QUENCHING PROBLEMS OF DEGENERATE FUNCTIONAL REACTION-DIFFUSION EQUATION

This paper is concerned with the quenching problem of a degenerate functional reaction-diffusion equation. The quenching problem and global existence of solution for the reaction-diffusion equation are derived and, some results of the positive steady state solutions for functional elliptic boundary value are also presented.     

Resolvent estimates in W−1,p related to strongly coupled‐linear parabolic systems with coupled nonsmooth capacities

We investigate linear parabolic systems with coupled nonsmooth capacities and mixed boundary conditions. We prove generalized resolvent estimates in W^{?1, p} spaces. The method is an appropriate modification of a technique introduced by Agmon to obtain L^p estimates for resolvents of elliptic differential operators in the case of smooth boundary conditions. Augmented Spinor Space

In this paper, based on the Pauli matrices, a notion of augmented spinor space is introduced, and a uniqueness of such augmented spinor space of rank n is proved. It may be expected that this new notion of spaces can be used in mathematical physics and geometry.     

Certain condition on the second fundamental form of CR submanifolds of maximal CR dimension of complex Euclidean space

We treat m-dimensional real submanifolds M of complex space forms ̿M when the maximal holomorphic tangent subspace is (m−1)-dimensional. On these manifolds there exists an almost contact structure F which is naturally induced from the ambient space and in this paper we study the condition h(FX,Y)−h(X,FY) = g(FX,Y)η, η∊ T⊥(M), on the structure F and on the second fundamental form h of these submanifolds. Especially when the ambient space ̿M is a complex Euclidean space, we obtain a complete classification of submanifolds M which satisfy these conditions.Mathematics Subject Classifications (2000): 53C15, 53C40, 53B20.     

Towards Strong Duality in Integer Programming

We consider in this paper the Lagrangian dual method for solving general integer programming. New properties of Lagrangian duality are derived by a means of perturbation analysis. In particular, a necessary and sufficient condition for a primal optimal solution to be generated by the Lagrangian relaxation is obtained. The solution properties of Lagrangian relaxation problem are studied systematically. To overcome the difficulties caused by duality gap between the primal problem and the dual problem, we introduce an equivalent reformulation for the primal problem via applying a pth power to the constraints. We prove that this reformulation possesses an asymptotic strong duality property. Primal feasibility and primal optimality of the Lagrangian relaxation problems can be achieved in this reformulation when the parameter p is larger than a threshold value, thus ensuring the existence of an optimal primal-dual pair. We further show that duality gap for this partial pth power reformulation is a strictly decreasing function of p in the case of a single constraint. Solubility of carbon dioxide in aqueous solutions of sodium chloride: Experimental results and correlation

The solubility of carbon dioxide in aqueous solutions of sodium chloride was measured in the temperature range from 40 to 160°C, up to 6 mol-kg salt solutions and total pressures up to 10 MPa. Pitzer's⁽¹⁾ equations as well as the Chen and Evans⁽²⁾ model were used to correlate the new data. Results are reported and compared to literature data and correlations.     

Some Oscillatory Singular Integrals on Herz-type Spaces (Ⅱ)

In this paper, the authors prove that some oscillatory singular integral operators of non-convolution type with non-polynomial phases are bounded from the Herz-type Hardy spaces to the Herz spaces and from the Hardy spaces associated with the Beurling algebras to the Beurling algebras in higher dimensions, even though it is well-known that these operators are not bounded from the Hardy space H1(Rn) into the Lebesgue spaceL1(Rn).
