两指标双F统计过程控制图

当产品质量指标服从二元正态分时,可用T2控制图与Λ控制图联合判断产品生产的过程是否处于受控状态。本文利用T2统计量与F统计量、Λ统计量与F统计量之间的关系,得到了两指标情形下两类基于F分布统计量的统计过程控制图,简称双F统计过程控制图,并给出了控制图应用实例。     

Fermi, Majorana and the Statistical Model of Atoms

We give an account of the appearance and first developments of the statistical model of atoms proposed by Thomas and Fermi, focusing on the main results achieved by Fermi and his group in Rome. Particular attention is addressed to the unknown contribution to this subject by Majorana, anticipating some important results reached later by leading physicists.     

Preparation of Phosphoric-Carboxylic Cation Exchangers from Wood Cellulose

Phosphorus-containing cellulose cation exchangers were synthesized by reaction of wood cellulose with orthophosphoric acid and the ternary polymer from glycidylmethacrylate, styrene, and maleic anhydride. The effects of the ratio of reactants, temperature, and duration of the reaction on the phosphorylation and exchange capacity of the modified cellulose material were studied.

Metastability of a circular o-ring due to intrinsic curvature

An o-ring takes spontaneously the shape of a chair when strong enough torsion is applied in its tangent plane. This state is metastable, since work has to be done on the o-ring to return to the circular shape. We show that this metastable state exists in a Hamiltonian where curvature and torsion are coupled via an intrinsic curvature term. If the o-ring is constrained to be planar (2d case), this metastable state displays a kink-anti-kink pair. This state is metastable if the ratio is less than , where C and A are the torsion and the bending elastic constants [#!landau!#]. In three dimensions, our variational approach shows that . This model can be generalized to the case where the bend is induced by a concentration field which follows the variations of the curvature. About Regularity of Collections of Sets

The paper continues investigations of stationarity and regularity properties of collections of sets in normed spaces. It contains a summary of different characterizations (both primal and dual) of regularity and a list of sufficient conditions for a collection of sets to be regular.     

Uniform convergence of Galerkin‐multigrid methods for nonconforming finite elements for second‐order problems with less than full elliptic regularity

In this article we prove uniform convergence estimates for the recently developed Galerkin‐multigrid methods for nonconforming finite elements for second‐order problems with less than full elliptic regularity. These multigrid methods are defined in terms of the “Galerkin approach,” where quadratic forms over coarse grids are constructed using the quadratic form on the finest grid and iterated coarse‐to‐fine intergrid transfer operators. Previously, uniform estimates were obtained for problems with full elliptic regularity, whereas these estimates are derived with less than full elliptic regularity here. Applications to the nonconforming P₁, rotated Q₁, and Wilson finite elements are analyzed. The result applies to the mixed method based on finite elements that are equivalent to these nonconforming elements. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
