Synthesis and characterization of poly(vinyl alcohol)‐graft‐[poly(D,L‐lactide)/poly(D,L‐lactide‐co‐glycolide)] hydrogels

Poly(D ,L ‐lactide) and poly(D ,L ‐lactide‐co‐glycolide) with various composition and with one methacrylate and one carboxylate end group were synthesized and grafted onto poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) via the carboxylate group. The graft copolymers were crosslinked via the methacrylate groups using a free radical initiator. The polymer networks were characterized by means of NMR and studied qualitatively by means of IR spectroscopy. The influence of the glycolide content in the polyester grafts and of the number of ester units in the grafts on thermal properties and swellability were studied as well. The high swellability in water is characteristic of all hydrogels. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) showed a single glass transition temperature that occurs in the range between 51 and 69 °C. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of the networks showed the main loss in weight in the temperature range between 290 and 370 °C. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Determination of Six 5-Nitroimidazoles in Animal Feedstuff

A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of the coccidiostats metronidazole, ronidazole, dimetridazole, secnidazole, tinidazole and ipronidazole in feedstuff was developed. The 5-nitroimidazoles were extracted from animal feed with a pH 2 phosphate buffer solution followed by a solid phase extraction procedure based on HLB cartridges. The liquid chromatographic separation of the extracts was performed on a C₁₈ bonded silica column applying a gradient of elution with pH 4.3 ammonium acetate buffer solution and acetonitrile. Quantification for each 5-nitroimidazole was carried out monitoring its molecular ion [M + H]⁺ obtained by positive electrospray ionisation mode. A pool of feedstuffs was used to optimise and validate the method. Linearity, quantification limit, intra-day and inter-day reproducibility and accuracy were estimated using this pool of feedstuffs spiked with the drugs. For the confirmatory assay, several fragment ions from each 5-nitroimidazole were obtained and monitored. The method was applied successfully to determine 5-nitroimidazoles in feedstuff at level of 0.05 mg kg⁻¹.

Courants caractéristiques et analyse de SEREigen currents and RCS analysis

In this Note, we return to the theory of characteristic modes which was introduced 30 years ago for electromagnetic scattering problems. A simple mathematical framework is proposed and complete definitions are given. The potential interest of this theory in terms of Radar Cross Section (RCS) analysis is then discussed, especially in the low frequency case. Synthesis and properties of tricyclo[6.4.1.0]trideca-1,3(6),7,9,11-pentaene

A new cyclobutene-fused 1,6-methano[10]annulene was synthesized by pyrolysis of the sulfone and sulfinate adducts of 3,4-bis(methylene)-1,6-methano[10]annulene and its physical and chemical properties were disclosed.     

Synthesis of Methyl 2-(5-Arylidene-2,4-dioxotetrahydrothiazol-3-yl)propionates

A series of methyl 2-(arylidene-2,4-dioxotetrahydrothiazol-3-yl)propionates were prepared. A study of the 3D structure was performed. The log P values are given for all the synthesized compounds.     

Propagation of singularities in Cauchy problems for quasilinear thermoelastic systems in three space variables

By using microlocal analysis, the propagation of weak singularities in Cauchy problems for quasilinear thermoelastic systems in three space variables are investigated. First, paradifferential operators are employed to decouple the quasilinear thermoelastic systems. Second, by investigating the decoupled hyperbolic-parabolic systems and using the classical bootstrap argument, the property of finite propagation speeds of singularities in Cauchy problems for the quasilinear thermoelastic systems is obtained. Finally, it is shown that the microlocal weak singularities for Cauchy problems of the thermoelastic systems are propagated along the null bicharacteristics of the hyperbolic operators.     

Stability analysis of structurally unstable man–machine system involving time delays

In this paper, a structurally unstable man–machine system is considered and a rigorous mathematical analysis is performed to study the influence of time delays in the control force on stability of the equilibrium solution of this system. Results on stability, instability and conditions for the preservation of stability (instability), besides the existence of bifurcation are presented.     

A purely algebraic characterization of the hyperreal numbers

The hyperreal numbers of nonstandard analysis are characterized in purely algebraic terms as homomorphic images of a suitable class of rings of functions.

     

若干具有[(PO4)2Mo5O15]簇骼的化合物的光谱研究

本文对所合成的具有 [(PO4 ) 2 Mo5O1 5]簇骼的 3种新颖的有机 磷钼酸盐簇合物(NH3CH2 CH2 NH3) 2 5[(PO4 ) (HPO4 )Mo5O1 5]·7 5H2 O (Ⅰ ) ,(H3NCH2 CH2 NH3) 3·[(PO4 ) 2 Mo5O1 5]·3H2 O (Ⅱ )和(H3NCH2 CH2 NH3) 2 ·[Cu(en) ][(PO4 ) 2 Mo5O1 5]·5H2 O (Ⅲ )用FTIR ,NIR Raman ,紫外 可见漫反射光谱 (UV VisDRS)和荧光光谱等研究手段 ,对其进行光谱研究 ,探讨其结构和性能的关系。在这些化合物中 ,化合物Ⅰ和Ⅱ具有孤立的 [(PO4 ) 2 Mo5O1 5]簇骼基元 ,而化合物Ⅲ的 [(PO4 ) 2 Mo5O1 5]簇骼基元是由 [Cuen]基团桥联成链 ;磷钼酸盐的特征振动频率和这些化合物的结构相关 ;UV VisDRS显示 ,在 2 0 0和 2 6 0nm左右有两个杂多化合物的特征吸收谱带 ;化合物的稳态荧光光谱中 ,观察到以 2 4 0nm激发 ,在大约 4 0 0nm附近出现的由金属氧簇Oμ→Mo跃迁激发所引起的较强的发射峰 ,在化合物 (Ⅲ )中 ,还观察到通过 [Cuen]的荷移跃迁的以 5 70nm激发所产生的 6 0 4nm的发射峰。
