正定矩阵标准型的复合矩阵的一般形式

实对称正定矩阵的复合矩阵正定性的研究已有结论,但对于一般意义下的正定矩阵的复合矩阵是否仍然是正定的研究需要利用一般的正定矩阵的标准形的复合矩阵进行讨论,给出了一般公式及具体算法,为讨论其复合矩阵的正定性提供了基础条件.     

提高洪峰流量预测精度的方法

文章介绍了预测洪峰流量的两种概率统计方法,指出了它们的不足之处,进而提出了综合使用两种方法可以相互取长补短,从而提高预测的精确度。应用实例表明：其方法是可行的。     

On the normality of the rings of Schubert varieties

We prove that the cone over a Schubert variety inG/P (P being a maximal parabolic subgroup of classical type) is normal by exhibiting a 2-regular sequence inR(w) (the homogeneous coordinate ring of the Schubert varietyX(w) inG/P under the canonical protective embeddingG/P ⊂→ (p (H° G/P,L)),L being the ample generator of (PicG/P), which vanishes on the singular locus ofX(w). We also prove the surjectivity ofH° (G/Q, L) H° (X(w), L), whereQ is a classical parabolic subgroup (not necessarily maximal) ofG andL is an ample line bundle onG/Q.     

Standard Koszul standardly stratified algebras

In this paper, we prove that every standard Koszul (not necessarily graded) standardly stratified algebra is also Koszul. This generalizes a similar result of [3 Ágoston, I., Dlab, V., Lukács, E. (2003). Quasi-hereditary extension algebras. Algebras Represent. Theory 6:97–117.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]] on quasi-hereditary algebras.     

A safe minimum standard,the elasticity of substitution,and the cleanup of the Ganges in Varanasi

Despite repeated calls for a thorough cleanup of water pollution in the Ganges river, there are only two papers in the social sciences by Batabyal and Beladi (2017, 2019) that have shed theoretical light on this cleanup problem and its connection to the sustainability of tourism in Varanasi. Hence, we extend the above‐mentioned analyses and focus on two specific questions. First, we introduce the notion of a safe minimum standard (SMS) into the study and show how to analyze a probabilistic model of the Ganges cleanup problem when the SMS is accounted for. Second, for a representative citizen of Varanasi, we study how the magnitude of the elasticity of substitution between a composite consumption good and water quality in the Ganges—modeled by the SMS—affects the tradeoff between consumption and water quality maintenance.
