We establish, for various scenarios, whether or not interruptible exact stationary sampling is possible when a finite-state Markov chain can only be viewed passively. In particular, we prove that such sampling is not possible using a single copy of the chain. In a previous work, we have introduced a weakening of Quillen model categories called weak model categories. They still allow all the usual constructions of model category theory, but are easier to construct and are in some sense better behaved. In this paper we continue to develop their general theory by introducing combinatorial and accessible weak model categories. We give simple necessary and sufficient conditions under which such a weak model category can be extended into a left and/or right semi-model category. As an application, we recover Cisinski-Olschok theory and generalize it to weak and semi-model categories. We also provide general existence theorems for both left and right Bousfield localization of combinatorial and accessible weak model structures, which combined with the results above gives existence results for left and right Bousfield localization of combinatorial and accessible left and right semi-model categories, generalizing previous results of Barwick. Surprisingly, we show that any left or right Bousfield localization of an accessible or combinatorial Quillen model category always exists, without properness assumptions, and is simultaneously both a left and a right semi-model category, without necessarily being a Quillen model category itself. 相似文献

A proper ideal of a commutative ring is called pseudo-irreducible if it cannot be written as a product of two comaximal proper ideals. In this paper, we give a necessary and su?cient condition for every proper ideal of a commutative ring to be a product of pairwise comaximal pseudo-irreducible ideals. Examples of such rings include Laskerian rings, or more generally J-Noetherian rings and ZD-rings. We study when certain classes of rings satisfy this condition. 相似文献

An infection‐age virus dynamics model for human immunodeficiency virus (or hepatitis B virus) infections with saturation effects of infection rate and immune response is investigated in this paper. It is shown that the global dynamics of the model is completely determined by two critical values R 0, the basic reproductive number for viral infection, and R 1, the viral reproductive number at the immune‐free infection steady state (R 1<R 0). If R 0<1, the uninfected steady state E 0 is globally asymptotically stable; if R 0>1 > R 1, the immune‐free infected steady state E ? is globally asymptotically stable; while if R 1>1, the antibody immune infected steady state is globally asymptotically stable. Moreover, our results show that ignoring the saturation effects of antibody immune response or infection rate will result in an overestimate of the antibody immune reproductive number. Nonlinear kernel methods have been widely used to deal with nonlinear problems in latent variable methods. However, in the presence of structured noise, these methods have reduced efficacy. We have previously introduced constrained latent variable methods that make use of any available additional knowledge about the structured noise. These methods improve performance by introducing additional constraints into the algorithm. In this paper, we build upon our previous work and introduce hard‐constrained and soft‐constrained nonlinear partial least squares methods using nonlinear kernels. The addition of nonlinear kernels reduces the effects of structured noise in nonlinear spaces and improves the regression performance between the input and response variables. Analysis and modeling of spatial data are of considerable interest in many applications. However, the prediction of geographical features from a set of chemical measurements on a set of geographically distinct samples has never been explored. We report a new, tree‐structured hierarchical model for the estimation of geographical location of spatially distributed samples from their chemical measurements. The tree‐structured hierarchical modeling used in this study involves a set of geographic regions stored in a hierarchical tree structure, with each nonterminal node representing a classifier and each terminal node representing a regression model. Once the tree‐structured model is constructed, given a sample with only chemical measurements available, the predicted regional location of the sample is gradually restricted as it is passed through a series of classification steps. The geographic location of the sample can be predicted using a regression model within the terminal subregion. We show that the tree‐structured modeling approach provides reasonable estimates of geographical region and geographic location for surface water samples taken across the entire USA. Further, the location uncertainty, an estimate of a probability that a test sample could be located within a pre‐estimated, joint prediction interval that is much smaller than the terminal subregion, can also be assessed.
