A novel spectrometer which has a resolution of 0.013 nm with high throughput is described. The system uses a Michelson interferometer in which the mirrors have been replaced with Littrow-mounted diffraction gratings. First-order diffracted beams returning from the gratings interfere at the interferometer output to produce a spatial interferogram which is heterodyned about an optical frequency determined by the setting angles of the gratings. The heterodyning process leads to increased resolution, but limits the free-spectral range of the instrument to, in our case, about 3 nm. This is sufficient for characterizing narrow-band sources such as laser diodes. We present the theory of operation of the instrument and some sample spectra obtained from a sodium vapor lamp, a HeNe discharge, and a 670 nm diode laser. 相似文献

used that are enclosed in shells to withstand the pressure of the xenon filling them. It is found that the optimum pressure

Contact electrification phenomena are reviewed to understand phosphor powder behavior. The origin of contact electrification is described in terms of the acid–base concept for solid surfaces. Electric charges produced by contact electrification affect phosphor properties. Various examples related to contact electrification are shown: particle surface modification, dispersion in liquids, adhesion strength to a substrate, electrostatic coating, interaction between a phosphor and mercury in a fluorescent lamp, and electron emission ability in a fluorescent lamp. 相似文献

Total bulb fill pressure and density changes inside incandescent lamps can be studied by holographic interferometry. The main drawback stems from the fact that such techniques only provide information concerning the integral refractive index changes in response to a given electrical load. Difference hologram interferometry results in a direct comparison of any one of the large volume production lamps with a master lamp. Abstract Several experimental parameters have been found to affect the intensity of microwave excited electrodeless discharge emission at the cadmium resonance line (228.8 nm.). A thorough study of the effect of pressure of the fill gas, microwave power applied to the tube; and weight of Cd introduced into the tube has been accomplished. Direct comparisons of Cd resonance emission for the cases of He, Ne, Ar and air fill gases are presented. From these studies preductions of optimum conditions for construction and operation of Cd electrodeless discharge lamps may be made. 相似文献
