Weak and Strong Convergence Theorems for a Nonexpansive Mapping and an Equilibrium Problem

In this paper, we introduce two iterative sequences for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in a Hilbert space. Then, we show that one of the sequences converges strongly and the other converges weakly.     

New Type of Generalized Vector Quasiequilibrium Problem

In this paper, we introduce a new type of vector quasiequilibrium problem with set-valued mappings and moving cones. By using the scalarization method and fixed-point theorem, we obtain its existence theorem. As applications, we derive some existence theorems for vector variational inequalities and vector complementarity problems. On inverse spectral problem for non-selfadjoint Sturm-Liouville operator on a finite interval

An inverse spectral problem is studied for a non-selfadjoint Sturm-Liouville operator on a finite interval with an arbitrary behavior of the spectrum. The spectral data introduced generalize the classical discrete spectral data corresponding to the specification of the spectral function in the selfadjoint case. The connection with other types of spectral characteristics is investigated and a uniqueness theorem is proved. A constructive procedure for solving the inverse problem is given.     

Monotonicity of input-output mappings in inverse coefficient and source problems for parabolic equations

This article presents a mathematical analysis of input-output mappings in inverse coefficient and source problems for the linear parabolic equation ut=(kx(x)ux)+F(x,t), (x,t)∈ΩT:=(0,1)×(0,T]. The most experimentally feasible boundary measured data, the Neumann output (flux) data f(t):=−k(0)ux(0,t), is used at the boundary x=0. For each inverse problems structure of the input-output mappings is analyzed based on maximum principle and corresponding adjoint problems. Derived integral identities between the solutions of forward problems and corresponding adjoint problems, permit one to prove the monotonicity and invertibility of the input-output mappings. Some numerical applications are presented.     

The Geodesics of Metric Connections with Vectorial Torsion

The present note deals with the dynamics of metric connections with vectorial torsion, as already described by E. Cartan in 1925. We show that the geodesics of metric connections with vectorial torsion defined by gradient vector fields coincide with the Levi-Civita geodesics of a conformally equivalent metric. By pullback, this yields a systematic way of constructing invariants of motion for such connections from isometries of the conformally equivalent metric, and we explain in as much this result generalizes the Mercator projection which maps sphere loxodromes to straight lines in the plane. An example shows that Beltrami's theorem fails for this class of connections. We then study the system of differential equations describing geodesics in the plane for vector fields which are not gradients, and show among others that the Hopf–Rinow theorem does also not hold in general.     

An iterative method for generalized set-valued nonlinear mixed quasi-variational inequalities

This paper presents an iterative method for solving the generalized nonlinear set-valued mixed quasi-variational inequality, a problem class that was introduced by Huang et al. (Comp. Math. Appl. 40 (2–3) (2000) 205–215). The method incorporates step size controls that enable application to problems where certain set-valued mappings do not always map to nonempty closed bounded sets.     

Regularization of Nonmonotone Variational Inequalities

In this paper we extend the Tikhonov-Browder regularization scheme from monotone to rather a general class of nonmonotone multivalued variational inequalities. We show that their convergence conditions hold for some classes of perfectly and nonperfectly competitive economic equilibrium problems.     

Contractive type non-self mappings on metric spaces of hyperbolic type

Let (X,d) be a metric space of hyperbolic type and K a nonempty closed subset of X. In this paper we study a class of mappings from K into X (not necessarily self-mappings on K), which are defined by the contractive condition (2.1) below, and a class of pairs of mappings from K into X which satisfy the condition (2.28) below. We present fixed point and common fixed point theorems which are generalizations of the corresponding fixed point theorems of ?iri? [L.B. ?iri?, Quasi-contraction non-self mappings on Banach spaces, Bull. Acad. Serbe Sci. Arts 23 (1998) 25-31; L.B. ?iri?, J.S. Ume, M.S. Khan, H.K.T. Pathak, On some non-self mappings, Math. Nachr. 251 (2003) 28-33], Rhoades [B.E. Rhoades, A fixed point theorem for some non-self mappings, Math. Japon. 23 (1978) 457-459] and many other authors. Some examples are presented to show that our results are genuine generalizations of known results from this area.     

关于C.Fefferman定理与全纯映射的边界扩充

C．Fefferman定理证明了光滑有界强拟凸域之间的双全纯映射可以光滑延拓到边界，这个结果已经被推广到各种情形．其中Bell和Catlin以及Diederich和Fornaess独立地将其推广到拟凸域的逆紧全纯映射．本文较全面地综述了C．Fefferman定理的推广情况以及Bergman投射的边界正则性问题，同时对如何去掉Bell和Catlin以及Diederich和Fornaess定理条件中的拟凸性给出一个新观察，提出一个解决方向并且说明在具体情况下这个新观察确实是可以提供答案的．
