) other techniques subsuming fuzzy logic, support vector machine and isotonic separation and (viii) soft computing subsuming seamless hybridization of all the above-mentioned techniques. Of particular significance is that in each paper, the review highlights the source of data sets, financial ratios used, country of origin, time line of study and the comparative performance of techniques in terms of prediction accuracy wherever available. A matchbox manifold with one-dimensional leaves which has equicontinuous holonomy dynamics must be a homogeneous space, and so must be homeomorphic to a classical Vietoris solenoid. In this work, we consider the problem, what can be said about a matchbox manifold with equicontinuous holonomy dynamics, and all of whose leaves have at most polynomial growth type? We show that such a space must have a finite covering for which the global holonomy group of its foliation is nilpotent. As a consequence, we show that if the growth type of the leaves is polynomial of degree at most 3, then there exists a finite covering which is homogeneous. If the growth type of the leaves is polynomial of degree at least 4, then there are additional obstructions to homogeneity, which arise from the structure of nilpotent groups. 相似文献

Prolegomenon means something said in advance of something else. In this study, we posit that part of the work by Arthur Schopenhauer (1788–1860) can be thought of as a prolegomenon to the existing concept of fuzziness. His epistemic framework offers a comprehensive and surprisingly modern framework to study individual decision making and suggests a bridgeway from the Kantian program into the concept of fuzziness, which may have had its second prolegomenon in the work by Frege, Russell, Wittgenstein, Peirce and Black. We introduce the Null Decomposition of trees, which is a decomposition into two different types of trees: N-trees and S-trees. N-trees are the trees that have a unique maximum (perfect) matching. S-trees are the trees with a unique maximum independent set. We obtain formulas for the independence number and the matching number of a tree using this decomposition. We investigate the approximation rate for certain centered Gaussian fields by a general approach. Upper estimates are proved in the context of so–called Hölder operators and lower estimates follow from the eigenvalue behavior of some related self–adjoint integral operator in a suitable L 2(μ)–space. In particular, we determine the approximation rate for the Lévy fractional Brownian motion X H with Hurst parameter H∈(0,1), indexed by a self–similar set T?? N of Hausdorff dimension D. This rate turns out to be of order n ?H/D (log?n)1/2.
