Modularity and Total Ellipticity of Some Multiple Series of Hypergeometric Type

We collect some new evidence for the validity of the conjecture that every totally elliptic hypergeometric series is modular invariant and briefly discuss a generalization of such series to Riemann surfaces of arbitrary genus.     

New class of generating functions associated with generalized hypergeometric polynomials

In this paper authors prove a general theorem on generating relations for a certain sequence of functions. Many formulas involving the families of generating functions for generalized hypergeometric polynomials are shown here to be special cases of a general class of generating functions involving generalized hypergeometric polynomials and multiple hypergeometric series of several variables. It is then shown how the main result can be applied to derive a large number of generating functions involving hypergeometric functions of Kampé de Fériet, Srivastava, Srivastava-Daoust, Chaundy, Fasenmyer, Cohen, Pasternack, Khandekar, Rainville and other multiple Gaussian hypergeometric polynomials scattered in the literature of special functions.     

Must thermodynamic functions be piecewise analytic?

There seems to be no general theoretical argument to support the idea that thermodynamic functions are piecewise analytic. We suggest that nonanalyticity may be associated with Gibbs states which are quasiperiodic under space translations, or have a more general nonperiodic (turbulent) behavior.     

Design and optimal tuning of nonlinear PI compensators

In this paper, linear time-invariant single-input single-output (SISO) systems that are stabilizable by linear proportional and integral (PI) compensators are considered. For such systems, a five-parameter nonlinear PI compensator is proposed. The parameters of the proposed compensator are tuned by solving an optimization problem. The optimization problem always has a solution.Additionally, a general nonlinear PI compensator is proposed and is approximated by easy-to-compute compensators, for instance, a six-parameter nonlinear PI compensator. The parameters of the approximate compensators are tuned to satisfy an optimality condition. The superiority of the proposed nonlinear PI compensators over linear PI compensators is discussed and is demonstrated for two feedback systems.     

Relationship between the 2-body Parameters of the Biswas-Hamann and the Bauer-Maysenholder-Seeger Potential Functions

A theoretical relation between the Bauer-Maysenholder-Seeger (BMS) and the Biswas-Hamann (BH) potential function has been developed herein for the case of 2-body interaction. By equating derivatives of these two potential functions for the 2-body part, a loose form of BMS is expressed in terms of BH parameters with a scaling factor. The validity of the developed parametric relationships has been graphically demonstrated, and the suitability discussed with reference to the extent and direction of bond distortion.

在量子密钥分发系统中,私密放大是合法通信双方提取共享安全密钥的一个必不可少的环节.本文主要介绍了实现私密放大的两种加速算法,采用将两种加速算法进行有效组合的方法,既可以保证私密放大的安全性,同时又有效地减少了运算的操作次数.在连续变量量子密钥分发实验系统中,采用上述组合加速算法,实现了安全密钥的提取.     

The Ansatz Method for Analyzing Schrödinger’s Equation with Three Anharmonic Potentials in D Dimensions

In this letter, by applying a suitable ansatz to the wave functions, the solutions of the D-dimensional radial Schrödinger equation with some anharmonic potentials are obtained.     

An analysis of quantum chromodynamic structure function beyond leading order

We obtain approximate solutions of Altarelli-Parisi equations beyond leading logarithmic approximation. Our results suggest quantitative utility of higher order terms in the structure function analysis of deep inelastic scattering.     

High resolution dynamic cardiac MRI using partial separability of spatiotemporal signals with a novel sampling scheme

The partial separability (PS) of spatiotemporal signals has been exploited to accelerate dynamic cardiac MRI by sampling two datasets (training and imaging datasets) without breath-holding or ECG triggering. According to the theory of partially separable functions, the wider the range of spatial frequency components covered by the training dataset, the more accurate the temporal constraint imposed by the PS model. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a new sampling scheme for the PS model in order to cover a wider range of spatial frequency components. In this paper, we propose the use of radial sampling trajectories for collecting the training dataset and Cartesian sampling trajectories for collecting the imaging dataset. In vivo high resolution cardiac MRI experiments demonstrate that the proposed data sampling scheme can significantly improve the image quality. The image quality using the PS model with the proposed sampling scheme is comparable to that of a commercial method using retrospective cardiac gating and breath-holding. The success of this study demonstrates great potential for high-quality, high resolution dynamic cardiac MRI without ECG gating or breath-holding through use of the PS model and the novel data sampling scheme.
